Nsv Sure Does Help With The Healing Process
Liberated Sleeve replied to Deb of Maryland's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
And what is this "only lost 26lbs"?? - that is a whole lot of weight my dear! It wouldn't be I "only gained 26lbs" would it??? Don't be hard on yourself!! You made a positive decision to change your life and every pound and NSV counts towards that goal to be healthy!! -

Pre Operative Diet
Liberated Sleeve replied to sallynew's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The purpose is to shrink the liver since it lays on top of the stomach. This makes the surgery easier for the surgeon. It also allows you to get used to the liquid diet you will be on after surgery. -

3 Days Post Op... Eyes Are Hungry
Liberated Sleeve replied to New1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just keep reading these boards. You will soon realize that you are not giving up food forever! You will eventually get to eat alot of the things you loved in the past, just the way you eat them and the quantities will change. -
I am 11 days out and doing great - no real issues at all. Drinking okay, still on liquids and haven't really had a lot of pain, some of course, but I did just have major surgery. I did take my pain killers as prescribed (liquid lortab). I have done exactly what my surgeon told me to do from the beginning of the whole experience, including the Post-Op diet and am happy so far. Walk, walk, walk before and after surgery. Some people have different experiences. Mine so far has been all positive.

The Elephant In The Room....
Liberated Sleeve replied to mrjgetssleeved's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, it saddens me that they speak so openly about the epidemic of obesity but yet the insurance industries keep excluding any WLS from their policies. Not everyone can afford to self-pay or even afford insurance for that matter. However if you do see someone that does seem to be running in the money you do wonder why they might not seek such an option for themselves or then again maybe they are quite content with their circumstances. I don't believe that all overweight people are unhappy with themselves. Just a thought?? I sought the surgery to help with several issues: Diabetes, HBP, sleep Apnea and weight. -
Brief fleeting moment during my first walk around the hallway of the hospital, but I had read enough on this board to know that it was coming and to my great delight it left just as quickly as it appeared. I am very happy with my new sleeve - 11 days out and still on Clear liquids. Kinda bored some with the clears but really don't have an appetite so it's not like I am craving anything. Chewing gum and popsicles for the need to chew.

Just Came Out Of Recovery!
Liberated Sleeve replied to soon2bslim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't have one after surgery either once in my room. When I asked if I would have one, they said that they always do one in the operating room right after surgery. If any complications arise afterwards they will do one, but not necessary. So far so good -
Just Came Out Of Recovery!
Liberated Sleeve replied to soon2bslim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, I got ice chips too - ask for some! Also, if you are having major nausea ask the nurse for some meds, they pumped that stuff right into my IV and no more nausea instantly!! -
You are lucky at all of the jobs that I have had only offer one insurance coverage policy and not a second to choose from. Yes, I do feel very lucky. I work for a good company that does care about their employees and offers a few insurance options. I know alot of people out there are not quite so fortunate!
