Why In The World Did I Let It Get This Bad
daisychains7 replied to donna12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Donna, I know you don't know me but I just want to tell you how proud I am of you! Your honesty is inspirational. My weight gain in the past was ALWAYS tied to emotional pain, family problems, and a lack of self esteem. I am slowly beginning to heal, and I know that you will too. -

We're all at different stages of this process, so don't compare yourself to others. Personally, I think everyone here is beautiful, regardless of size. We have all lived life as obese people... so there's no judgement here. Show off your pictures proudly. -
Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!
daisychains7 replied to Rockin' Robyn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You can add me to that list. I have lost over 100lbs since I began my journey. I am about 25 from goal. For me, the key is exercise. There is no substitute for the hours you put in at the gym. But whatever works for you individually -- it is about making small consistent efforts every day and doing the best you can whatever your circumstances. I never thought I'd be shopping for size 12 pants or a size M shirt! But the greatest reward I've experienced since losing the weight is the new found sense of freedom (no longer the constant worry of "how will I look?" "will I fit?" "can I do that?") and confidence I have in myself. -
Can anybody recommend a good Protein Bar?? Everything I see is higher in fat and cals than I'd like. I figure a bar would be a good breakfast or snack on the go. Breakfast - 6oz greek yogurt lunch - 1 cup Thai shrimp soup, 1/2 a curry wonton dinner - 4oz Greek yogurt w/ 1 sliced strawberry, 1 mini pita w/ PB Liquids - 8oz skim milk, 16oz hot tea, Water Exercise - none today

@Lose_It Very true... I am taking your advice to heart. My fear with treats is always that I WILL overdue it, but I see now I have more self control than I thought. And it's unrealistic to think with my lifestyle I will never ever have a piece of cake or a margarita again. But I got the band to help me controller portion and not overdue the way I used to. I am sorry to hear about your hubby's grandfather. There is nothing harder than losing a loved one. I will include your family in my prayers tonight. I think I did ok today.. Could've done better though. Breakfast - 6oz Greek yogurt lunch - did not have it.. Didn't have "breakfast" til 1pm. Bad I know. dinner - 3/4c chicken tortilla soup, 3 cool ranch Doritos Dessert - 1 chocolate chip cookie, 1/4c fruit salad Liquids - 8oz apple juice, 8oz skim milk, Water Exercise - 35 min wii fit

What Foods Do Not Agree With You Anymore???
daisychains7 replied to DanaAdams's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Dry beef or shrimp are a no-go... but I am able to eat both if they are moist and I chew a lot. Spongey cakes Pasta (I can do it, but would rather not as I get that stuffed-and-about-to-explode feeling after literally 3 or 4 bites) Fried foods... I only eat them once in a blue moon, but when I do they often give me a stomach ache. Especially chinese food. -
That is so odd!! For me, the week near my period i am very tight in the mornings. Otherwise, not many issues. I think you'll feel a lot better once you get some Fluid out. Tomorrow is treat day. Having tortilla soup then cookie with ice cream for dessert. just have to make sure to get solid 45 min of cardio. I am not a real happy camper since I just weighed myself and I have not lost anything in the past 5 days. Zilch! I haven't gained either.. But.... What gives? Any tips? Breakfast - 5oz yogurt lunch - 1/2c baby spinach salad with 4 almonds, craisins and fat free raspberry vinaigrette. 1/2pita with 2oz grilled chicken. snack - 1/2 sm banana, 6oz blueberry yogurt dinner - 1sm pita with 2 tbsp Peanut Butter, 1/2 sm banana sliced Liquids - 8oz milk, Water, 6oz fat free hot chocolate Exercise - 30 min elliptical

@Lose_It Based on what you ate today and what you said, it seems like you may be a bit too tight. But then again, some people say it is trial and error the first few weeks after a fill. Not just with the foods you are eating, but smaller bites and eating even slower. Chili has always been a go-to food for me but it does fill me up very quickly (and I only have 1cc in my band)! Keep us posted on it. Also super proud of you for getting that walk in! you look fabulous in your picture. Breakfast - 5oz yogurt lunch - 1/2 wheat pita with 1tbsp reduced fat PB, 4oz yogurt, about 8 blueberries dinner - 2/3c caesar salad light kit, 2oz grilled chicken breast snack - 5oz vanilla yogurt, 5 unsalted almonds, 1 strawberriy sliced (about to have it now) liquids - Water, 8oz tea, 8oz skim milk Exercise - 30 min elliptical, 15 min weights

Whymomwhy - Sounds like you are prepared to have a great trip and stay on track! Sleepy one - Thank you. I miss seeing you post around here and hope that you're alright. Always here for support. Today went in for my monthly follow up. Had a great convo with the doctor and got all my questions answered. It felt good to get reassurance that I'm healthy and doing well with my band. I have been thinking about doing a 5k in the spring. Breakfast - 6oz yogurt lunch - 2tbsp hot salsa, 1 fajita egg roll lean cuisine, about 6 blueberries snack - 12 blueberries, 5oz vanilla yogurt, 5 almonds unsalted dinner - 1 wheat pita with 2tbsp PB, 1/4c sliced banana 8oz skim milk No exercise today.. Whymomwhy - you can do this! It's always hard to stay on track when you are out of your normal routine when out of town though. I am going out of town myself in November and pretty scared about that :/ just gotta plan for it with lots of exercise.. If at a hotel, get ourselves to the fitness center. Drink plenty of Water, and focus on non food activities. Lose_it - missed you around here I had a plateau too. Stepping up my exercise was the biggest help. Breakfast - 6oz yogurt lunch - 1 pita with 2tbsp PB dinner - 1/2c chicken breast, 1/4c Caesar salad Dessert - 1 (5oz) skinny cow ice cream (I recommend this. Breads...can't Do Em At All!
daisychains7 replied to JulieC74's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have not tried doughy, crusty breads. Rare occasions I have pizza, I rip the crust off. I'd rather not go there because I know my stomach will rebel! I have no problems with pitas (LOVE Joseph's brand), toast, crackers, or sandwich thins. I also have no problems with cakes or pie crusts.. unfortunately. lol -
I am now in the "overweight" BMI category. woohoo! Only a bandster would get excited about that. haha
-
Very true, Heather! Have you tried the Nestle fat free hot chocolate? really liking that. Fried foods and grease give me the stomach ache from hell now. Haha.
