Looking For Some Video Inspiration

Ok, I just found this Saturday thread and wanted to jump in. I hit the two week stall at 9 days post-op and have been driving myself crazy weighing and not losing. I had already spaced out my weighing, but doing it every Saturday and being accountable to report it will help me stay on top of my game. My pre-surgery weight was 243.6, surgery weight was 231.6 (on 3/13/12) and today it is 216.6. I lost .2 lbs since last week. Better than it has been so maybe I'll start losing again soon. I'll take every ounce I can get! Good luck to everyone and let's all be losers together. Hoppy Easter!!!

1St Day Of Pre-Sleeve Diet
jhansen71 replied to susieq1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Susie, you are lucky with the lean meal. My diet consisted of only 3 protein shakes per day, ckn broth and sugar free jello. I would have loved a meal of some kind. That will be something to look forward to every day. Keep your eye on the prize (a healthier you) and you will do great. -
1St Day Of Pre-Sleeve Diet
jhansen71 replied to susieq1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The 1st 3 days are the hardest. Your body goes through withdrawal of caffeine, sugar, fats, etc. My husband did the diet with me to show his support and did not experience near what I went through. I actually felt so bad day 3 that i called in sick. After the 3 days I wasn't stomach hungry as long as I drank my Protein shakes, I was head hungry from time to time. I also went through liking the shakes the first day and not liking them on day 2 and 3 (made me nauseous), then day 4 I was able to drink them again by changing to a different flavor. The whole process took me by surprise. I had lost so much sleep prior to starting the diet about not eating for 2 weeks and I didn't think it was that bad after I got past the first 3 days. I'm proud to say that I did not cheat once. Stay ahead of your hunger and eat so you do not get so hungry that you cheat. It is important to take your diet stuff with you to work and eat or drink something often (obviously staying within your diet guidelines) and drink Water, water, water because this helps you stay full and helps flush out your liver. I dont know if you have ever had surgery, so this advice also goes for pain. Don't wait for the pain to start coming, get pain medicine before you feel it. If you stay ahead of it by taking it even if you don't yet feel the pain, you will reduce your discomfort tremendously. I hope this all helped. Good luck to you! -

JaniRN...Great! He's not a man of many words, but if you have questions, he will stay and answer them all. His staff is not great at follow up, but they are all very nice. You just have to stay on top of them to follow up for insurance, short term disability forms, etc. He visited every day in the hospital and I had mine surgery at Victory Hospital. He is affiliated with a lot of them which is always a good sign of a well respected Dr. Victory is a small boutique hospital in the medical center. Since I did not have a special request, they chose for me. I loooooved this hospital. People were awesome, care excellent and parking so easy. -

Stalled, At 2 Weeks?
jhansen71 replied to diochick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 weeks post-op this coming Tuesday (in 2days) and I hit a stall week 2 and still sitting here. I lost 13lbs the first 9 days and now nothing. I stopped getting on the scale and waited a full week to weigh and still no change. Howver, my body seems like it is getting smaller based on my clothes so right now i am going by that! I'm glad to hear that this is normal. -

I think it is around 800-900 calories per day. -
Pre-Surgery Weight Gain - Help!
jhansen71 replied to Ssilian's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Remember, it's more mental than anything. If you want the sleeve and you feel you need to show a loss to be approved, then you can do it. I never thought I could and I can honestly say that I did not cheat once and lost 12lbs in 2 weeks. The Dr threatened to not do the surgery if I didn't follow the directions and I wasn't going to let that happen. You can do it. Good luck and let me know how you are doing. -
Pre-Surgery Weight Gain - Help!
jhansen71 replied to Ssilian's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No it does not have to be that brand, but it needs to be low in sugar/carbs and high in protein. Mine is 27 grams of protein per 8 oz. You can have as much jello or broth as you want. -
Pre-Surgery Weight Gain - Help!
jhansen71 replied to Ssilian's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It consisted of 3 protein shakes (bariatric advantage), sugar fee jello and low sodium broth. No caffeine, no sugar and lots of water. The first 3 days are so hard, but once you past this it is not too difficult. I hope this helps. -

I lost 12 lbs in 2 weeks on the pre-op liquid Diet. Maybe you can do this for 5 weeks? You will drop some serious weight. -
2 Week Post-Op Dr Appt Concern
jhansen71 replied to jhansen71's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks for the responses. I have never taken blood pressure meds before and my blood pressure was always around 120/70. I just took it this morning and it is 91/61. I was very weak last week, but this week feel much better. I do get dizzy occasionally, but I told the Dr this and he said if it became worse or blood pressure dropped more to call him right away. I am glad to see others have had low pressure too and will be watching mine closely. I'll let you all know if things change and/or if I hear back from the Dr. I otherwise feel fine. -

When I click on someone's picture, I do not have an option to friend anyone. I can only see threads they've started, posts they've made and one other thing that I cannot remember. Someone said there should be other buttons so I can follow people. Is it because I'm using this through an app on my iPad? Please help.
-
Awesome! Thanks so much for the help!

Okay, if I friend someone through my computer, will I be able to follow them through my iPad or am I limited to only following through my computer?
