I would not go. I had to travel out of town to my dr office a couple of times when I was 9-12 days out. I felt fine driving but afterwards I felt horrid! My port hurt my back hurt. It was no fun at all!

That's awesome! U get to eat ur decadent foods with no guilt or calories! It's prob ur sub-conscience dealing with the loss of food!

They used ladicane on me as well. About four shots. My hubby went with. he was lookin a little green by the end of it hehe. They do get easier and easier on the plus side. I wish I lived close to u. I'd sit in the lobby with the little ones.

I don't say this to scare u but because I think u really want to know. My first fill was horrible. Took ages for him to find the port, and he dug and dug and dug. I started by laying down then stood up and when I started blacking out laid down again. He stuck me around nine times! When he finally found it I took a pic which I now always show him. Maybe most ppl have it easy and I hope u do too but some ppl do not and I hate the idea of someone telling u it's gonna be a breeze when u have ur babies in there. Maybe it will be super easy and stress free. Also I feel like crap most of the day after. Again, most ppl don't but some of us do. I'm sorry if I scared u but I wanted u to be prepared just in case!

I gave up my diet cokes (sad sigh). I drink a lot of iced tea sweetened with splenda. I could never ever give that up!

I can't lay down after eating either. I get horrible heart burn. I have to wait at least an hour sometimes more

Just wanted to take a moment to thank all of u banders that have been around the block but still come here and advise and encourage us that haven't been around long. Puréed foods can still be pretty thick. U have to be able to sip thru a straw right now by watering down with milk, water, broth etc.

I had that too around day five or six it started and lasted a couple of weeks. My dr said it was the muscle healing around the port. It flipping hurt! I was convinced I had popped a stitch and it was stabbing me

Mine was not filled. Waited three weeks for first fill of 3.5cc

Day 3? Of course that is what u r feeling! Mine hit day four.y husband got up for work and found me sitting in the dark on the couch crying! Talk about crazy lady hehe. I just felt like crap. So bloated and yucky. I realized I hadn't had a BM since surgery and after my doc told me milk of mag, I felt brand new! Not one regret since! This is such a hard time for u. U just have to get thru this and u will be so happy with all ur hard work

When u eat solids it cause ur stomach to grind. Your stitches have not healed yet. When u eat and it grinds, it can pop stitches which will make slips easier later on. It's very hard but u have to stick to ur post op diet. U will be glad u did!

The band shouldn't effect ur pregnancy or deliveries. Ur doctor may want to remove ur fill tho some don't. They want u to wait for at least a year before getting pregnant

The gastric balloon is not available in the US but I have read about it. It is a short term fix but also very simple and doesn't require surgery. It is available in Canada. Costs around 4500 US dollars
