Bump In The Road And I'm Worried.... :(

My prayers and thoughts are with you. Try not to worry. Hopefully it is nothing serious and you will be on your WLS way. Good Luck
  3. I believe it is like an antacid but on my own I stopped taking it , thinking I didn't need it anymore and when I had my 1 month check up the doctor said I had to continue taking it.
  4. I take prevasit first thing in the morning then 2 calcium citrate pills and my multi vitamin after dinner. My doctor and nutrionist said I will be taking these for the rest of my life.

    Body Odor?!

jd, I noticed the same thing. I have never had bo, but ever since the surgery I have noticed the same smelly arm pits. I have changed deodorants several times. If anyone has the answer to why, I would like to know also.

    Mental Meltdown...

Niahri, Everything you are feeling is normal. I felt the same way. I even regretted at first having had the surgery. I wanted to go back to my old self. I didn't want to drink liquids or pureed foods. I hated that I had too. And I too thought something was wrong with me because I was hungry, but as time goes on I learned that I wasn't really hungry, it was head hunger. I was so use to eating all the time that I just missed it. Be patient, it will pass. I am 6 weeks post-op and am down 31 lbs. You will adjust and once you start losing you will feel great. Good Luck!
  8. I don't remember waking up till I was in my room. My surgeon also puts all his patients in ICU unit for the first day or so. I had discomfort/pain on my left side mostly but used the morphine button for pain. I also had nausae but my nurse was so good about giving me something to stop that. Whe I returned home I did have problems trying to get my liquids down at first. I was not taking in all the liquids that I was supposed to so I ended up being dehydrated. That kind of put a delay on things since I was having shortness of breaths and dizziness. This lasted for about 4 days until I called my surgeon and went in to see him. Blood test were taken and reaults were dehydration. Once that was taken cared of I felt great. I am now 6 weeks post-op and down 31 lbs. The hardest thing for me right now is learning not to eat fast. Good Luck to you and don't worry if you don't have the same experience as others. Everyone is different.
  9. Don't get discouraged. The same thing happened to me when I transitioned from liquids to pureed/soft foods. The scale didn't move for about a week but my nutrionist said that was expected. Just keep on the program and you will see a loss. Good Luck!

    Feb Sleevers-What Are You Eating?

Feb 13 surgery also. I have been on pureed/soft foods for 2 weeks now. You don't have to puree everything. My nut said if it is soft enough that you could mush it with a fork, it doesn't have to be pureed. Good Luck
  11. Just keep doing what you are doing and it will get easier. I haven't had any problems with foods but I am not losing weight as fast as I expected. Many people post how the weight is just pouring off of them but it isn't for me. Kepp up the spirits and so will I

    No Regrets! (well Not Anymore)

Sleevie, Your post was one of the only ones that made me feel better. I too went through a period of feeling like I had made the wrong decision. ( my surgery was Feb.13th ) I spent 3 days in the hospital and once I got home, things got worst. I had problems with dehydration since I couldn't get all my fluids down and also had other complications due to BP meds. All that is behind me now and I have finally began to feel like myself again. My problem now is that I haven't lost any more weight. I have transitioned from liquids to soft foods but from what others say the weight just poured off them. I am going to contact my surgeon to ask what I am doin wrong. I eat very little since I can't consume much. I am glad to hear you are doing well . Hopefully I will become friends with my sleeve and things will fall into place for me.

    Gained & Freaking Out

Char60 I am going thru the same thing, freaking out because I have gained 2 lbs. I am presently on soft foods and was told that sometimes the transition from liquids to solids can do that. I hope so because I too track everything I put in my mouth and believe me I am not eating much. Keep up the good work and stay off the scale.

New To The Forum And Five Days Post-Op

Hi amencorner I am post-op 4 weeks. Had my sleeve on Feb.13 and had the same feelings as you. I had moments when I regretted having it. I also had some complications like dehydration and bp meds. Once they were under control, I felt back to normal. I also was hungry on the liquid diet and am now on soft foods. It does get better so hang in there. Good Luck to you

    Would You Have Done It?

Hi I just had my VSG on Feb 13th and have had nothing but complications. I choose WLS strictly to loose weight even though I have HBP. Everyone tells me it will get better ( I hope) but if you asked me right now my opinion, I would never have done it if I knew it would entail what I am experiencing. I would rather have stayed overweight and continued to diet the way I had. Good Luck to you though. I just wanted to be honest because I wish someone was honest and warned me before.
