Wow, that sucks. Is going away for college an option?? That would get you out of the house. Maybe you can see a therapist, to help you with coping mechanism, you really can't change your mother, but you can change the way you react to her, this is something a therapist could help you with.

Have you tried EAS protein shakes? They're ready made and they are sold at Walmart / target. This are really the only ones I'll drink, once in a while I'll blend a banana in there and it's soo good. I do buy a small fruit cup everyday at work and that's what I snack on throughout the day. Maybe you could allow one of your snacks to be fruit. I also do eat veggies with my meal. I just feel its unrealistic for me to only eat meat. I always get the green giant frozen broccoli in cheese sauce. The 4 pack comes is perfect sleeve size containers and they're only 40 calories.

How Often Do You Pee?!
chitowngirl replied to Blugirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My suggestion is to always carry water wih you. I always have my bottle water with me any where I go even if it's for a 10min trip to the store. You would be suprise how much more water you consume that way. -
Just want to pause and say how great full I am for this wonderful life I'm living. I'm not living an extravagant life. My husband and I are working class people we don't even make 6 figures combined. We rent because we'd be broke in a tiny house if we bought in a decent area in Chicago, the schools here suck and I'm going to have to pay tuition for my son to attend private school, but you know I'm so ok with all of that. I love my life the only problem I had was my weight, and now I'm 4 months postop and loosing. It's surreal, a once upbeat happy person, I'm now on top of the world, I'm literally ecstatic!!! Life is great.

Before And After I Hope It Worked
chitowngirl replied to gatacous's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hot mama!!! You look great!! -
Apparently your husband is not sympathetic to your struggles. You apparently need this surgery as your health will continue to go downhill if you do not do something about it. You pretty much need to be in survival mode. I would go on with the process, hopefully your husband will change his mind during the process. Please don't think you don't have support because you have us. Also go to support groups an you confide in a close friend or family member?? Ultimately it is your body and your decision, there are going to people who just have negative views on wls. Let's hope once your husband sees the results of the procedure along with the hard work you put in, let's hope that will turn him over to our side. Good luck and don't be discouraged.

Im Not Ashamed But Need Help Coping With Questions I Dont Want To Answer...
chitowngirl replied to LorenaVaca's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok let me tell you I've lost 70 pounds and have not said a damn thing to anyone at work. Let them think what they want; I don't care. I'm not at all ashamed of my sleeve, but I just don't feel my medical condition is any of their business. And let me tell you I even eat lunch in a group, but IDGAF. I eat my little soup most days for lunch. Ive gotten compliments on how good I look, but it pretty much stops there. I just really don't care to be the topic of people's conversation, that's why I didn't tell my inlaws either. It is like the big pink elephant in the room, but aghh... They'll get over it. -
Today's Good Thing
chitowngirl replied to tkslexus's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I passed my 60g of protein, I am under 30g of carbs. Also my size 18 (**not plus store or women's size just plain ol size 18 from the non plus size store) are fitting me loose..after I super dried them, so I know I didnt just stretch them out, like my pre sleeve days. Yeah!!! -
I would definitely bring it up to her, also let her know that your husband is not very comfortable with it either. Considering she has never met him, I find it kind of weird that she would reach out to him like that. If it were me I'd be bothered. I'm sorry, but there are just some scandalous women out there. The only time I ever contacted my husbands friends directly was when I was planning a suprise party for him, and I needed their help to get him out of the house, at that I let the wives know that I would be contacting the guys. I couldn't imagine crossing that boundary, so just ask yourself if you would feel appropriate reaching out to her husband in a similar manner.

Cograts. Sounds like your doing great.

Pork grinds, just be careful with them they are high protein, and high calorie. I always get green giant broccoli and cheese single serving it's 40 calories if you buy the 4 pack they are perfect sleeve size. Those are not high protein, 2 grams, but it does have fiber and makes a good healthy snack.

Well talk about baptism by fire. Well congrats on your upcoming procedure. I had to wait like 2-3 months for my date to come, so trust me when I say at least you dont have 2-3 months of anticipation, second doubts, and driving yourself crazy. Good luck.

You look great congrats!!!

As far as the Acohol thing, I was in that situation, and as soon as we arrived at the the bar I went straight to the bathroom, and then I stopped at the bar on the way out and ordered a cranberry juice with heavy ice and a lime. No one questioned me.
-
I went thru that phase, I was eating about every 2 hours, considering that your consuming such a small amount, I don't think it's much of a problem. I'm assuming your not on a full diet yet, Once your on a full diet consuming proteins will fill you up more and for longer times.

I Know I'm Not Supposed To Compare...
chitowngirl replied to fell4falls's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Don't beat yourself up. Your journey is not complete, you are getting there at your body's pace. On the bright side, you prob won't have severe skin issues. Feel proud of every damn pound lost, because it's gone forever and not coming back. Start monitoring your food and protein intake, and be happy with the peace of mind that you are doing all you can. Best of luck to you!!! -
I would get one. I've only flown into Mexico, but every time you need the passport, more for getting back into the country that the other way around.

I work in healthcare and deal all day with insurance. Pre-existing clause does not consider if you have had prior coverage. I would start the 6 month pcp diet, just because your new insurance eis saying that you only need prior authorization, does not mean that you dont need the diet. When they do authorizations they follow a list of recommended guidelines for the certain procedure, most insurances request weight and diet history. I would do it just to be on the safe side. If I had to guess I'd say about 80% of insurances will not approve bariatric surgery with out supervised diet history.
-
Hmmm.... First I would make sure that the new insurance doesn't have a pre-existing clause. As long as it doesn't and the deductable and out of pocket expenses are not a issue, I would go for it.

Looking good. Hope your able to get back on track with your other health issues..

Whats Up? Am I Doomed To Be Fat Forever?
chitowngirl replied to tinydancer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Please do not freak out about 2 pounds. It is very natural for our bodies to fluctuate throughout the day. I personally have a fluctuation of 5 pounds at any given time. You could have possibly just weighed yourself at a bad time. My advise is if you know you get all hung up on the numbers, don't weigh your self so often. I know it's hard but the last thing you want to do is become a slave to the scale. Good luck. -
"all Things In Moderation"?
chitowngirl replied to JenniJune's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cheri I am with you on this one. I'm all about moderation, now this is not the old pre-sleeve moderation it's my new sleeve moderation. If I go to a party I dont want to ban myself from eatting a piece of cake. I want to say 95% of the time I am on my strict sleeve diet. However I feel it is unrealistic to think that I can deprive myself of foods that I enjoy. To those who can live the rest of their lives without ever eating a piece of cake, hey more power to you. But realistically that's not for me. I think it's all about finding what's right for you. If moderation means its going to take me an extra month or two to get to goal, I'm fine with that. Also I feel a big part of moderation is making myself accountable, I do this via MFP. Which has been a greAt tool for me. -
Making Your Final Goal
chitowngirl replied to VACookey's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'd like to add why do you feel the need to determine your goal weight now?? I say go for the 170 and reevaluate once you get there. Good luck to you. -
Good work, keep it up!!!
