Stocking My House And The Perfect Diet
Liberated Sleeve replied to disneyteach's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome!! I had SF popsicles, SF Jello, FUZE Slenderize drinks, Crystal Light, Propel Zero Water, chicken/beef broth, New whey Protein shots (42g each)and Protein powder for shakes. I was on a 21 day clear liquid diet after surgery (except he allowed Protein Shakes after 1st week) so I had everything I needed. If you are allowed soft or pureed foods in week 2 pickup some Greek yogurts, cottage cheese, cream Soups, etc. Don't overstock on the stuff though because in the beginning you won't be able to eat much anyway. Can't help you much on the 100 lb loss yet. I am more or less following Stage 2/3 of the Atkins plan. It has been working for me. Mostly protein first is the key, so we stay full longer and don't lose muscle mass as we lose weight. I took off 6 weeks, which is more time then most people because I had short term disability at work so I was able to heal completely, both mentally and physically before I returned. My mind was a fog for the first few weeks after surgery due to not having much food intake and it was great to have a eating/drinking schedule established before returning to the work place. Good luck and congrats on your surgery! -

When Are Nuts And Almonds Generally Allowed?
Liberated Sleeve replied to AngieG0410's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Almonds and sunflower seeds are in my foods to eat for healthy fats starting with solid foods which was 5 full weeks out. I am now 7 weeks out and just the last couple days started a few almonds chewing really well. Strawberries have scared me because of the tiny black seeds too, but my doctor didn't say anything about them. -

Protein And Constipation - Weight Gain

Are you getting in the amount of water you need? -
I'm kinda stuck around this 206 mark and am guessing it will move at some point. Hoping anyway. I have been floating back and forth here for over a week. I am getting anywhere from 700-1000 calories a day as intake but then my exercise drops it by about 300, sometimes a little more. I am confused if I am suppose to eat more to have a net of 1000 or what? My NUT's instructions are only to be low carb - keep them under 30. Well I am doing that. I know I could do only liquids and start the loss again but I don't want to live on liquids forever and shouldn't I be consuming foods for my other organs? Any comments?

Hoping They Dont Postpone My Surgery
Liberated Sleeve replied to D1NOnlySexyLady's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon provided different choices. The Bariatric Advantage was one of them but I used Designer Whey and picked it up at the grocery store. She should give you guidelines as to what they want the protein shake to consist of I would think. Doubt she will cancel your surgery if you stick closely to your diet and have lost some weight by surgery. Praying that your surgery will move forward as scheduled for you! -
I guess it's different for each of us. I drink one cup every morning with no problems. Don't need benefiber or other laxatives and it doesn't bother my tummy. Sorry you can't do it.

Liberated Sleeve replied to Sandra_Baby87's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use Designer Whey - $15-19 depending on where you buy it. I like the chocolate one. 2lbs last about 1 week drinking 2 shakes a day. -
Help Miserable And Constipated
Liberated Sleeve replied to ddd8704's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cup of coffee works wonders if you can't get out. I started drinking one every morning and no problems. It's the only caffeine I have and drink plenty of fluids during the day so it works for me. -
AWESOME and Congrats!! Let's call it TWO Fabulous for this week anyway! LOL -

I didn't worry about calories or carbs during my liquid phase post op.

Good Sources Of Mushy Foods?
Liberated Sleeve replied to jiggyjen1982@yahoo.com's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just be careful about buying too much. You aren't going to be able to eat a whole lot so don't get stuck with a bunch of mushy makings you wouldn't want to eat later Pick a few and go with that for a while. -

No, just did the same diet for 2 weeks prior to surgery. No laxatives or colon cleanse.
