Ok it was 2 weeks to surgery when this started n I was freaking out!! I told my doctor I'd never forgive her if I had to postpone! She promised to rush everything. She got my cardiologist appntmnt the next day and when he heard how soon it was, he had me call the surgery center and made them stay on the line while he faxed the clearance. Everyone was great, I was just a nervous wreck! Everything was completed two days before surgery!

I bought a bottle of vitamin e oil (less than 5 bucks) and have been using it a couple times a day. I'm shocked at how great my scars already look just 3 weeks out!

I had an abnormal EKG as well. Doctors made a big deal n sent me to cardiologist. He did a 3rd EKG and said it was no biggie. My heart sits a little tilted and makes it look thick at the bottom. They freaked me out for no reason

I am 3 weeks post-op tomorrow and down 30 lbs (counting pre-op). I am doing pretty good. I do get hungry between meals but I just drink lots of water to combat it. I am walking with my fiancé on the weekends tons but not much really other than that. I am clear for the pool in one more week and as my pool is heated and hot tub is amazing I am very excited to start swimming! I have a free gym at my apartment as well but don't like going by myself so unless I find a work out buddy I'm not gonna do that at least for now. I still get sore around my port sometimes but over all doing really well. Getting my first fill this Saturday so hopefully I won't have to "white knuckle" it so much!

Thank u for sharing guitar4life. It is fascinating to me to hear from a mans point of view. Honestly I've always thought "chunky" men had it easier than girls. I love that your list is so similar to us!

What I want most is to not have to worry when I go out with friends about what they want to do and whether I will be able to do it or be embarrassed because I won't fit or will be too heavy! I want to have a lap to hold babies in NOT sit them on top of my belly! I want to wear bright colors I want to not be embarrassed to meet people because I don't want them to know how fat I am! I want for people not to have to "get to know me" before they like me! People always like me when they get to know me but to men I am invisible at first I want to feel good about me! I want to look at all of me in the mirror not just focus on my hair etc. when I am getting ready in the mornings I want to stop hiding from cameras!

If one of your children or your husband needed a surgery that would lengthen their lives and improve their quality of life, would u hesitate to do anything in your means to provide that for them? You r no different, u are giving your family time with you! Does that sound like something you should feel guilty about?

I would continue if at all possible. Like u I wanted it more than anything!

Sweetsoutherngirl, I had my tom about a week after surgery and swear I thought I was gonna die! I cameon here and asked about and some lady made fun of me saying the band doesn't effect ur womb. I'm not completely stupid but my body has gone thru a lot and it stands to reason to me that stress and other things can effect ur period then why not this? I was embarrassed to say anything else after that so I'm glad u brought it up

Welcome Brandi. I was banded 3-1-12. I was 290 when I started pre-op and an down to 260 now. I am so proud of all of us and how much we want this shows!!

I felt like all I did was pee the first week (of course that's cause I was drinking as much water as an elephant!)

It's not as bad as it sounds. It is what I was most worried about! I always order a water if I go out just for security for myself but not drinking with the meal hasn't been too hard. I do time right up to the thirty min after to drink tho and usually carry a drink with me wherever I go so I can have some as soon as the thirty min are up but a lot of that is so that I make sure I get in all the water I am supposed to drink every day. I promise u can do it!

Della, It's hard to imagine what I would have done if my fiance had done that but I would hope that If I took a day and then told him I had thought about it but it is really something I feel that I need to do for myself (and for us) and I just really need him to support me in my decision even if it makes him nervous that he would understand where I am coming from. I would have been heartbroken to have not been able to get the surgery for whatever reason and honestly if my sig other had been the reason, I would have resented him in the long run.

When I'm starving I drink water, I mean lots of water. Makes me slush around but I'm not hungry anymore. If I'm hungry half an hour after that then I eat something

I'm really confused. R we counting calories or carbs? If u eat low carb u get too many calories and if u eat low cal, well u get my point. I have been doing low cal but everyone keeps saying low carb (which I much prefer). Which should I be doing? I really want to succeed at this!

I agree with lady from irvine (love ur posts. Ur so funny). I only told my fiance. It's no ones business! I have enough stress from this without adding everyone watching and waiting for me to fail!

It will be In a little town called Fort Payne which is about 1/2 an hour south of Chattanoona TN. I just hope I don't have to start paying when it is free here

I just HAVE to brag a little. I went out to dinner with my fiancé tonight and the hostess led us to a booth. I was about to ask for a table instead when I just decided to try the booth and see. Well, not only did I fit in the booth but there was a good 3-4 inches between me and the table!! I was beaming! I told my fiancé and he was high fiving me and praising my hard work! I was so happy I didn't want to eat hehe!!!

Bama girl I am currently in Cali where I got my surgery but will be moving to NE bama in a few months. A bit concerned about after care/fills. Hoping for a good place and also that ins will pick up the cost

It was such an amazing feeling! I had to go down a size on my pants because they wouldn't stay up. Made me one very happy girl!!

Also he took me to bath and body works and bought me my favorite lotion!

When I had my surgery they gave me the gown and left for me to dress. When she came back in she said "oh u can leave the undies on" so I put then back on. Idk that was my experience. I was a little embarrassed that I had taken them off and she had to tell me to put them back on
