I use nioxin because of hair loss due to pcos. I feel that it helps, it is pricey but I do continue to use it. I feel it has helped me with my hair growth.

You can call your insurance and ask them to quote you the benefits for bariatric surgery, the procedures they cover should be in there, if not ask them specifically what procedures are covered for wls.

Clothing After Surgery
chitowngirl replied to thewinds's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I've lost 25 lbs, and still have not gone down a size. My highest weight was 298 and I wore an 18 tight. Now my 18's are loose. However all of my size 18's are plus size, my size 16's are not plus, so I still cannot get into them. My size 18 pants are making me look like I got a huge crotch. -
Social Meals With Work/family
chitowngirl replied to nabird77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree I like ordering off the appetizer menu. When ordering Mexican I will order a shrimp dish, fajitas. Soups are great to order and you can eat half a bowl and no one will notice. What I tend to do is order something I can fidget with, then I play with my food so as to seem I'm giving attention to my food. -
Higher Bmi - Almost 4 Weeks Post Op - Still No Nsv's :(
chitowngirl replied to HadToDoIt40's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Lol...I was thinking the same thing. I went back to work after being off for a month. I'm down 25 pounds. I haven't told anyone at work about the wls. I'm glad I didn't because nobody noticed sh*t, as far as my weight loss. The few family and friends that I have told say that have noticed, it makes me think if they're just saying that to be supportive. Anyhow I can feel better and I know I'm loosing weight, I guess that's all that matters. -

I say don't second guess your weight loss dedication. Toss them suckers. -
I had my first day back to work yesterday, I just took soup. It worked out pretty well. I bought the healthy choice protein soups, I'll eat the meat and leave the pasta at the bottom.

The Thought Of Some Food Making Me Sick

I have that feeling about any protein drinks. Lucky I'm a month out and I'm able to get in 90% of my protein in via food. -
What Did You Tell Your Kids?
chitowngirl replied to VMiller's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a 13 year old son, and I told him that I was going to have surgery on my stomach. I told my son that it was not anything for him to worry about. -
I made some eggface mini quiche, they're pretty good. Have you tried oatmeal, they sell them in the ready to eat containers now. If you check the website the world according to eggface, under her bites, there are a bunch of good ideas.

3 Week Stall ( Frustrated)
chitowngirl replied to tonyrizz's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm also at my three week stall for the last week and a half. It's annoying, however it does come with the territory. I am just trying to be patient and learn how to snap out of these stalls. Best of luck. Have faith that we will make it passed these stupid stalls. -
My advice is to call your insurance company to see what the requirement for surgery are. If the insurance company requires a medically supervised weigh loss program. If you have not done the weight loss program yet start it ASAP. Some insurances waive that requirement some still require it. This is just to be ahead of the game.

Questions, Please Help!
chitowngirl replied to Yunbug's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm currantly a month out and honestly I am barely able to hit my protein goals. It's a process I had to gradually build my way upto my water intake, meds and vitamin intake. My advice is focus on one thing at a time, then gradually add another element in. -
Well the good news is its never too late to get started. I also recommend joining my fitness pal, it makes me accountable to myself. Also there is a 5 day cleanse on this site specifically for the VGs I think it was posted by littlemissdiva. After that the eatting pattern you should follow is protein first, then veggies, and if you have room then you can have carb, more than likely you won't have much room for much carbs. Choose smarter snacks, string cheese, greek yogurt, fresh fruit. Also I really recommend getting really involved in a support group, wether online or physical one is up to you. Best of luck, and please don't give up.

About To Go Into Surgery!
chitowngirl replied to dreynolds05's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck, keep us posted. -
I agree drop the gym, if it doesn't work for you, then don't bother. There are other ways to remain active, walking, I dance when I clean lol, bike riding. There are so many things you can do at home. Also are you on my fitness pal, I personally found it to be very helpful, and i put the good the bad and the ugly on there, I feel it makes me accountable. Also gradually start bringing back your good healthy habits, do it one by one, as I feel it is overwhelming if I try to take on too much at once. Also you really shouldn't feel like everyone is out to judge you. We all have struggles and none of us are above anything.

In response to sassy girl, I agree crock pot can be a life saver. If you want to try different flavors add some salsa to the meat. I personally prefer green salsa.

Learning How To Eat Again...
chitowngirl replied to Sassiesmiles's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I can eat bread and pasta, no sliming issues. -
Glad to see that you are feeling better. When you take food out of a relationship that can leave a void. Even before my sleeve I did go through periods of unfulfilment. I then started expressing this to my husband, so we make a point to make us time, such as mini getaways. I also make time for me, I feel that I have sacraficed so much of myself for the sake of the marriage, that's never good. I also asked my husband to buy a bike since I love to bike ride, so that's going to be our together activity.
