I also had my first fill today, I was nervous also but it really was no big deal. I had mine in radiology as well, didn't hurt at all! I got 3.3 cc, and that's all I have. He originally put in 3.5, then said it was too restricted when I drank the barium. We'll see, I am already hungry and can't imagine doing 2 days of liquids! Wish us all luck!!!

Pain 1 Week Post Op

What did your doc say about taking your pain medications? Seems to me that if you are in pain while trying to sleep, you should take some before you go bed. I did that last night and I was able to sleep! -
Pain 1 Week Post Op

Help! I was banded on 3/1 also and felt great until yesterday. I was helping my parents purchase a new TV at Best Buy and just standing around for a little while as discussions were had. By the time I left there, I could hardly stand up, my port area was sore again. Nothing happened, I didn't feel anything in particular until I realized I was having trouble standing straight up. This progressed throughout the day yesterday, until I actually had to take a pain pill in the middle of the night. Today it feels better than yesterday, but certainly not as good as before my shopping excursion and now I am afraid to be on my feet too much again. Has anyone else had a set back like this??? -

Very Disappointed In Myself... :(

Please stop beating yourself up. I think that once you get the correct "fill", things will begin to click. This is still new to your body and you and your surgeon need to find the appropriate fill amount for you. In the meantime, I think it is a struggle not to self-sabotage. I am only 4 days post op and I can kind of see that happening already! Eat healthy and try to find healthy ways to fill you up until the band starts working effectively! Also, about walking 3 miles a day, if it is a leisurely walk, that will only burn about 150 calories at a time. We can eat right past that no problem. For exercise to be effective it has to make you sweat and be at least slightly challenging. I am not sure if you are pushing yourself or not, I just know this from my own experience. Good luck with this, hang in there. And let me know how you do for my future reference. :-) -
You are so lucky, I am ravished! Starving! I am eating yogurts and cottage cheese and low fat protein shakes. I feel like I could eat a steak, (slightly exaggerated, but not much!) I feel like I have no restriction at all. Other than that, physically I feel fine. I am bloated, my stomach looks like a basket ball, and I have occasional gas pain, but that is about it.

I also was banded on 3/1/12 and just joined the group. I am trying to remain very hopeful, although I am already quite distractingly hungry!!! You are so brave tackling this before your wedding in April. I wish you the very best in your recovery!
