I searched on the forums "Garcia pictures" and foun this. This lady is almost at goal four months out. I can't link, but here is a picture of the thread so you can search it.
 

Now hat you mention it though, you're right. I haven't seen a lot of images or stories from 6m+ Down the road from dr Garcia. Hm.
 
Now you've got me curious. . If I come up with anything, I'll post it.
 
I'm about 95% sure that I'm goin w dr. Garcia too. Do you have to wait until feb/march too? Maybe we can be sleeve buddies.

Amytug, I have noticed that too.. there is on Dr. I have researched on here where it seems like all of his patients lose faster than others. Plus I dont see a lot of weightloss checkins from Dr. Garcia's patients, you know like 6months later, now I am going with him, because I have researched and researched, watched youtube and spoken with Alma and the whole nine. I just want to know, what a few patients progress is down the line.

Whatever you do... Don't ask questions! Lol! Teasing, of course. I've noticed results vary too, but I think it probably has more to with the individual, there body's response to the weight loss, and of course there commitment to a lifestyle overhaul. And the sleeve size probably has some affect. Just my thoughts.

I have noticed that with some surgeons it seems like the people I talk to who used that surgeon lost weight slower than others

I have my sleeve done at the end of August in Tijuana Mexico with dr. Almanza... Wonderful experience they are in a clinic Which if you think about it a lot of your follow up appointments in aftercare is going to be in a place like that Back in the States not in a full blown hospital. They are friendly knowledgeable and very clean . After I lose my weight completely I will be going back for a makeover. They do not use the recovery house anymore. You send 1 or 2 nights at the clinic which has a Separate sterile operating room. Then you stay at Hotel ticuan For the next 1 or 2 night depending on how you are recovering. I did not have to pay for any of the hotel but I went by myself Because I did not want to have to deal with other people in real food Rate after my surgery and trying to recover. You only have 1 other roommate at the clinic in the hotel. But if you want your own room you can choose to pay for that by yourself. Dr almanza is a sleeve patient himself. Hope that whatever decision you make is yours to make from the heart. I do not regret any moment of my journey or my decision.

Oh yeah - and I'd l ike to stand up at church without pulling my dress out of my butt.

I'm 36 & just got sleeved 7.5 weeks ago. It would have been nice to do it sooner, but that may have changed the course of my life & I might have missed the happiness I found through the path I took. Plus I've had 4 kids & they might have ruined a perfect body. They're like that....suck the pretty right out of you....haha!!

Haha. Im also looking forward to this being my last fat Christmas/New Years!!

Happy Being Thankful Day everyone!!! I am personally thankful for everyone on here for being you. The mixture of backgrounds, cultures, and experiences are a great resource of information and fresh ways to think about making this decision.
Good or bad, we need the information. I don't care if it is gift wrapped or slapped on my forehead.

I am currently in Mexico and i was just sleeved by Dr. Garcia. The facility is great and so is the hotel that they put you in. Dr. Garcia was really hands on with his trusty ipad giving me a visual display of how and what he was going to do during the surgery. I will be going home in a day or so. Im feeling great and no complications so far.......fingers crossed! You will be fine. I was the only surgery for Dr. Garcia on the day that i came so it made me feel more comfortable that i was the only one for the day. Its too many posts for me to take offense. At the end of the day, its my decison, my confident decision regardless to who posts what. This site is for information and support and that is what I take it as because when step into that OR, its on me...Like you SweetTee....I want to know all I can,even though my decision is made. And nobody made that for me but me.

This forum is about info sharing and that is all I am doing. Take it as you like.

Experiences posted should definitely be first-hand because things can get changed as they pass from person to person, lost in translation, etc., so if the poster did have a friend with a bad experience with the coordinator, it should be posted by the person who experienced these issues.

I want all the information I can get, the vinegar and the honey.....

Wow. It staggers the mind at your apparent malicious glee over a patient who supposedly had a bad experience with ALM and Dr. Garcia. Any credibility your supposed experience had is shattered IMO by your attitude and your implied satisfaction at reporting "another" bad experience. Which is a shame because this forum is designed to support, share, and inform people who are in the midst of making a life changing decision... Surgery... And out of their comfort zone... Home. I'm not sure of your motives. Gossip? Sabotage? Feeling vindicated that you're "right" about ALM? It doesn't even matter now. Awful that an opportunity to share experiences is turned into at best, gloating and at worst, lies and sabotage.
