Breakfast - 5oz yogurt, 6 almonds lunch - 6oz chili, 4 saltines Dinner - 1/2c beef lasagna, 2 tortilla chips with 1 tbsp guacamole, 1tbsp spinach, 1 cookie snack - 6oz yogurt with berries, 6 wheat thins Liquids - Water, tea with 2oz almond milk Exercise - 35 min lower body aerobics

Congrats!! -
That's a tough spot to be in. It sounds like your mother is trying to be supportive the way she knows how. But know that you have nothing to feel guilty for if you are having that 1 healthy snack a day. Guilt just makes us hide things or overeat. Would your mom let you replace her candy with healthier snack options? Could you take over grocery shopping duties for a while? I find fruit, peanut butter, yogurt, protein bars (chocolate or peanut butter flavor) and skinny cow ice creams help. Also tracking your meals and snacks.

A cyst pushing on your rectum sounds awful! Glad they got it under control and you were able to go home. Get some rest, have a nice bath and drink hot tea. -
Just a question about your goals

I am 5'9" and my doctor says she is happy if I am anywhere between 150-200lbs. So I've chosen 175 or 170. I am about 180 right now and the weight loss is definitely slowing down. So, I am less tied to a specific number but seeing where my body naturally stops losing. -
Went to another family dinner tonight. I got one last dinner on Saturday night and after that, back to my normal schedule of one treat meal a week. Sticking in there with my exercise and enjoying social occasions. Breakfast - 6oz yogurt, 6 almonds lunch - 1pita, 2tbsp Peanut Butter, 1/2 banana, 2 carrot sticks Dinner - 1 chicken potsticker, 1/2c white rice, 1/2c yellow chicken veggie curry liquids - Water, 8oz skim milk Exercise - 30 min elliptical, 15min weights Labs getting done in the morning.

Don't be afraid to try new things! NSV
daisychains7 posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
The best part about my weight loss is the newfound freedom I feel to try things that scared me in the past. I was always worried and embarrassed that I wouldn't be able to keep up or would look like an idiot. Well, no more. Yesterday morning I went snowboarding for the first time ever!!! And even though I fell 100 times, it was a success just for me to get on that board and try it! Never be afraid to try something new and make the most of your second chance. -
Ok, you have totally inspired me! One of my goals for 2013 is a 5k. I have already planned on one in April (for obesity), the Color Run in July, and the Dirty Girl mud run in August. Lol. I work out regularly but can't run long distance for the life of me! Any tips on how to prepare? Was it as hard as you thought it would be?

I had to go to the ER with severe constipation a few weeks after my surgery. I was backed up all the way into my intestines. I never want to hear the words "enema", "rectal exam" and "fecal impaction" again! Pure hell indeed! I am sorry you had to go through that, and the hernia. Try to be patient. These hiccups along the way can be incredibly discouraging but hang in there. -
I went a little overboard.....but that's ok.

It sounds like you did great! Came in with a game plan, did not deprive yourself, but made sure to account for it and get that exercise in! Nothing to beat yourself up for. -
Eating has been tough these last couple weeks between family visiting, dinners and travel. Just trying to do it in moderation and be consistent with exercise to off set it. I am about 10lbs from goal now. This does not sound healthy at all. You will find many of us here have that one toxic family member who just wasn't or isn't supportive. How old are you? You need to create some boundaries between you and your father. Why seek approval in the places you know you aren't going to get it? Life is too short! Do this for YOU! I promise you, if you do not deal with your emotional issues you will gain all of the weight back. I know this, because I was on the same emotional roller-coaster with my family for years. Please call 911, call your WLS support team, or a therapist.

drinks detrimental on weight loss?
daisychains7 replied to mesmus's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think you already know the answer to that. Remember, it's not just calories that makes pop unhealthy. -

What if i dont want to diet?
daisychains7 replied to Stephleupagus's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I love this thread. I am nearing my goal (about 10-15lbs away) and part of my brain is still in "diet" mode. I do track every day, and choose not to eat certain foods for fear that i will backslide and lose control. I am in the green zone but still get cravings. I am really trying to stop constantly fretting about the calories and just try to live life with the band in a way I can maintain. I'm not gonna lie, dealing with the emotion ties with food and the guilt when I eat a treat (even when I eat well 80% of the time) is a struggle. -
Struggling with pre diet....surgery on Monday!!!
daisychains7 replied to NewLifeRight's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes! I promise you, it gets easier every month post op. i was banded in May but am close to my goal. Now it is not so much about "dieting" as it is about making better food choices, enjoying treats in moderation (I plan for 1 treat a week), being fit, and staying accountable. It's a learning curve. Hang in there. It's so rewarding when you see the hard work pay off! -
eating solids shortly after bandin
daisychains7 replied to banded121512's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I know you mean well, but what you're doing is extremely dangerous. The band is no minor procedure, and especially so early on, you need to be following doctors orders to the letter. After all the pain, time and money you just invested to have the surgery... why would you put yourself at risk? Any WLS requires willpower, but once you get past those first couple of months and are getting fills, it is much easier. I don't want to sound preachy, but following the plan gives you your best chance at success with the band. -
My goals for next year are a 5K, a mud run, getting myself a bike (have not ridden a bike in over ten years), and focusing on toning in hopes of tightening up some of this loose skin. I also want to try new physical activities like rock climbing, surfing, aerial, kickboxing and ziplining.
