Hello, I've not been around much lately. I apologize for not staying in touch., I had Gastric Plication in MX on April 2, I've lost 16 lbs. I'm thrilled. I feel better than I've felt in a long time. Please feel free to email me gaynor.debra@att.net. I'm much better at answering email than getting on a board. debra

Whe reason they turned me down....I only have one co-morbility....guess I need to be ready for a coffin for bcbsil to pay. I'm going to Mexico ... The Obesity Control Center in Tiajana. It is a US accredited facility. Instead of lapband I'm having Gastric Plication Is Groundbreaking Option The newest weight loss procedure is known as Gastric Plication. It is being described as “the most exciting advancement in weight loss surgery since adjustable gastric banding.” The surgeons at OCC are proud to pioneer this procedure which has Have any of you been there? So I tell my husband show him the website, etc and he agrees it is the way to go. I made the mistake of tell our sons. One hit the roof. It was rather hurtful. "God made you the way you are and if he wanted you to change he would have made the ins. to pay for the surgery. When I told him I don't want to live this way. "Then we need to get you therapy." To get him to shut up I promised to see if I could find any where in the US that would be reasonably priced. I did look but to no avail. I wish I hadn't told him. I've told very few people. It was none of their business but felt I owed it to my children. I won't make that mistake again. -

Well I've cried most of the day. I got that out of the way and now I will act. I have already made reservations and scheduled surgery for Mexico. I'll keep you posted. Surgery date....April 2 If anything goes wrong. Which I don't think it will. It will be the INS co. fault.
-
I guess I'll appeal but I doubt it does any good. LOL maybe my blood pressure will get higher or something just kidding
-
They turned me down again. I only have one co-morbility. I guess I need to be on my death bed to get them to agree to the surgery.

That's wonderful. I wish I could say the same.

I'm so happy for you!

I really think I'll hear from the ins. company today. Last time I called they told me it had already been in the hands of the "physician" longer than usual. I don't know if that's a good sign or bad. I'm concerned it is bad. But I'm trying to have positive thinking.

Omg!!!! My Belly Itches Wicked Bad Helppppp!
DebraG replied to Kim Whiteman-Enos's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Certain pain meds will make you itch. I'm badly allergic to demerol so I always take morophine. Morophine always makes me itch. Loratabs will too, I'd say it is a side affect.
