I have frustrating days sometimes but a positive attitude goes a long way. Remember you are still much healthier than you were before surgery. Focus on sticking to your smaller portion sizes, getting protein, drinking water and being active. Are you exercising? Are you doing measurements? You may have lost inches, not lbs.
-
Are you alright Debbie? Is it a certain food that you eat that makes you throw up, or are you vomiting up everything you try to eat? An upper gi will get you some answers. And i think in the meantime maybe you should stick to liquids, yogurts, chilis and Soups to be safe til your appointment Breakfast - 6oz greek yogurt lunch - 1/2 cup pulled chicken w/ gravy, 1/4 cup potato and steamed carrots snack - 6oz mango yogurt dinner - 1/2cup chicken, 1/4cup mashed potatoes, 1/4 cup diced peaches snack - 8oz skim milk Water exercise - 2 hours swimming

I am very proud of all of you! You have all inspired me to keep going. The voices in the back of my head that say "no!! You can do better!" when I want to eat that piece of chocolate cake or stay on the couch. lol. I went swimming for two hours today. It was 99 degrees in MN today so the pool felt great and burned lots of calories.

I don't think so .. That must be the problem. Its been over 95 for the past three days and i feel so BLAH. I get probably three water bottles a day but rarely finish them. I barely drank water before the lap band so i literally have to force myself now. Been doing better today!

Thank you! Today was rough.. It was 99 degrees and my window box AC is broken. I have no central air and am miserable right now. Gonna be 90+ all week. Staying w/ my sister for a day or two but she makes my stress go up and doesn't give much thought to groceries, etc. gonna try to get AC fixed tomorrow. This stress has not been good for me and the heat makes me feel weak, irritable and get headaches Breakfast - 1/2c kashi go lean Cereal with skim lunch - 3/4c chili, 3 crackers, 1/4c fruit salad dinner - 2 vegetarian sausage links, 2 carrot sticks, 4oz peach yogurt snack - 8oz milk Lots of Water No exercise today

Hi ladies, just wanted to let you know I got home safely. Had a great weekend. Other than this nagging lower chest ache I get a couple hours after I eat , followed by a gurgle sensation (which I will be talking to my doctor about at next fill appt) no issues. I did go to the gym my 1st day there and did 30 mins of cardio. Walked a lot through the weekend. We went to restaurants every night but I made sure to eat protein first, stick to 1 cup or less and stop eating at first sign of fullness. I did treat myself but never got out of control. Back to the normal routine now.

Just checking in. I am learning more about myself and my band every day. Have my 2nd fill in July, am sticking to small portions, reintroducing exercise. It's been a sometimes difficult, but good ride so far. Hope you are all doing well.

@whymomwhy Youre lucky. I long for the day I can have a bun with a hot dog or hamburger again (of course in moderation). I've tried pitas and Arnold's sandwich thins with no issues so far but scared to try other breads. @sleepyone LOL I do the same thing!! Crazy what people put in their bodies. What used to look like a regular amount looks huge. I am perfectly content eating my small portions. And thanks - I think 3/4-1 cup is whats comfortable for me right now. I keep waiting for that "I'm gonna vomit" or "I shouldn't have eaten that" feeling and it has never come. lol Breakfast - 1/2cup kashi go lean cereal with skim milk lunch - 2oz lean cuisine lasagna.. Didn't sit well so just had 4oz yogurt dinner - 3oz pulled rotisserie on Arnold's sandwich thin with hummus, 3 tbsp unsweetened apple sauce snack - 8oz skim milk Lots of Water Exercise - 30 min elliptical and 15 min light weights/abs

Yes, it really is. I was working out probably 6 days a week when I was on my 6 month diet, and I actually enjoy it now that I'm down to a smaller weight, I just lost some momentum. It's amazing how much planning our lives require now that we are banded. Every meal and every work out must be scheduled. Again this is a big challenge but I'm not giving up! I worked out Sunday, I believe Monday and then today. But I need to push it more. And I so appreciate all the support!! I enjoy Zumba, belly dance, elliptical and recumbent bike. Always been interested in kick boxing and any type of dance. My life has gotten so hectic this summer but I need to MAKE time! I will NOT be a bandster who doesn't exercise and has flabby skin lol thanks Debbie. I will

Hope you're feeling better today. Breakfast - 6oz Greek yogurt lunch - 3oz grilled chicken, 2oz rice snack - 4oz activia dinner - 3oz grilled chicken, 3oz mashed potato/green Beans, 2 tbsp brownie (went out to dinner with family and ordered my meal from kids menu) Snack - 8oz milk

I am still struggling with consistent exercise. I'm not as motivated to stick to a routine as I was before the band. Crazy, I know. I need to be accountable and commit to going to a class, and schedule the time. When I go out of town this weekend I'm determined to hit the hotel gym at least once.

