Hi ladies. Today I didn't do that great. Skipped breakfast. I went to a party and ate dessert but didn't go out of control. Constipation was an issue today but after colace and dulcolax I am better. lunch - 2tbsp PB on Arnold's sandwich thin dinner - 1/3c pulled BBQ beef, 1/3c fruit salad, 5 chips snack - 1/2 piece key lime pie, 1/2 brownie Lots of Water Tomorrow gotta get my butt back to the gym!!!
  5. I am still losing, but went in for a bra fitting yesterday. I am 5'9", Had a starting weight of 326 and was a 44F. Now I am about 225 and a 36DDD. It sucks that at 23 my boobs are as saggy as they are (think a deflated sharpei... literally almost at my belly button) but I'd rather be healthy with saggy boobs than unhealthy with bigger ones. I too am thinking of a lift when I hit goal.

    Not Impressed

5 weeks of liquids seems way over the top. I cannot believe any nutritionist or doctor would require that of a band patient... Wow. I'm so sorry. But if you can get through that, the recovery itself will be a breeze in comparison.

Thank you!! Do you notice any more restriction yet? My desk is directly next to the lunch room (there isn't even a door so I look into it all day). Someone brought in a pan of brownies, and twizzlers. GRR! I didn't eat any but that was torture. lol. I told a couple of co-workers about my band and one was very curious! She has looked into the band before and wants to go to a seminar. I was glad to be able to educate someone about our lifestyle. Breakfast - 5oz yogurt with berries Lunch - 1 arnolds sandwich thin with crunchy PB, 1/4c applesauce dinner - 5oz yogurt, sm banana snack - tons of Water

    Being Vegetarian

Yes, I've thought about it. I don't think I actually would go vegetarian, but eating certain types of meat is a pain in the butt now. I used to love beef before my surgery but now there's always gristle and it takes forever to chew down. I stick to chicken and fish.

    What Did You Say?

"It hurts, it hurts, oh God, it hurts". Over and over again. Haha!

    Sit Ups

I am almost 4 months post op and am still scared to use my ab muscles too much. Which I know doesn't exactly help them get stronger. I am just so scared of pulling or doing something to my port. I still get discomfort near my largest incision if i do sit ups or twist wrong. Maybe I should look into alternative ab exercises.

    Do I Need A Referral?

Welcome! I'm going to apologize in advance for my long winded answer. haha Every hospital is different. I'd recommend starting by going to an info session. At my info session they gave me a big packet where I filled in probably 10 forms about my medical history and mailed it back to the bariatric dept at the hospital. After review they set you up with an appointment to see a bariatrician, nutritionist, psychologist, get some basic labs and sleep study (this is all done within a couple hours). After all that I had to set up an appointment with my normal doctor because they require your doctor to sign off on you pursuing the surgery, and they wanted my doctor to do a physical. Next, I met with a nutritionist once a month for 6 months. My insurance required me to do that. Once completed they submitted my information to the insurance company for approval. Meeting with the actual surgeon is the very last step of the process, after you are approved. Sorry... I hope that makes sense. Start with an info session and they will get you started! Often the sessions are run by actual lapband surgeons at the hospital so you will get a chance to talk to them there.

Welcome and congrats to you! This is a great place to find support. The surgery will be over before you know it, and then the fun part begins

    Excited And Nervous...

Love your attitude!! This is the best thing you could do for yourself and your family. It's not always easy but I would do the surgery all over again in a heartbeat.
  22. Down 100lbs since I began this journey in September 2011 w/ 6 month pre op diet. So happy. Thanks for support.

    Can I Damage My Port???

That's a good question. I too get a soreness and pulling most of the time I lay on my left side. It scares me, so I only sleep on my stomach or right side. I am almost 4 months out so hope this discomfort goes away at some point.

    Anyone Get Dizzy,weak Or Faint?

I assume since you're only a week out you're still on liquids. I think my doctor had me on clear liquids for 10 days after surgery and yes, the entire time I was on liquids I felt pretty weak and low energy. It amazes me some people could exercise a few days after their surgery cuz the thought alone made me want to pass out. lol. Now is not the time to try and be superwoman... you need to take time to recover. Everything you're saying is legitimate considering you cannot get proper nutrition yet. Are you able to start taking vitamins again? Are you drinking enough water and protein? Don't hesitate to call your doctor for ideas.

OMG, I can only imagine! You're going to hit 30 being healthier than you have ever been. I bet you will be in onederland at your next appointment. I can't wait to get there too. Some good news.. I AM NOW DOWN 100 LBS!!!! That was a big goal of mine. YAY!!! I believe about 55 of those lbs have been after my surgery. If I can afford it, I am going to get professional pictures taken and also go on a shopping spree. I have an interview on Monday so thats an excuse. Something I need to address with my doctor next month - I struggle to get even 900-1000 cals in in a day. Like today, I have had maybe 650 so I have to eat a yogurt and a banana late night just so I am not extremely low :-/ Am I supposed to be eating unhealthier food just to consume a higher amount of calories? I don't get it. Lately I find myself sleeping in very late, sometimes not having "breakfast" til noon, so that doesnt exactly help. I am glad I'll be temping soon so I will be on a schedule. Breakfast - 5oz yogurt lunch - 1 bbq chicken leg, 2 baby carrots dinner - 6oz spicy beef chili with cheddar cheese on top snack - tea, Water, vanilla greek yogurt and banana slices (will have this later)
