I get on here when I need to keep going and get that extra boost of motivation. I have found a wonderful surgeon, been approved, and now the rest is up to me....losing the weight. I have been tasked with losing 40lbs of which I have lost 30 and i seem to be a tad bit stuck. However, my surgeons staff is wonderful and they are really working with me and making sure I don't give up. Hopefully I'll have a date soon and that will up the ante.
So I guess I should tell my story so it'll be real to me. I have to admit I was a WLS snob. I was one of the first people to say "oh no I don't do unneccesary pain". What I came to realize is that unneccesary pain is not fitting into anything, terribly low self esteem, and constant body aches and pains. I let my weight get out of control before I realized it. It was crazy being so young and feeling so limited. To make matters more exciting I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. I knew I needed to do something but what I also knew is that I needed help. I started researching surgeons in my area that take my insurance and found someone I felt I could trust with my life.
The first few months after I started the process were rough. I was so mad at my self for letting my weight get out of control, I was even mad at my family and i know that's unfair. I also went through a rough break up with food and a very rocky start with exercise. My six month approval period has gone by and I can say honestly that is was not long enough to process everything I needed to do to get my self on the right track. I have forgiven myself and started giving myself the love and attention that I deserve. I look forward to my surgery day. I am ready for my new journey.
