    Amount of hair loss...

Omg! That picture is terrifying. I am 7.5 months out, I started losing hair around the 3rd month. I had a emotional break down last month because I was losing at my crown and widows peak area,(seeing scalp!) and I noticed my side part was getting bare. Happy to announce that just this week that its drastically slowing down! I have super straight hair down to my mid back. It would come out about 10 hairs at a time when I run my fingers through, now its more like 2. I can even see some regrowth/fine baby hair at my side part. If this is the worst thing to happen as a result of this surgery....then I'll gladly accept it. :-) Hang in there Ladies, it gets better.

    First date is tonight!

Congratulations on your loss! You look great, girl!! I started seeing a guy shortly after my surgery, I really struggled with when to tell him about it. Most if not all of our dates were centered around eating/drinking. I finally got up the nerve 3 months into dating, and his reaction was pretty much a non-reaction. Lol. In my head I had played out the worst case scenario. Anyway, we are going strong 6 months into our relationship...if anything I'm a much cheaper date, now that he knows. :-)

    Surgery date 2/7/11

Hi! My surgery went great, no complications. (thank god) I am now 7 weeks post op and have lost 36lbs. My worst issue is getting all the protein in...but I'm trying. I have sampled various meats/ seafood, just to see what works. Shrimp by far is the easiest to tolerate. Overall, I am so happy I had this procedure done. If you need a weight loss buddy, feel free to message me!

    How Is Everyone So Happy?

I just want to co-sign on the EAS Protein drinks. I tried every drink out there...from GNC wheybolic powder, to Isopure clear and everything in-between. The EAS is thinner and tastes like chocolate milk. It is the only Protein Drink that my sleeve tolerates. I can find it everywhere, Walmart, Kroger and I have seen it at Target too. It's on sale ay Kroger right now $5 for a four pack. Good luck in your journey, hopefully you will be at peace with your decision.
  19. I only got guacamole! Everyone else got a bowl. I did try some of the steak and a few Beans. I don't think there was anyway I could eat any of that right now. Hopefully in a few more months!
  20. I am one month out today and I had chipotle guac on Saturday (while everyone else ate their steak bowls!) I was only able to eat a quarter of the container. It satisfied my craving and went down easy!

Found this article while browsing Yahoo. No sleeves on the list, but an interesting read. http://m.yahoo.com/w/ygo-frontpage/lp/story/us/2392438/coke.bp%3B_ylt=A2KL8y35X.tPCW8A7h4p89w4%3B_ylu=X3oDMTFzaG81Nmw5BGNwb3MDMgRjc2VjA21vYmlsZS10ZARpbnRsA3VzBHBrZwNpZC0yMzkyNDM4BHBvcwMxBHNsawN0aHVtYg--?ref_w=frontdoors&view=today&.tsrc=yahoo&.intl=US&.lang=en

    Pickles :)

Ok girls....I had a pickle! Well a quarter of a pickle and it was DELICIOUS! I called the NUT because I was craving that and olives. She gave me the go ahead as long as I chew, chew, chew and can tolerate it. I had zero problems. No heartburn, no uncomfortableness, nothing! Oh and congrats Amy, you go girl!! I am down 30, including the 10 lost in pre-op. Love my sleeve!
  23. Hey! Just wanted to check in with all my other June 4th Sleevers to see how things are coming along. I have a really lax NUT, so I am able to have just about anything as long as I can tolerate it. So for the past couple of days, I have been trying random foods. So far shrimp has been the easiest to get down with zero issues. Yay, because I love shrimp. I haven't tried chicken or pork and my sleeve dislikes beef of any kind. I am east Indian, so i am trying to incorporate a lot of the flavors and seasoning back into my foods. I had curried chick peas and potatoes, also went down fine. Also Dhal, a yellow split pea kind of soup is excellent. Scrambled eggs are problematic, bummer! :-( Lunchmeat, if moist, is pretty good. Tuna is horrible...It feels stuck every time. Watermelon is fantastic! Although I spit the fibers out...kind of afraid to swallow it. Beans of any kind go down smooth when pureed pretty well. The number one advice I would give is to CHEW, and take your time! I went out for sushi this weekend and had miso soup and the insides of one piece of a spicy crab roll. I also had sashmi, I trier itty bitty pieces of all the fish and it was great. I can only do maybe 2-4oz of food before I feel stuffed and uncomfortable. I am having a hard time leaving the water alone while eating, it a hard habit to break! It's so nice to drink without pain, I don't gulp but I don't sip either. It's great! I am still struggling to get my protein in, which concerns me, but at least Im trying. I'm 30 pounds down, 10 pre-op and 20 since Surgery. I walk about 4 days a week for 1 hour, nothing too strenuous as yet. So how are my sleeve sisters and brothers doing?!? :-)

    3 Weeks Post Op/ June 4Th D.o.s

I've said it before....and I will say it again... I am SHOCKED at the different food stages we are all at. I can't imagine not having regular food for 4 months! I really miss my scotch bonnets, habaneros, serranos,Thai bird peppers and all of my various pepper sauces. Hopefully that will come with time. I am extremely happy I can tolerate curry and all my Trinidadian spices. Life is just not the same with bland food.

    3 Weeks Post Op/ June 4Th D.o.s

Mina, I feel so much better now, as compared to last week. I'm grateful I am healing so well. I too can not sleep on my side. I have pain diagonally from my largest incision. My doc said, that is where the deep muscle sutures are. It won't heal for months. Oh well, Im a side sleeper, but I will just deal with it. I have the same problem with protein drinks. I went to kroger this morning and got the banana creme muscle milk. To my surprise, it went down the easiest! I had the whole thing for lunch over about 1.5 hours. Lol. Ensure high protein also works for me. Right now I'm not concerned with the Carbs and calories, just about getting the protein in. I bought some isopure. YUCK! I mixed half of it with powerade and it made it tolerable. Praying the protein intake gets easier!
