Eating large amounts vs. Eating unhealthy
chitowngirl replied to LovetoDeath's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can personally say from speaking and this is my personal experience. I didn't realize how overweight I was until I wasn't overweight anymore (I still got 40-50 pounds to get to goal) but now I am in normal sized. I didn't realize how bad or how much I ate until I didn't eat that way anymore. I didn't realize how much being overweight dominated my life until it didn't. It's normal to feel nervous and get cold feet so to speak, it is normal. I would submit the paperwork and during that time do a honest self assessment/ evaluation and if you don't think you need it then you don't have to go through with it. If you do choose to have it the. Nothing was lost because you got the ball rolling. In other words most of us get scared and nervous, it's normal, you shouldn't let a few moment of nerves determine your future health. Good luck to you, in whichever path you choose. Just in case you need some inspiration I'm attaching some before and after pics. -

I've tried that cereal and I did like it. I stopped buying it because I am a carb addict and cereal in general is not a good way for me to start my day regardless of the protein content. If you can eat it and it does not set you on the wrong track then I say go for it. Good luck.

chitowngirl replied to 1sassygal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Honestly the best thing you can do is contact your insurance company and 1. Asks them if you have coverage for bariatric surgery and if you do 2. What are the requirements. Once you get the requirements follow them to a t. I needed a 6 month physician weight loss program, on my 3rd month I went to the doctor and told him that I was not able to exercise as much be wise I just started a school, and I was denied because of that, so I had to redo the whole diet. -
Regrets, i know its just a phase, but any ideas on how to get past this.....
chitowngirl replied to kcinpa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A trick that helped me snap out of it, was trying on clothes. I always felt good once I was able to realize my clothes started fitting me big. Good luck and hope you feel better. Ps dancing around my house like a fool also helped me feel better, it may have been my body's release because of the cardio from the exercise. -

Depressed --- Need the VST Gang Reality Check
chitowngirl replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I always fluctuate anywhere from 2-5 lbs. if the scale tells me I weigh a few more pounds than the last time, I honestly just ignore it. I weigh my self same time every time, it just doesn't seem to matter. Don't beat yourself up about it, it happens and is normal. Good luck to you!!! -
HELP! I need a good excuse!
chitowngirl replied to conshy416's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
FYI... I know your mind is made up, but just to throw in my 2 cents. I had my surgery on a Tuesday and on Friday I was at my cousins wedding. None of my family knew about the surgery yet. I sipped on some soup, traded salad plates with my husband who happily ate my food. I was feeling good enough to get up walk around and greet everyone. I did leave the party at 10:30 which was early considering it wasn't over until midnight, however I doubt anyone missed me. Just some food for thought. -
For the LADIES Only Please...
chitowngirl replied to petra1124's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a little under 100 lb loss. And my area was anlittle chubby in the front. I have noticed that it is not as chubby. I can totally see the edge with out even looking, and it doesn't look bad, there is no hanging skin or anything like that. So yes my vajayjay so to speak is no longer chunky. So yes that's one more thing you can look forward to -
Need a surgeon in Chicagoland area...any recommendations?
chitowngirl replied to newme31's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
U of c is in Hyde Park. On 57th and Drexel. It is kind of out of the way, but the good thing is they do all the consults in one day, that does not include any testing you may need. So your psych, dietician, and surgeon consult all in in one day, which really saves a lot of time. -
