    Eating On The Move

How about Some low sodium can chili. I know it's not the best, but it will give you some variety. You can also do canned beef stew.
  3. So I'm just 2 weeks post op. I have a 13 year old son, he knows that I had surgery, but I was very general and did not tell him that it was WLS. I told him I had abdominal surgery. Well yesterday we were talking and he told me wow mom your really looking skinnier. I've lost 20 pounds and am excited. I feel like a 13 year old boy has even noticed my weight loss. That was the thing that has real. Loving my life...

    Bcbsil

It takes a matter of A few days 2-3. Feel free to call and check the status, when they tell you that your approved, have them fax u the letter. As your doctors office most likely want it in writing.

    3M3W3D Update!

Awesome...your stats are great. Keep up the good work.
  6. Wow it's a shame how someone can have so much positive change in their lives and still not appreciate it. It almost sounds like she didn't understand the full extent of the sleeve. It makes me wonder if she is resistant to put in the work needed for her to loose those last 30 pounds. Or if she made a hasty decision in having the sleeve, seems like she didn't really go into it understanding the sacrafices she would have to make. I love my sleeve and all it's quirky restrictions, I'm grateful that I cannot eat like I used to.
  7. It could have been a lot of things. At only one pound it could have been the clothes or shoes you were wearing. Could it be that your time of the month is lurking? Or it could have simply been the time of day you weighed yourself. In other words, I wouldn't stress over a pound. Our bodies fluctuate.
  8. I personally did not care for Greek yogurt, however I did find yasso frozen Greek yogurt, it has all the protein that Greek yogurt does. How about cottage cheese, Also beans, beans, beans.

    Insurance Approval?

Yup they sure do need it in writing. You can ask your insurance company to fax/email it to you. Then you can forward it to your surgeon.
  11. I was sleeved on 3/27 and today at my 2 week post op visit I was down 23 pounds. I am super excited. 23 pounds that would have been nearly impossible before my sleeve. Most importantly those are pounds gone forever...couldn't be happier.

You look awesome. Your face is thinner, your arm/shoulders look smaller, and your belly has went down. It is noticeable. Congrats.

    My Biggest Nsv To Date...

Wow...that's great. Hopefully all goes well. If ur really serious try taking a few classes over the summer. Does your job have tuition reimbursement? That does sound like a pretty good dream job. Make your own hours, work from home. I'm sold.

    Surgery Tomorrow!

Take long deep breaths, it helps because it's something you will have to do post op in the hospital. When you breath just remind your self that this was your decision and it's you are sure this is the right decision for you. Best of luck you will be in my prayers.

    I Want Chinese Food!

Maybe try Thai food, it still has the Asian influences, but they tend to have a few more healthy options. Such as Thai rolls, they offer beef and vegetables. I used to love Chinese food, now I love Thai food. I personally feel Thai food has overall better quality.

    On The Fence

Well this is really a personal decision, and ultimately it is yours to make. All the stories in the world should not trump your gut instinct. I am 12 days post op, and have no regrets. I was tired of trying to convince myself that I could do it on my own. I just finally decided that it was time for me to have the surgery. I have no regrets, it isn't easy. I don't even eat 1/4 of what I used to, but I do know that it's something tht I've got to do. I also know that eventually I will be able to eat a little more.
  18. I choose the sleeve because it is not as invasive as the gastric bypass. I really love that I don't have the malabsorption issues that the bypass patients have. My doctor did try to push the bypass on he kept throwing out the "golden standard" out there. But the sleeve just made so much sense to me.

Help Me! I Still Have A Rash!

Any time I break out I cut a piece of my aloe plant and apply it to the irritated area. Not only will it sooth the irritation but it will help the rash go away. Unfortunately it does need to be an actual aloe plant. Worse case scenario go buy one and keep it on hand. You will be surprise how much you'll use it.
  21. My doctor makes all his patients do 2 weeks of Lovonox Injections to prevent blood clots. Urghhh... I just want to say how much I hate them. 2x a day. I hate it, can't wait until I can be done with that. On the bright side I guess its a small price to pay for a new lease on life.

yes, I get the growling and the gurgeling. I've just come to terms with it, as my doctor said that it's gonna happen for the first few months.
