Liberated Sleeve replied to gmanbat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Interesting and yes I have wondered about the fiber as well. It is a question I intend to bring up with my doctor tomorrow at my 10 day Post - Op follow-up. I will use your scenario as a question. -
Nightgown Or Housedress?
Liberated Sleeve replied to Jswilbur's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ended up with a pullover gown with pockets and no sleeves because I am always hot too! Got it on just fine with the IV because they unhooked my IV when I went to the restroom anyway. It was awesome! Good luck with your shopping! -

Consider it done! God bless!! -
Good for you. Stay on track surgery buddy! Just remember that although that cheese, etc might taste good your stomach needs time to heal and having a leak because you couldn't say no to a chicken nugget isn't worth it!

Congrats and hope to have the same results when I have my labs done!!

I changed insurances at work during Open Enrollment period. I did my research and found out which one did cover WLS. The premiums were higher but overall it was around $350 more a year which wasn't anything compared to self pay even in Mexico. If you don't have insurance at work IowaAndy may be right about finding insurance on your own. If you don't want the Mexico route, which I see nothing wrong with as many people on this forum have done this and had magnificent results, but if it isn't for you I did notice a "Topic" in one of the forums titled "$8000 Self pay in the US" and someone had found a very reputable doctor in the US that was doing the surgery for less because they had moved their business to a different state. You may want to check that out and see if you could get financing. Good luck on your journey!!

6 Days Post-Op And Have Nsv's Already!
Liberated Sleeve posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I weighed 222 on surgery day - so during surgery and the 2 days in the hospital the IV fluids managed to allow me to gain 6 lbs. Lost 4 of them in days 3 and 4 post op - days 4 and 5 have not seen the scale move. But I'm sure I am not done yet! NSV's - 1) Have not taken any diabetes medications since two days before surgery (I was on 3) 2) Have not taken any high blood pressure medications since one day before surgery (I was on 2) Pretty sure the high blood pressure medications are done. Not sure if the diabetes medications are gone forever, but my numbers are really good and I do believe that once I start eating real food again and exercising at a deeper level, those medications are history too!! Those were two of the main reasons I had the surgery in the first place so it is already winning BIG in my humble opinion!!- 9 replies
