Dr Said Nothing And Not Requiring Multi-Vitamin
melcat replied to donna12's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I take a liquid/gel multi vitamin and calcium +d everyday. And when I go to my follow UPS my doctor does make sure I'm still taking them. I agree with the earlier post, even without wls we should be taking daily vitamins. -
Thanks!

Does any body know of any good support groups in Baltimore, MD? The only one I know of is at John Hopkins Bayview, but it starts at 5:00 and I don't get of until 6:00.

Thanks for all the great tips, I'll try some and let you ask know how it works out.

Ok, so I'm seven months post-op and have lost 63lbs. I need to tone up mainly my upper arms and inner thighs. What are the best and most effective exercises I can do for these areas?

I carry around a sports bottle that holds 32Oz of water, I take it with me every where and sip it through out the day. When I have drank all the water from the bottle twice I know I had my minimum 64Oz. I usually add some kind of sugar free flavoring to it like Mio, crystal light or ocean spray.

Are You Your Own Worst Enemy?
melcat replied to Jean McMillan's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
I do two things to try and keep junk food at bay. 1) I put my healthy snacks in a different cabinet then all the other stuff and in the fridge I put my snacks at eye level and the others in the drawers. Yes I know the junk snacks are there but it takes much more thought to open up that drawer than just grabbing what is in front of me. By the time my hand is on the junk drawer I beat myself up (mentally) that 90% of the time I don't even open it. 2) I stay very busy, I find if I'm always moving and concentrating on exercise or other things food doesn't even come to mind. -
Wow, this post is really helpful. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

Hey Shellebelle, I'm seven months post-op and have lost 663lbs. I feel I have hit a plateau, do you have any suggestions to overcome this?

Hi my name is Melinda and I'm seven months post-op. I started at 240lbs and my current weight is 177lbs. I decided to have wls when noticed that the bigger I got the less pictures I was in. It was like I was erasing myself from history. I refused to let that happen so I made the decision that changed my life!

I know what you mean about the rides I'm excited to go on some roller coasters this weekend while we're on vacation in Florida. Feliciadawn-that is awesome I hope you continue with great success on your weight loss journey!

I agree with sam3841, I have done this and has worked for me so far. I also found that when I plateau I can replace one meal with a cappuccino protein shake and a small banana and it jumps starts my weight loss again. Don't beat yourself up and good luck!
