  1. What a difference!! Congrats, you look great!
  2. I still have nasty pains in my muscles every once in a while and im a few months out, but they gave me muscle relaxers and that really seemed to help. my pain is the same when i move around and whatnot, but its more on the right side. Whats weird to me is my stomach was taken out on the left side and i have my pains on the right, but yours is opposite. maybe it is some stitching or something inside! I dont know if thats your case but i would just take a deep breath and wait till thursday. Its scary when things happen n ur not sure if its just your body healing or something going wrong, but i have a feeling you will be ok! Ill keep you in my prayers!

    Pain In Heart & Lungs

Ever since surgery i sometimes get these pains that feels like i cant get a deep enough breath in to breathe normally, and my chest hurts really bad along with it... my doc said its most likely my gallbladder going bad, which is odd to me because i never had that problem before surgery, but I see on here that it isnt that uncommon! maybe thats your issue. But to me it sounds like it could be an affect of the anesthesia or something, the spirometer helped me with that right after surgery also. after my c-section a while back i had a shortness of breath for a few days and since they had to put me out for that my obgyn told me it was bcz of the anesthesia. I dont know, but i would contact your doc, and i hope you feel better ASAP and can enjoy your weightloss!
  4. Thank you girl!! It really does feel great! CONGRATS ON SURGERY DAY! i dont know if you meant monday today or monday like next monday, but either way i hope you have a great recovery! For me recovery was suprisingly easy. I mean apart from muscle pains right after surgery i have had no problems apart from my gallbladder issues. It was even easier than my c section recovery! I hope it goes just as well or better for you! you remind me a lot of myself body type...

  5. YOU LOOK AWESOME!! CONGRATS ON REGAING CONTROL OF YOUR LIFE!! I have surgery on Monday and sooo looking forward to an outcome like yours!! =D

  6. Welll! I have been working on this whole weight loss thing for a little over a year now with Fresh Start Bariatrics in columbus Ohio, And its so surreal to me that im at this point now! Its three months out and I have lost about....drum roll please..........69 lbs since surgery!!! I cant believe it. That makes about 145ish since April of last year. I feel like I need pinched. I have more energy now that i ever remember having, and i finally weigh less than 300lbs, which i havent since probably freshman year in high school! And i hope to never ever see the three hundreds again!! While everything has gone great during my recoverey, i have had a few dizzy spells. Also I get this really horrible pain in my abdomen. its hard to explain, like nausea but like my muscles in my chest and abdomen are super tight....the squad came to get me because my BP went up, and then I was in the ER a couple weeks ago because the pain was not going away. What makes it weird though is i was in pain for a few hours, and then all of a sudden it was just gone. It was the same way the first time it happened. But Dr. Sonnanstine told me he thinks that it could be my gallbladder, and that it most likely doesnt have much to do with my surgery. He wants to wait a few morw months to see if i have any more episodes before ordering an ultrasound.. He said it could just be my body healing or a form of dumping syndrome, but hes pretty sure its my gallbladder. And even though its very unpleasant when ithappens, ive only had these pains 3 times and the energy i feel on a daily basis is amazing, and i would do the surgery over again in a heartbeat, i do not regret my decision at all!! I would have to say the best part so far is being able to walk into a store and buy clothes! now i can fit into a size 22 (i feel like im lying, like i shouldnt be able to fit into a 22, but its the truth!! crazzzyyy!) Mentally its so hard for my mind to catch up! While i have bought a few new pants, I bought my shirt too big because i look at the clothes and feel like there is no way it will fit me. its so exciting to go into a dressing room and not leave wanting to cry! But since some of my old clothes still fit me I dont feel like my body is all that different... When i really take the time to look in the mirror at myself its hard for my mind to comprehend the changes that i see. Also, my mind completely messes with me when i receive complements on how i look. People say how different I look, how my stomach is gone, that i was pretty before but now i look so much better... and it feels great to hear it, but after having so many people say it over and over again its like wow, people really didnt think of me the way i thought they did, and it just feels odd. I dont know, I am just hoping that with time my mind will catch up and these contradicting feeling will go away! Im soo excited for my future. There are so many things that people take for granted that you cant do that are a lot more difficult to do as a severely overweight person.. like ride on the back of a motorcycle or ride on a rollar coaster, or on an airplane... or even sit in a normal chair for that matter. Ive got the last one checked off the list already, which feels sooo amazing...and i know the rest will happen all in good time... I just feel like life is great right now, and i have so much to look forward to. This surgery has really changed my life as a wife, a mommy and a woman for the better, and I sure am thanking my lucky stars for every second of it!
  7. Alright, so its three weeks post op and im feeling amazing. I definatly still feel a bit of discomfort if I move a certain way, but i was off of pain medication by 2 weeks post op. I feel blessed to say I havent really had any complications with surgery and last week i had already lost..... drum roll please.... 26lbs!! im sure now im atleast 30 down. in two weeks?! my mind cant comprehend it yet. and since last year in march i am down 103lbs!!!!! Im constantly taking pictures trying to see the difference because everyone is telling me how different I look, but i still cant wrap my head around it! I am fitting into clothes that I havent worn in years! my mom bought pants that were WAY to small a month ago... I tried them on last week and they couldnt close to button yet but i could tell they fit better. I tried those same pants on this morning and they closed!! and they would be comfortable if the waist of them wasnt right on one of my inscision lines. But its so crazy that in that littlle time my body is changing so much so fast. Is my mind ever going to catch up? I feel great, pretty even, but i still was afraid to try on a size 28 with my friend at Lane Bryant yesterday because i didnt want to feel that disappointment of my clothes not fitting... but this morning i made myself try on a size 26 and they fit! its like... i dont know if my mind is ever going to be able to comprehend the changes because they are happening so fast! can anyone offer any advice on getting through this part of this journey? I would appreciate anything! Other than that I feel amazing! my blood pressure has been almost perfect since surgery, without medications!! Before i was on two medications and i still couldnt control it. its like a miracle.. I am so happy that i made this decision. I cant wait to see what the future holds for me!

mnb sleeve, YES! my tastes have changed so much too! i made my menu for the first few weeks after surgery and it has served for nothing, because all the sweet fruit smoothies just are way to sweet for me! that and the cream Soups that i liked before arent my favorite now.. i really have to force myself because i dont have much of an appetite at all, but im assuming that will change with time! I cant wait to be able to say im that much lighter! Congratulations on your progress and thank you for the kind words!

Merydia, im glad to know you are feeling well! and even more happy to know that this smell thing should get better. I know what you mean! my husband works construction and the smell of wood on him when he got home just made my stomach turn! haha.. but i noticed that im beginning to get a little more tolerable of food smells... perfume is the worst, even just a hint of flowery perfume makes me want to vacate the area.. hahah.. congrats to you too on your fast recovery!

5 Days Post Op And Doing Well!

debly, when i first got out of surgery they out me on Delaudid every two hours... i enjoyed it because it put me to sleep, and i needed the rest after surgery. after that i was put on percocet, 2 every 4 hours, and that really did the job. Now im down to 1 and a half every six hours, along with a nasal anti-inflammatory spray that i started yesterday. The spray makes it possible for me to go the whole six hours with minimal pain. Good luck with your decision and i hope you figure out whats best for you! I know for me this has been the best thing ive done for myself so far!
