    This Is Hard...

I am just eliminating refined carbs. Kinda along the lines of The Atkins Diet. Not for too long because we do need carbs but I have been going overboard with them and I need to stop.

Thank you all! Today I am starting my carb detox and high protein. I will keep you all posted!

    This Is Hard...

I had my surgery April 20 of this year. I was doing really good and then I fasted for Ramadan (A Muslim holy month that requires no eating or drinking from the break of dawn until sunset). It seems like my body has been on a 1.5 month stall since then. The nutritionist said I could fast and then after fasting, the doctor said I shouldn't have as my body was healing. My cravings have been weird ever since. I was thinking of trying the 5 day pouch test. Has anyone else tried this? BTW, thank you all for the tips!
  4. Lately, I have been eating really bad. I feel full and then shortly after, I go for more. I can't pinpoint what or why I am eating like this. Maybe it is boredom. I just know that I feel guilty now. Someone, please give me some helpful tips. I don't want this to all be in vain. I have lost over 35 lbs since May and I don't want them back.

    Nothing Bothers Me? Really?

OK, so it's been a while and I am close to 40 lbs down now :-) The one thing that was my "Achilles Heel" prior to the surgery was rice and I am not a big fan of it any more. I can eat anything! I just don't desire much of anything bad. No heartburn, still haven't had the stuffed feeling and the only time I vomited was when I had a but of food poisoning. Other than that, if I wasn't so open about my surgery, no one would know. People just think I am watching my calories- which, is true... I just have Sleeven to help me :-D

    "adult" Topic :)

I was 2 weeks out and my Dr. told me as long as he wasn't sitting on my stomach, it should be all good. Being on top was a little uncomfortable so we did it spoon style and doggie style at first. And yes, you will need a pillow for support especially if you guys are both really excited.
  7. So I am a little over 3 months post-op and I am down over 30 lbs. I have not had one negative side-effect from the surgery and I am working my sleeve. Well, I am fasting for the month of Ramadan and in my first meal, I had chicken salad that must have been left out all day because I, along with a few others, got food poisoning. I was sick for a day and a half! Vomit, diarrhea and sweats. It was one of the worst pains in my life. Having said that, it seemed to hit me a bit harder than it hit the others who got sick. Also, I still have no appetite and it seems like I can only do protein shakes and popsicles. Have any of your experienced any thing like this and do you think the sickness hit me harder because I have less stomach?

    Cheated

...and shared a funnel cake with strawberries and soft-serve icec ream later on that day. I had a few bites and realized that I had a much smaller stomach

    Cheated

Yes! Deep fried red snapper with hush puppies. I got full quick but no side-effects.

    Nothing Bothers Me? Really?

Nothing bothers me either and that worries me. I am not the chocolate lover I used to be. I am not the bread enthusiast that I was. But I absolutely love juice! I can eat about 4 oz.of protein at a time and feel comfortably full. I am 3 months out and down about 20 lbs (not counting presurgery loss). I took a couple of weeks off from exercising because I had a family emergency. I plan on resuming my activities tomorrow. I also took time from this board and I know that wasn't a good move. I need the support from all you guys :-)
  11. We were invited to a friends house for dinner today, Spaghetti and Meatballs. I have had pasta since being sleeved and it wasn't an issue. I knew I wasn't going to have any issues. Well, I was wrong! The pasta at my friends house was not the whole wheat kind that I am accustomed to using at home. I usually order whole wheat pasta when I am at a restaurant. Anyway, I ate a little bit around 4:30 pm and I have felt uber-stuffed ever since. I hate this feeling! I had a very small portion size and I feel like I just had a pre-sleeve Thanksgiving meal. UGH!!!!! Well, at least now I know.

Crush Meds And Put In What?

Ask your doctor. If they are timed release, then crushing them will make them ineffective.

    On A Scale Of 1-10....

I had no health issues but I didn't want any. I would give it 9 only because there is no perfect surgery (although this one come close).

    Meat Is Gross Now :(

LOL... I used to eat rice so much that a gag gift for my 22nd bday was a book called, "1001 Things You Can Do With Rice"! Now, a little over 1 month post-op, I could careless if I had rice. I don't crave it and it doesn't seem as tasty anymore. It's funny how this surgery has changed our taste preferences.
  15. In my 1.5 month journey of being sleeved, I almost became a scale addict! This was something that meant absolutely nothing to me in my younger, fit days so it shouldn't matter now. I read this article and thought I would share for those that become discouraged when it seems the scale isn't moving. http://www.mydailymoment.com/diet_and_fitness/healthy_eating/your_ideal_weight_isn_t_what_you_think_it_is.php?page=3
