Do U Now Look Older?
chitowngirl replied to betterthanbefore's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 34 and I feel younger, I also get the whole glowing thing. My aunt did ask me if I was pregnant because I just had a radiant glow about me. -
3Rd Year "sleever" Blues......
chitowngirl replied to soontobelovely's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I agree, your tool the sleeve is still there, maybe getting back to basics will help whip your sleeve back into shape. Have you tried little miss diva's boot camp?? Also start logging your food in my fitness pal, make your self accountable for every crumb that goes into your mouth. Putting your body thru surgery should not be taken lightly, so I say at least try getting back to basics before you consider going under the knife again. Best of luck. -

Yup, it's so hard not to look frumpy when your clothes are to big. What bothers me the most is that I may look frumpy, but I feel great. -
How Do I Raise My Vsg Plan With My Husband?
chitowngirl replied to 1969lulu's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My conversation went something like this... You know dh I went to the doctor today and he actually recommend that I look into wls. I feel like he's right. I've been struggling with my weight for so long, im so done living like this. It actually made my hubby feel better that a doctor was actually recommending it. I also told my husband on the same day, I called our insurance and our policy does cover it. -
Good luck...

Welcome cr, It also took me a while to come to terms with the fact that I need help loosing weight. I guess that maybe a big reason why I disclosed my procedure to a select few. You should know that what your doing takes a lot of courage, so many people choose to act like they do not have a weight problem. Not me, I'm a fighter and I'm gonna fight my weight problem with everything I got, or at least go down trying.

Don't Want To Tell Anyone I'm Having The Surgery
chitowngirl replied to buffalogal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Buffalogal, I'm totally with you on this one. Your son and daughter in law are prob so excited and have much going on with the upcoming birth of their child, I wouldn't want to worry or distract them. Tell them after you have the procedure and when you tell them let them know why you waited to tell them. Good luck. -

Not Losing Sizes Fast
chitowngirl replied to ShoeLover's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ive lost 50 pounds and my pants are just starting to look ridiculously big on me. I think the whole plus size thing there really so much room to fluctuate in the clothes. From what I understand once you hit the smaller sizes you will drop sizes quick. I know I can't wait to get there either.....come on single didget sizes. -
Oh, if your self pay, I'm sure your doctor will continue with your original surgery date. If your doctor says anything, just let him know that you will continue with therapy as needed.
-
I'm 9 weeks post op and I've had enchiladas, no problem here, so I don't foresee a problem.
-
I would recommend proceeding with the surgery, I have a friend who was recommended to have more therapy instead he got antsy and went to Mexico and had wls. Well to make a long story short, 5 years out he nearly gained all his weight back. He had not mastered coping mechanisms that are needed. Even if they suggest a few weeks of therapy before surgery have faith that it is so that you can have the best long term out come. I know it's hard, we tend to get anxious and want it ASAP. Have you already been approved?

Feeling Nauseous Right After I Eat
chitowngirl replied to pinky62611's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That happens to me when I bite off more than I can chew, literally. My advice is slow down. It is the hardest thing for me to do, but I get the same reaction as you when I eat too fast. -
