I have been overweight most of my life. I have tried to lose weight using various diets and weight loss plans (Weight Watchers, TOPS, etc.) with little success. In 2011, I crossed over into the 300 lbs zone. OMG!!! I never thought I would get this big. I knew a major change was needed. I will turn 40 in November 2012 and I do not want to enter my 40's being morbidly obese.

I have been contemplating WLS since 2005 and had originally considered having the lap-band. My insurance has a WLS exclusion and I didn't have the funds to pay for the surgery myself in the U.S.

I was so depressed and felt I would be stuck being obese for the rest of my life. God heard my cry and answered my prayers... I ran across an issue of the Obesity Help magazine in a doctor's office one day. I spent hours (well, days really) gathering information from their website and found a forum on affordable weight loss surgery in Mexico. I was very skeptical at first and spent most of 2011 researching gastric sleeve doctors in Mexico. Well, it's now 2012 and I'm finally ready to take the plunge!! I am scheduled to have VSG on April 11, 2012 with Dr. Fernando Garcia in Tijuana.

I'M SO READY FOR CHANGE... BRING IT ON!!!!!
