So frustrating but I know you will get there! Try switching up the types of exercise you are doing, and add variety to your diet.

Not doing well on pre-op :(
daisychains7 replied to kvr1977's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All of you on the pre op diet - Hang in there. We have all been in your shoes and you can do this! It is truly a wake up call to see just how much power food has over us. The pre op and all the yucky emotions that come with it are no fun, but a necessary part of the process. So allow yourself to be sad, angry, scared, whatever you are feeling. Imagine how happy and healthy you'll be one year from now. It is SO worth it! -
I use cocoa butter every day (long before lapband) and it honestly did not help with my scar at all. It ain't cute, but I figure I just gotta wear my battle scar with pride.

Yay!! What a great feeling. I'm sure you look fabulous

Help!! Do I Give The Old Clothing Away????
daisychains7 replied to shrcumm's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I donated all of my big clothes. It was sad, yet therapeutic. That girl is gone, and never coming back!!! But... I did keep 2 pairs of jeans from when I was my heaviest, as well as the tshirt I wore on surgery day. -
Will be interested to know what tips you all have.

This is why exercise is my lifeline. I feel a lot less guilt and anxiety about indulging in some dessert or bread, knowing that I've gotten a hard workout in that day. I never allow myself to eat junk in my house, but if I am out with friends, I let myself enjoy it in moderation. I just track everything I eat and make up for it the next day. -
Not doing well on pre-op :(
daisychains7 replied to kvr1977's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with Donna. The pre-op was the hardest part of the process for me too. I was a complete wreck, physically and mentally. Keep your eye on the prize and please try and remember this is only temporary. Drink as much water as you can. SF jello and broth do help, just for variety. Hang in there! -
Band is too tight and oops I'm Pregnant
daisychains7 replied to brwnangel's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey girl! I am so sorry I didn't see this earlier. First of all, congrats on your pregnancy! It sounds like being a mom is something you wanted for a very long time, but its still a shock the way that it happened when you least expected. I think once a few months go by and you see this living thing growing inside of you, you will just fall in love with your baby! It's a blessing! I can understand the fear and panic of gaining weight, especially when you worked so hard to get the band and lose so much! You really need to talk to your doctor and express those concerns. Your primary concern for the next year will be getting adequate nutrition that you AND the baby needs.. That may mean an unfill and weight gain. This will mean a short detour in your weight loss goals but it does NOT mean its gone totally off the rails! With less Fluid in your band you might need to eat more often but can still make healthy food choices through the pregnancy, and keep exercising (as long as Dr says its safe). Sorry I cannot give you better advice but I have seen a few here who've been pregnant with the band. Maybe you can send them a private message. Wish you all the best & please keep me posted. -
Today was a wake up call. I got stuck for the first time in a couple months. Went to Mexican restaurant with friends (opted for 1 chicken enchilada and a little beans). Difficulty with ground meats?
daisychains7 replied to Courtnin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ground beef is such a pain to chew. I hate the gristle. I second the shredded beef and chicken suggestion! -
Yay! Congrats.

I'm really surprised your doctor doesn't have you on at least a Multivitamin. Most bandsters are told to take vitamins for life. And I was on Celexa (anti anxiety/depressant) in the past and tremors was one of the side effects.
-
I had the same problem so my doctor ran a few tests. Turns out I was vitamin B1 deficient, so they recommended a supplement and some adjustments to my diet. I'd definitely ask them to do blood work. In the meantime, more protein and more water.

OK Ladies...Let's talk Boob's...
daisychains7 replied to Destined*Lady*D's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, mine went from 44F's to 36D. Definitely saggy but not the end of the world with a good bra. Bra shopping is actually fun now. -
It happened to me too when I got off the liquids. I gained 8lbs. It's completely normal! Don't expect to lose weight for the first 6 weeks or so. You have a lifetime to work your band. But you've got to heal first.

Haven't had steak since being banded, do you eat it?
daisychains7 replied to donna12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a little bit of rare prime rib last weekend, as well as shredded bbq beef, with no problems as long as I chewed really well. I was surprised it went well because ground beef is a problem for me (gristle - yuck). No matter how much I chew it down it is just so dry. Try a tiny piece of steak and chew it well. Make it rare or medium, definitely not well done. -
Today was better. Breakfast - 6oz yogurt, 6 almonds lunch - flax pita with Peanut Butter, 1/3 banana, 1/4c strawberries dinner - 1/2c shredded pork, 1/4c corn snack - 1/2 Protein bar, 6oz yogurt Liquids - green tea, 8oz skim milk Exercise - 30 min elliptical, 20 min weight training

Hope you are doing ok, miss you around here. I get the worst reflux when I have my period, metallic taste in my mouth is back. But TUMs seems to help a bit.
