    African American Sleevers

Once again, I'll agree to disagree. I don't think that it's a researched based "fact" that AA men want their women to be fat. In my personal opinion, being obese is not the same as being "thick and voluptuous". The AA men that I encounter are not that shallow...sorry! So, I feel offended when one group is sterotyped...regardless of who is doing the stereotyping. Again, I think that the comment is ludicrous! Little bits
  8. I began my journey in December. My 6th & final NUT class was on Monday, the pulmonoligist cleared me on Tuesday and the cardiologist cleared me yesterday. So, it's going to be a waiting game for me from here on out. Sadly, I have a dilemma that may prevent me from getting the sleeve. My insurance company, BCBS of DE, still views the sleeve as a 2-part procedure; therefore, they require a bmi of 50 or higher. My bmi isn't even 40, but I have several co-mobidities (sp). Fortunately, my pcp is very confident that they won't give me a hard time. I hope that he's right. Of course, I will get approved for bypass or lapband without a doubt, but I don't want either one. :'( Little bits

Lol...I thought that this was a different person. The name was different on my phone & your pic wasn't there. Smh! Sn: I'm at the cardiologist's office right now. Call you when I leave...**fingers crossed**!!! Also, the person who schedules the surgeries was out today...go figure. I'll call on Monday. Little bits

    June Sleevers!

I am at the cardiologist's office. She is my final clearance, although she told me that she was clearing me almost a month ago! Smh! Anyway, now I pray that my insurance company does not say no to VSG b/c of my bmi. They say that it is too low. :'( Little bits

    African American Sleevers

I agree Kiki. I have never felt uncomfortable in my skin; therefore, I feel that a person should love you for who you are and not based on the size of your breast or behind. Maybe lack of self esteem is the real issue...Idk. If that's the case then say that. I'm going through this process b/c of my medical issues; therefore, ridiculous comments about black men loving curves are a bit much for me...my black man loves me for me! So, yes, I will express my opinion! Have a great day! Little bits

    African American Sleevers

I laughed because, in my opinion, it was ridiculous & a tad bit offensive. For some reason, I'm thinking that others may have felt the same way...which is why there were very few responses. Moving on... Little bits
