Just Approved! And Scared As Hell ....
chitowngirl replied to wanttobeamoore's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes your reaction is normal. Trust me when I say if you could easily be living that healthy thin life, you would be. Unfortunately some of us being healthy is a challenge and our genes are just plain working against us. I also come from a big family, and I am the first one brave enought to have the sleeve done, I can tell you for sure I won't be the only one, my cousins & aunts and inlaws are starting to ask ?'s about the sleeve. The truth is for people like us the odds are against us, even when we lose weight on our own chances are we are going to gain it all back and then some. The one thing people on this forum always wish is that they would have done it sooner in life. This is your chance, seize it. -
Can't Stomach The Bariatric Advantage Chewable Vitamins
chitowngirl replied to Erin6573's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yup. I bought the bariatric ones too, they are pretty awful. I asked my surgeon and nut they both said the gummy vitamins are fine. You can get the anywhere and they're pretty cheap. -

Who Else Loved Going Out Clubbing/dancing
chitowngirl replied to Jlewis229's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know exactly how you feel. I feel like the less I danced the more weighti gained. However, I must admit that Zumba fitness is a good replacement for hitting the club. Best of luck to you. -

No On Would Have Thought...
chitowngirl replied to karen74's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats on your sleeve and your weight loss, keep up the good work. -
Yes, this is normal. You really should go back to your pt there are stretches and other things that can be done to relieve the soarness, such as rolling out. Also if your gym has a sauna, steam room or a jacuzzi I recommend trying it for a few minutes as it should result in relaxing your muscles.

Congrats...

Sleeved This Past Monday-Home Terrified Today
chitowngirl replied to Looking Ahead's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sorry you feel this way, but rest assure that it does get better everyday. You sound like your in shock, just keep reminding yourself why you did this and that this is the right decision for you. Focus on relaxing, if there is some particular music that helps you relax, put it on. Just breathe. As for your husband, don't focus on that right now. Just worry about you, all things will fall into place. Have faith, you are strong and you can do this. -
Nothing Bothers Me? Really?
chitowngirl replied to Star1221's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am also 3 months out. I have allowed myself to venture out and taste all sorts of things. What I cannot tolerate at this point is hot dogs. I've had bread, pasta ,and rice I tend to stick to the protein first rule, which does not allow me too much carbs. As far as sweets I have them every once in a while and I still love them, however everything is soo much more rich, so I can only tolerate a small portion. My sleeve is a blessing, it forces moderation on me. -

Want Honest Immediate Post Surgery Opinions
chitowngirl replied to ShannonK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You may be tired to cook meals all day everyday, i was t really to consistently cook until about 3 weeks post op. I would suggest stocking up on things that your kids can help themselves to, cereal, sandwiches. I know it's not the healthiest options, but keep in mind it is only temporary. At a week and a half out you may find yourself able to cook one meal a day, but more than that will be tough. -
Wow. Well I can say that obviously you are not happy nor proud of your actions. At eight weeks post op, your early enough in the game to nip those bad habits in the bud. If you. I would call the person who gave you your psych eval, maybe they can offer some coping mechanisms. I really don't like the attention about my weight, so I usually just say thanks and totally change the subject. Don't feel bad about telling people that you preferre not to talk about your weight. You are on the path to a healthy life, it's not always easy, but it is well worth it. You've come too far to sabatoge. Best of luck.
