  1. For the past few weeks I have been noticing a lot of unexplainable bruises. Has anyone else had this issue? They are not your normal small bruises, the ones I'm getting are huge and change colors drastically. Out of my entire recovery process this has been my only issue. Guess its time to head back to the doctors!

  2. Working out after surgery has been quite a struggle. For the first few weeks I started out with the bike, then added the treadmill. Slowly I added in my arm band and small weights. As of tonight I added in crunches! It was an amazing feeling to be able to do 50 crunches and not struggle! 4 months ago my stomach would have been in the way and prevented me from accomplishing this. I am soo happy I decided to have my sleeve surgery. It's an amazing feeling being able to see my life change for the better day by day!

  3. I found that about two months out Water got annoying. So I switched it up with crystal light flavor packets and lemons. Also I drink power aid zero's to switch it up. But there are still times I crave ice cold water.

  4. Thanks! I'm going to attempt it this weekend. Hopefully it goes well! Since surgery I've only gotten sick twice because of food choices, and I don't want to get sick over this! But il never know until I try!

  5. Thank you. I feel quite alone in this process' date=' didn't tell many people, so this site has become my sanity for the past 2 weeks.[/quote']

I know how that is! I didn't tell many people at all! Some people make things like this more of a hassle and voice their opinions too much. But sometimes it's nice to have people by your side. But since joining this site a few days ago It has made me feel a lot better neon able to talk to people who are going through the same things as I am, vise versa. Because anyone who has not has this surgery really can't relate to us

  6. I'm four months post op and craving salad! The only thing is, is that I'm to afraid to try it :( I had bad experiences with spinach so salad scares me even worse! Has anyone post op tried salad? If so how far out were you?

  7. Hi All' date='

I had my surgery on Tuesday, March 6, and I am getting accostomed to the sleeve. This is my first full day home, and I've been drinking as much as I can.

I'm wondering if everyone experiences a lot of gas. Is that from the "higher pressure" of the "system"? I hear gurgling, like a slow drain, then moments later, gas.

I'm still nervous about this decision, I am terrible at being a patient...My family is driving me crazy too, even my dog. This is far more emotional than I expected.

    Thanks for any insight.[/quote']

Congrats on your surgery! I myself had my surgery done on nov 10th and the first few days i had a lot of gas. It's mainly from them being in your stomach and letting air in. I Am four months out now and every now and then I have gas issues but nothing horrible. It the new life style takes a lot of getting used to, but it happens over time. You will notice a lot of differences from " before and after"

  8. I'm scheduled for surgery on 3/13 but I'm having a difficult time with the pre op liquid diet. I'm so hungry. Physically I feel hunger pains and it's getting harder to ignore. How long were some of your pre op diets? My BMI is a 47 and I was told 7-day liquids.< /div>

I was on a "lean and green" diet for two weeks prior to my surgery. I had to drink five shakes a day And at dinner time I could have half a cup of salad and a small piece of meat. That itself wa very hard to go from eating whenever I wanted to not eating really anything. But the one thing I noticed was that the first few days were horrible, but once you get past a few days it gets a lot easier! You won't even think about eating or being hungry. If you having issues with hunger you could switch up shakes if the dr says its ok. Sometimes switching things up helps!

  9. Well saw my surgeon today and got my date.....I will be sleeved on Monday....yes this Monday March 12th.......so excited and so nervous as this will be my first surgery ever.......any suggestions for after? What to bring to the hospital would be helpful' date=' surgeon said if all goes well I go home on Wednesday.....Please be praying for me.....[/quote']

Your nerves are going to be all over the place until you are in "la la land"Monday. But after your surgery you will feel soo relieved! I will say, after surgery you will be in a little bit of pain, so don't be afraid to use what ever medication they give you. For me, I felt very sore the first few hours afterwards but over night I felt fine again. Make sure you take lots of loose outfits.. Mostly stretchy outfits. And anything that you find comforting to you. It's such a quick stay at the hospital whic is nice, because recovery at home makes things soo much better! All in all I wish you the best of luck and keep us updated!

  10. Thank you. I guess its just how fast its coming up. I just worry about my babies so much and I know I need this for them but I am so afraid of the unknown

I remember four months ago when my date finally arrived. It's quite a roller coaster of emotions. Try not to think about the unknown, yer focus on the future! Keep your head up. Once you wake up all your fears will be gone and you will just focus on recovery and finding out what your better, healthier life has in store for you!

  11. Hey everyone! Im new to this site and my surg is Mar 19. Im nervous about anestheia and leaving my kids. Any words of wisdom?

I will admit, it is quite a scary experience. There is not much anyone can say or do to ease the nerves. But what I can say is that you are making a great life changing decision that takes a lot of courage! The anesthesia isn't all that bad, you really don't even remember being put to sleep. And have no fear about your kids, because they will be right beside you when you wake up! I wish you the best of luck with your experience! Everything will go just fine!
