Hi - I have been reading on this board for several months, but only found this group today. I have read the entire thread. Thank you to all who have posted to this group.
I was beginning to think I was the only one who had so far to go. I lost 30 lbs on my pre-surgery diet over a period of 4 months. I had surgery 12/28 and weighed in at 337. I actually celebrated when my weight dropped below 300 lbs.
By my 3 month followup last month I was at 287. I weighed at the gym last week, but it showed I was at 292 - I was upset, because I have been doing well and exercizing at least 2 times per week for an hour. However, I checked it with no weight on it and it didn't balance until the scale was at 12 lbs. I haven't weighed since then, but I plan to tonight at the gym (I'll check the scale empty before I weigh though).
I know it seems stupid but I was so excited last week when I bought a pair of jeans at Walmart AND THEY FIT!!! I didn't have to go to the speciality store to get jeans.
I can wear smaller sizes, but I don't feel smaller...I guess my brain isn't keeping up. I was in a size 30 jeans (tight) before surgery and am wearing a 24 now. I actually had to buy jeans because I couldn't keep my oldest small pair pulled up. It doesn't seem quite real though.
Thanks for being here.
