    Food Stuck In Throat

Ouch. If that happens every single time you eat, I'm wondering if you are too full? How much fluid is in your band and what size band do you have? This is gross but as I am chewing I liquify the food in my mouth.. That may help you. Pineapple juice worked for me when I got food stuck.

    Scared

25lbs is great. How are you doing with exercise? You may need to step up the intensity or switch it up.
  3. I went through the same thing the first month. I felt like everything was getting stuck (it wasn't), was hyper-aware of every sensation, and afraid of my band. Still have occasional tough days but I am way more comfortable now! It will get better, trust me.

    Couch To 5K?

Ok... the fact so many of you have done it gives me hope. LOL. I have always struggled to run but now that I have lost quite a bit of weight and am exercising regularly, I am going to start next week. Need to get the iphone app.

Lose_It - That would be great! I know it helps me too to see how everyone is doing and get meal ideas. The support from all of you here helps immensely. And WOW!! CONGRATS!!! How do you feel? You are almost in onederland.. how cool is that?! Proud of you. I went in for my 2nd fill today. My doctor is thrilled about my weight loss and said I am a "poster child for the lapband lifestyle" LOL... hardly... but that felt really good to hear. She said I do not need more Fluid in my band at this time and that I am in the green zone faster than most. I am so used to failing at weight loss that this is surreal, in a good way. haha Breakfast - 6oz yogurt snack - 6oz yogurt lunch - 1/2 wheat pita, 1 tbsp Peanut Butter, 5 grapes Snack - Skim milk dinner - 3/4 toasted sandwich thin, 3/4 boca burger, 1 tbsp ketchup, 2oz fruit salad Snack - skim milk

    May Bandsters!

Went in for my 2nd fill today. I am down another 16lbs since my first full last month. My doctor is happy with my progress and says I am already in the green zone. Only 1cc in an 8cc band. I will go back in a month and see how I feel then. No complaints.
  7. Something else I am going to do along the way (other than a beach vacation) is get professional pictures of myself taken. I think that would make me feel really beautiful.

    Never Before!

I agree! I still have to force myself to exercise, but once I do, I feel amazing. It is a part of my life now.

    Just Curious, Radical Changes

I'm nowhere near goal weight yet but my relationship with food has changed completely. It is more than what you put in your body -- it is a mental transformation. The way I view myself and my future is a lot different (in a good way). My relationships with others are starting to change as I notice some treat me differently now that I'm smaller. I exercise a lot. I am WAY more willing to try new things.

Hi Debbie! So good to hear from you. I'm sorry I haven't replied to your message. This is the first quiet moment I've had all day. I am very sad to hear about your mother in law. Is there anything we can do to support you during this time? your family will be in my prayers. As for your band, you must be relieved at least. Will the pills pass through on their own or are they going to have to take them out somehow?! I am doing well but I am getting pretty bored of eating the same few meals over and over. I get hungry Every 3-4 hours which is fine but when it hits its BAD and if im out doing errands, i have to suffer til i get home. Is a snack ok? Anyone have suggestions? Do you think for meals I can just try recipes from a Cooking Light or Weight Watchers magazine? I really need to bring a list of questions for my fill. Breakfast - 5oz yogurt lunch - 3oz turkey, 2oz potato, 1oz peach dinner - same as lunch Snack - 16oz tea with skin milk

Thank you! Oh no. I hope you are still able to do the memorial ride. Breakfast - 5oz greek yogurt snack - 12oz tea with skim milk, 2 tsp sugar lunch - 1/2 whole wheat tortilla, 3oz deli turkey, tomato slice, lettuce, 1 tsp hummus, 1 slice of mango Snack - 8oz skim milk dinner - 3oz tilapia, 2oz broccoli, 2 oz diced peaches So I used to like Mio.. tried it again in my Water tonight and i feel like puking... Something about the flavor of it. Crystal light does the same thing to me. I cannot stand these calorie free flavor things.

    May Bandsters!

Just checking in. I love hearing how well everybody is doing. Everyone's doctors seem to be more aggressive than mine when it comes to fills. I'd be too scared to get 6ccs at one time. Lol. We will see what they do at my next fill on 7/16. I honestly don't want more than 1 or 2ccs put in at a time but I am anxious to see if I have been losing at a good rate How is everyone doing with exercise?

I haven't heard from her at all. Starting to get worried now. Breakfast - 5oz yogurt snack - 12oz tea with Splenda and skin milk lunch - 6oz chili, 2 saltines dinner - 3oz teriyaki chicken, 2oz rice/broccoli Snack - 8oz skim milk Exercise - 35 mins cardio Went to target today for cheap jeans and exercise pants. To my surprise a size 18 jean was falling down my waist. So I got a size 16 even though it's a bit snug, and size XL yoga pants. Woohoo!

    Gained Weight And Depressed!

All these liquids and soft foods are not a correct reflection of what life is like with the band. Do not expect to lose any weight for the first 6 weeks (those were my surgeon's words). You are healing, and no doubt have lots of swelling and bloating. I gained 8 lbs right after my surgery despite following my doctors orders to the letter. Don't get down on yourself before you've even started the process. Soon you will begin learning to eat with your band and exercising regularly. That's when the weight will begin to come off.

Lost A Person From Our Family

Wow.... I can relate. Even as a child I was always the fat one in the family growing up. I love my mother but her constant prodding to lose weight (always for superficial reasons) only broke down my self esteem further and fueled my emotional eating as a teenager. Now I am learning to break the cycle and do this for the right reasons! Your story almost brings tears to my eyes because I am so happy for your family. How amazing to be able to get healthy with your loved ones by your side. Thanks for sharing!

Just saw your post Lose_it. I know how upsetting a gain feels. But don't get down on yourself. It's a marathon, not a sprint, and we are still on the quest for restriction. I notice some days i have to FORCE myself not to eat everything in sight, and other days I have no desire for food whatsoever. Also, some days my band is very tight and other days I can eat more. Guess its all part of the learning curve. hows your exercise going? Maybe stepping that up will help until you get restriction (i need to take my own advice).

Thank you both. The support means a lot to me. Sleepyone - Don't beat yourself up for not getting it perfect yet. I am struggling with the same thing, figuring out my new meal schedule and recognizing my body;s signals. Still working on a work out routine. I still have occasional chest pains which I will be checking with my Dr about at my fill 7/16. I am not sure if its cuz I eat too fast, too big bites, or something different entirely. Getting my 2nd fill scares me a bit cuz I'm still getting used to the 1st one. lol. What does getting stuck feel like for you? What kind of meat were you eating that got stuck? Some textures don't work as easily for me, like beef or salad. I suggest timing yourself when you eat and the small fork thing! How much Fluid do you have in your band? Have you tried yogurt and a little mushy fruit for breakfast? You're doing great girl. keep it up. breakfast - 5oz greek yogurt lunch - 1/2 arnolds sandwich thin, with turkey, tomato and lettuce, 2oz diced mango snack - 8 oz milk dinner - 3/4 of a mini pita pizza with ground turkey and red peppers on it, fat free mozz cheese, 3 baby carrots with 1 tsp hummus snack - 4oz greek yogurt also had another cup of tea, lots of Water No exercise today.
