Pre-Op Surgery Date 3/23/12
Liberated Sleeve replied to Momstertimes3's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You will do fine!! I found about in the middle of the diet that every once in a while I threw the meal in for lunch instead of dinner and moved the shake to dinner. That worked to help battle that long day without the food. I was going to the gym after work and doing a few small things to help strengthen me before surgery so I wasn't getting home until around 7 ish anyway. Good luck and look forward to you posting you've been sleeved!! -
Is It Safe..
Liberated Sleeve replied to PreciousCargo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I guess I am on day 7? Not sure if I count the day of surgery in my post-op counts or not, but I don't guess anyone really cares right? LOL I hadn't had a bowel movement all week but kept telling myself I really wasn't putting much in other then liquids and then today I decided I would search the forums on "constipation" just to see what advice might be out there and low and behold as I am searching nature comes along on her own and although it wasn't much I am guessing it was about what I have input!! TMI I know but wanted to type something and this was the closest thing to my heart!! -

In The Beginning (My Current Story)
Liberated Sleeve commented on VSG 4 Me's blog entry in A Winning Loser with VSG
Good luck and hope you get your revision soon! Yes NSAIDS are on the list; however when I asked my surgeon about taking them in the future if I required another neck surgery that would require I take NSAIDS to help reduce the swelling what then? He did state that they would allow short term use of them and provide a "purple pill" (lol - I am sure he means Nexium) to take along with it to help prevent ulcers. So, definitely discuss it with your surgeon further. -

Day 4: I Think My Reserves Are Depleting
Liberated Sleeve commented on Shemy-away's blog entry in Rhapsody's Rants
I know Rhapsody has had some pain when swallowing so not sure what the best method for you is. I am constantly sipping on something. I have a 10 oz bottle and I drink everything out of it. If I am drinking liquid protein I put it in that bottle too and sometimes I pour half the liquid protein in and add water to make it thinner. I get my protein and my water. Also, that way I know my goal is to drink 6 of those a day minimum. If I go over that great. I drink my broth very warm out of a teacup and that is extra if I finish my 6th bottle and if not it goes towards my goal of 60-64 oz of liquids. You are doing a great job Rhapsody!! Keep taking those sips and create a method that makes it easier for you! -
Also I am able to chew gum too and that helps although I don't know if I am in Ketosis yet.

Yes, walk walk walk! Doctors say the pain is the gas! I also used GAS X strips. Walk every chance you get even if just once or twice around the hallway

Ugh I Hate My Lap-Band!
Liberated Sleeve replied to DanityChai's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am so glad that I happened across the sleeve by accident when I was researching the LapBand, because I was pretty much convienced if I was going to have surgery that I would do the LapBand. Thank God I found the Sleeve instead and avoided all those issues. Although to be fair I imagine there are some people that have no problems at all with their bands. -

Calm Before The Storm?
Liberated Sleeve replied to emelia.larock's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
5 days out myself. The morphine made me feel weird, nauseated and groggy. They switched over to the Elixir Lortab and that made all the difference in the world. Don't fear the pain as they will find the right pain meds for you and you don't even know for sure if you will have the worst pain, you could be one of the ones that has little to no pain. What a sweet husband!!! You will look dashing walking the halls and do walk the halls! Walking is one of the best medicines against the gas buildups!! Good luck with your surgery!! -
