My nutritionist pointed me in the direction of these tortillas from a company called La Tortilla. They have lots of different flavored tortillas to use for wraps and such. They're low carb, contain 5-8 grams of protein, and are high fiber. http://latortillafactory.com/products-3.aspx

I'm lucky in this department, I'm not a beef fan. Before I only ate poultry and some fish (but I'm super picky with fish, really not a seafood fan).

Thanks for the great suggestions!

You'll make it! And for me, once I got on mushies everything got better. I didn't miss eating as much, and could have something other than sweet Protein drinks all the time.

I've been cleared! I can exercise, hoop dance, and eat real food again! I'm mostly excited about reuniting with my hula hoop! I've missed her.

Glad to know I'm not the only one.

15 Days To Go ...and I Realize Im Scared
MoreganK replied to angelofmercy36's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Whenever I got that scared to death feeling, I would remind myself of all the reasons that I decided to do the surgery in the first place and that always calmed me down. Scary surgery that will potentially offer me a month or so of discomfort vs. health issues, a life time of struggling, being uncomfortable in my own skin, etc.... and suddenly was back on track that scary surgery was just that. And sometimes, we have to face our fears to get to the good stuff. If you're sure that you've made the right decision and weighed the pros and cons and still come back to surgery, just try to think about life 6 months after surgery and how great you're going to be! -
If your doc allows it, yogurt is a great source of protein if you get Greek yogurt. I've been using either Stonybrook Farms or Dannon's Greek yogurts, they have about 13 grams of protein each container. Just take time to eat it all. Oh, and I highly recommend the Key Lime flavor of the Dannon variety, I just discovered it and its yummy.

Wow, 90!? I've been struggling some days with the 60 my doc and nut recommend. I think at this stage you can't get too much, just because its hard for us to eat much. I try to hit between 60-80 grams a day.

I think at 6 weeks out you should be safe, but double check with your doc. They don't want us eating seeds and stuff because the seeds can get in the staple line and cause an infection in your stomach. But, I think at 6 weeks you should be healed enough that, hopefully thats not an issue.

Ok, this seems like the place to bring up this question. So, my fellow PCOSers.... after not having a period for 7 months, and now losing 42 pounds, I'm having the period from hell. I sorta expected it, but wowwie, is it heavy. I'm not sure when I should be alarmed. I'm on day 2 of the worry flow. Last year, my Ob-gyn gave me a pill to induce my period because I had a thick build up in my uterine wall from not properly cycling... so, I know thats whats happening. Its just concerning.... and uncomfortable. Anyone else deal with something similar?

June Sleevers! Hows It Going?
MoreganK replied to petite-size-me!'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm down 42 pounds. 12 pounds pre-op. I'm just floored at this. I have my 2nd post surgery follow-up with the doc on Tuesday. I'm hoping I graduate to real food! -
My skin period has been dry and flaky in places. I was wondering why as well. I've been making 50 -60 oz of water, so it shouldn't be a dehydration thing. I am seeing my surgeon for a follow up next Tuesday, I plan on talking to him about it.

Congratulations! I was one month out on the 27th. I had some rough patches, but am finally getting comfortable with things and starting like my sleevie!

Goal Weight. - How You Get The Number?
MoreganK replied to scorpion509's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor asked me my goal and I told him 155, I'm 5'8 and large framed. He said, he'd feel better if I shoot for 175. He thought 155 would make me look sickly. So, I agreed, and figure when I get there I can assess what I look like and decide if I want to loss 10 more pounds or more. -
What Week Did You Start Your Mushies And What Did You Have?
MoreganK replied to Kiki Von Moonshine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started mine week 3, and I'm on it for 5 weeks. I'm just starting week 3 of mushies. So far, ive had scrambled eggs, egg salad, tuna salad, fat free refried pinto & black beans, oatmeal, applesauce, Greek yogurt, peanut butter, laughing cow cheese, ricotta cheese, tomato soup, mushroom soup.....And mixed stuff in with those things. Like a dollup of cheese melted on beans with 2 tsp. of a mild salsa. Mmm! -
It's a wiki answer to the question, but it does say that taller people have larger organs, and uses the stomach as an example. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Do_tall_people_have_larger_organs_than_short_people

I am a month out, just yesterday. I have noticed I can handle more consumption than I thought I would or it sounds like others are handling. It worried me as well.

How far out are you?

There is a dish at La Madeline that, presurgery, I loved. It is scrambled egg with Swiss cheese wrapped in a crepe and smothered in mushroom sauce. Soo good! Two weeks into mushies now, I've grown more experimental. I scrambled an egg using Pam in the pan, mixed with 1 tbsp. skim milk, pepper to taste, Morton's no salt (just a pinch), slice of american cheese (its what I had),I then made Amy's mushroom soup and poured two table spoons of soup over my egg. OMG it was so good!! And had a similar taste to my favorite dish, and far less fattening. Anyone else have some mushie experiments gone right?

What do you use to "spaghetti" the zucchini?

I thought they were rubbery too, but then again I was a dork and didn't realize that the tofu noodles are basically already cooked. I just tossed them in a pot of boiling water for 20 minutes like regular noodles. They got all stuck together and weird. I want to try them again, this time I'll read the instructions better. Heh.
