    Dating

As a married gal who just had surgery, our date nights consist of concerts, movies, plays, long bike rides, museums, amusement parks. I've also found going to fancy restursnts is Awsome, I used to get pissed at those small servings, now they are perfect. I also find I'm able to camouflage my small eating portions with soup, yeah it gets kinda weird that is 90 degrees outside and I'm ordering soup. Lol. I don't think you should totally dodge the whole eating out, maybe get a late bite, and just say your eating light. I've noticed that more than anyone else I pay attention to my portions, my husband or family doesn't even realize how much I eat, or should I say how much I dont eat.

    Not Alone, Or Am I

You are not alone. The sleee will help you with your weight loss and many of your medical conditions. However it will not fix your self esteem, you sound like that maybe something you may want to start working on. The sleeve is a great too, but it is not a fix all, there are other factors that come into play, such as not being able to turn to food in times of stress. A great attitude always helps, wishing you the best.

    Has Anyone Changed Surgeons ?

I didn't have an endoscopy, but many doctors do require it. A good way to see what his patient mix is to attend a support group meeting. He may have had performed many procedures that you think. Hopefully his office does conduct support group meetings. He prob won't be @ the meeting, but that's the best way to talk and ask questions to previous patients.

    1St Day Of Liquid Diet

FYI....you can try EAS carb control shakes they sell them at Walmart and target, they taste pretty good.
  8. I do use something, but it's not for regrowth, it's more for coverage, so that hair loss is not as noticeable. I already had thinning hair because of my pcos, so this is a life saver for me, I just feel more confidant and not as self conscious. You can order it on amazon it's called fusion, they also sell something similar at Sally's it called topikk.

    11 Months Out - Pic Update :-)

You look great. I love your deck. I know that's a weird comment, but here in Chicago we have post stamp sized lawns, and there really isn't enough room for any fancy stuff.

    My Story: Short Fat Italian

Hello Gustavo, welcome and congrats on your procedure. Im sure you will do great. As for he abdominal pain, I felt like I did 1,000 sit ups, but it wasn't intolerable. I know there are some broth flavored protein, it maybe worth a try asking your doctor if you can have that, since it is pretty high in protein. I'm not Italian but I do love Italian food. I'm Coming up on 4 months post op, and some things that I love to eat that are sleeve friendly are, meatballs in sauce, chicken Parmesan (broiled chicken not fried), minestrone soup, and for a special treat I will get some authentic style Italian pizza, with the super thin crust...hmmm. Good luck to you and hope to see Posting around the board soon.

    Quick Questions

I think it's a gimmick, it is not realistic for long term weight loss. I feel as a wls patient it is very important to maintain a healthy normal diet, it is important to get into the habit of eating as much of your protein as possible, as opposed to drinking it via supplements. I may have one protein shake a day, but in no way do I drink it to replace a meal, I will usually have one between breakfast and lunch. The whole point of wls it to stop with programs such as the one you listed. I say stick to your doctors recommendations and try to navigate your diet with wholesome nutritious foods, best of luck to you.

I've Fallen And I Will Get Up!

First of all I have to say congrats, you were really pushing the boundaries, but you know what, you realized it and put an end to it, bravo. I hope now you realize the rules and steps your doctor has are there for your benefit. This is really a learning process, it doesn't happen over night. With a little patience, hard work and self evaluation you will get to where you need to be.

  17. Wow, very noticeable. You look great.
  18. That just sucks . Sorry your going thru that.
  19. That is super creepy. Sorry you had to experience that.
  20. Yes it does. Your body has to relearn how to eat, digest and tolerate food all over again. Try to take it really slow, if that still doesn't work try to go back on liquids.

    Sleeve Vs Gastric Bybass

Yes. I think a lot of surgeons push the gb because it's the gold standard. My doctor pushed it also and I was just admimant that I wanted the vsg. Be firm, it's your body and your decision.
  22. I'm 3.5 months out and already I can handle spicy foods.