Whymomwhy - you're able to eat sandwiches? I miss those. Ive had a teeny bit of wheat bread toasted before my fill... No issues. I think I need to test my band a little more. I miss the variety of food I was eating before surgery and hope I can still have that again. I miss spaghetti, eggplant parmesan, Mexican food, etc. Here's my day: Breakfast - 6oz yogurt lunch - 4oz grilled chicken, wheat pita, garlic hummus, 1 watermelon slice snack - 8oz skim milk dinner - lean cuisine (was short on time). 2/3cup of baked turkey slices and baked apples Snack - 8oz milk or 4oz activia I will be out of town Thursday through Sunday at a church event I attend each summer. Will hve to go out to eat every night but I am making breakfast and lunches. I plan to treat myself every day but stick to 1cup or less portions. Bringing my gym clothes so I can exercise at least once in the hotel.

I am so glad that the confidence you gained through your weight loss journey helped you to open up. I can relate to a lot of the feelings you had about yourself. I think we get so used to being rejected, or ignored, that we close ourselves off to the possibility that we could find love. Your story gives me hope. Congrats to you and your fiance!

Did You Use Heat Or Ice Post-Op?
daisychains7 replied to trisket's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used a heating pad over my tummy when I went to sleep at night. Definitely made my incisions feel a little better. -
I had the same issue when I reheated some grilled shrimp. I was uncomfortable for hours after that. However, I did reheat some shredded beef that had been sitting in a lot of gravy, and it reheated very moist.

I have the same struggle Debbie. Mornings are just hard for me in general.. I oversleep a lot.. so now I need even MORE time in the mornings so I make sure to have breakfast. I'm still working on it. I find greek yogurt (14g protein) to be the easiest thing. I did buy some Kashi Go Lean cereal to try (13g Protein, not including the skim milk). Yes, my hunger has decreased since my fill IF I make sure to space my meals out correctly... which i didn't do well with this weekend. again, this is something I'm working on. But when I do really good with that, hunger is no longer as much of an issue. 3 meals a day plus one snack works for me. We'll see how my next fill changes things! As for fiber , I think I could be doing better. I bought flax seed but haven't tried it yet. I do have healthy carbs every single day. Breakfast - 6oz yogurt lunch - 4oz turkey, 2oz mashed potato/veggie Snack - 8oz milk dinner - wheat pita w/ 2oz hot italian sausage, and tomato sauce Snack - 8oz milk I think that i need to be eating more to be honest.

its so fun! If you feel self conscious right now you can try a DVD first. But it's pretty easy, and an exercise that's accepting of all body types. I have tried hip hop classes and find that tougher.

Debbie, no skipping breakfast! Lol. Did you have trouble with the egg rolls? What kind of chicken? I am asking cuz I haven't had Chinese food since surgery and don't know what's safe and what's not now. Breakfast - 6oz peach Greek yogurt lunch - lean cuisine (1/2cup chicken makhani, 1tbsp rice), 1 watermelon wedge snack - 8oz skim milk dinner - 3oz grilled chicken breast, a few tomato slices, and garlic hummus wrapped in a mini whole wheat pita, 1 strawberry Snack - 8oz skim milk Resisted all the food at a BBQ today but boy it was hard. I wanted a hot dog in a bun and chips

How Soon Before I Can Swing A Golf Club?
daisychains7 replied to markymarkz's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I went to the driving range 6 weeks after surgery. I had no issues. -
I ended up at the ER three weeks after my surgery due to that issue. Hadnt gone in over a week, and when I tried to nothing came out. I was screaming and nearly blacked out from the pain. You may need to go to urgent care so they can give you a suppository or enema. Not pleasant but a couple of those broke up the impacted stools enough where I could pass the majority at home a couple days later (with the help of miralax, prune juice and stool softener). They told me i needed to up water intake and take miralax if i dont go every 2 days. I have also bought flax seed and started having some (healthy) carbs for fiber. Been good since then. Not trying to freak you out but some additional help may be needed.

I don't know anyone that got fat from eating too much fruit. So I have it when I want it, I just measure it out. Usually not more than 1/4cup. I am about 7 weeks out and eat kiwis, bananas, mangos, and berries. Haven't tried anything with skin yet.

Weighing ...
daisychains7 replied to RockieBarbie09's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its easy to get caught up in a number. I'm guilty of the same thing. Focus on exercise, food choices, how your clothes are fitting. Maybe you don't need to have a scale in your house at all? Your doctor will weigh you at fill appointments. -
For How Long Should My Mom Stay After Surgery?
daisychains7 replied to RobinGirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My mom did the same thing. I think 3 days is good.
