Hi, I'm scheduled for surgery march 30th and am so nervous:( never had any surgery before! My bmi is 30...but I Absolutley hate being overweight...today I had to go get size 16 pants because all my other pants are killing me... Anyone out there with the same starting bmi? Just wondering what you're weight loss was like...I know starting from a higher bmi the weight loss is faster... So great to hear all the success stories! Congratulations to all that have succeeded with their journey!

Anyone getting banded up here ?
-
I got my band March 30th....everything went well. I got my first fill April 27th.... I am feeling nothing in terms of restriction...I know that I will need a few more fills until I get to the green zone. Would love to hear stories of those of you, that lost no weight the first two months until you got proper restriction and than started losing weight like crazy.... I am so discouraged, disappointed and kind of angry that I've lost 0 pounds-but have gone through surgery and paid 16k....it's depressing. I know that I have to be patient...blah blah blah....but it's still hard. So any success stories are welcome

Thanks everyone for your support.... I love hearing your stories!!! Yes....I have negative amount of patience!

18Hrs Post Op And In So Much Pain!!
iriegirl replied to chaya's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Chaya, please take the codeine....I was on it for three days straight.....it's ok Than you're all good! I was nervous about taking it too-but there's a reason why they give it and it made the whole first week fly by like nothing -
I agree I'm so happy I found this forum too
-
Oy Ok....protein shake I got from GNC....it's a vanilla one Whey protein-low fat/carb and you get 20gr protein in one scoop....I love love ice capps....so I make the shake with skim milk, one scoop, one tsp coffee and lots of ice:) Re pharmacy....call SWLC and ask them to have the pharmacy call you or call them.... Don't worry...be excited....I know I sound down about it...but I am happy I did it and I Do Expect I will lose the weight once I get the fills.... The whole thing went by really fast and easy You'll be great!

Here's the deal....if I was good at dieting, I wouldn't have needed the band I just find it impossible to diet.... You are all so sweet and helpful I know on a rational level that once I get a few fills and get to my green zone- that is when the band starts to really work....but on an emotional level, I'm just frustrated and want it to work yesterday.... Chaya....a few days before the surgery thus pharmacy that works with SWLC will call you and they have like a $70 kit with Vitamins, liquid codeine, liquid Tylenol, chewable gas x etc....you will get this once you get there....as far as liquids, first week I just has Popcicles, chicken broth, Protein shakes -mostly I just didn't feel like eating the first week -hence the 7.4 pounds lost....the downer came when my regular appetite came back and with it four pounds.... Trying to keep my chin up If I could lose even ten pounds at this point...I would be so happy....
-
Hello kiskis Please tell me about your success (size 8 is a true success)....because I'm one week post op and feel like I'll never get there....feel like I have no band....same hunger level as before...I know, I know....I need to get the fills.....but I'm so discouraged.....I would kill to be size 8 (or spend 16k and have a surgery for it - lol)....I'm also in Canada....

Hello My Bmi was 30...and I kind of knew it would not be covered by any insurance....so I paid 16k myself....hoping it will be covered by me eating a lot less How is your journey going Jennybee? Feeling a bit down a week post op.... I was on this post op "high"....and just came crashing down today.... Kind of feel like I have no Band....nothing has changed.... I know I'm being ridiculous, as I have to wait for restriction/fills etc....and excercise....I guess I'm just an impatient person:)

That's my goal....to be all ok:) I will be there in 36 pounds

iriegirl replied to iriegirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My bmi was 30.2....now 29 I'm also scared the weight loss will be slow because of that...so now six days post op I'm down 6.2....and that makes me immensely happy and ready to take on anything. Keep me posted how it goes for you -
The instruction I got was about four weeks post op- but I feel so excited to start losing weight- I'm dying to get working -but at the same time I want to make sure it's safe and that I don't hurt myself Any advice?

I got there all nervous and with some tears....and than it passed so quickly We got there at 9:30 and were on our way home around 2ish....I think....I was a bit groggy when we left. So now I'm seven days out and I have to say that only last night Hunger showed its ugly head...I've lost five pounds since the 30th.... As far as liquids...I've just been having soups, lots of Popsicles, and zero fat yogurts....also my new amazing protein shake that tastes like Ice Capps (skim milk, protein powder, tsp coffee, lots of ice-mix in bullet- you have a zero fat, cool, creammy ice Capp!). I was getting around kind of easily maybe day four..it seems to get worse day two and three and than get better.... All in all pretty easy It's the waiting that's really killer Sounds like you have a low bmi like me...howich do u need to lose? -
Hi Yve I'm far from the Carribbeans....and probably not very Irie most of the time but I like the idea of being Irieeeeeee with time
-
Congratulations!!! A few years ago I had lost fifty pounds and I remember buying some size six clothes and crying in the dressing room from joy.... Since than....I regained that weight....but now with my new Band - I hope to lose the weight for good and have that victorious feeling you're having again!

Hello fellow bandsters:) I was banded on March 30 with Dr Coburn....anyone else in love with him? Something about him just so reassuring! I found the whole clinic just wonderful! From Sema and on to Kim...Although I did feel like I was left hanging briefly here and there.... So I'm six days post op-I can't believe it's been so easy Down five pounds....praying to God that it will continue 37 pounds to Goal I've already scheduled my first fill for April 27th Here's wishing lots of success to all of us at SWLC -

Hello Springers So my date is this Friday...I am nervous and excited....mostly just worried to death that I will fail on this too....I could never last on any diets...ever....not even for a minute.... We paid for this ourselves....16k....so I better make this one work.. Aside from the fact, that this is my last chance....I just can't take being overweight anymore.... Love how supportive you all are....only my husband and best friend know-but no family or anyone else.... See you on the other side

Did U Tell Or Not? If Not..what Was Your Story?
iriegirl posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
After trying a million diets -usually shared with all- I have lost all credibility with people I know...this time it will be my secret (weapon). Will be telling everyone how focused I am and that when I put my mind to something....I can get it done!!! Hehehehe No one needs to know.... -
Hope you get through this quickly and back to full health soon! Take care

Is taking vitamins critical? Is it because you can't eat so much in the first few weeks so u need the vitamins? Will be joining you all March 30th Hope you are all healing well and quickly
