Having To Rethink My Choice Of Surgeons
deshauna replied to CrazyCatLady's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I had to fire my first surgeon. His practice was unorganized and I felt they we out to squander all the money from me that they could. I'm not rich. Even though it took extra time I finished his program. The manager even got approval for the surgery. This was all end of year. I was given two surge dates then cancelled. I feel they were trying to keep the 'surgery deposit' from my husbands surgery. Bunch of crap. Well year ended and so did our relationship. I never looked back. I had my surgery on 2/22. It was the best decision of my life. I was very comfortable with my new doctor. Don't settle you are worth it. -

Any weight loss is terrific. I would talk to you nutritionist to confirm you are taking what you need to loose. But remember you've done a great job so far.

New Feb Sleevers Any Regrets? Best And Worst Thing So Far
deshauna replied to andi0120's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have tried to eat eggs and was running into a problem too. I've started to do two things. If you're not using egg beaters try to blend them and after cooking them soft mash them into tiny particles with the fork. This has made a world of difference for me. -

New Feb Sleevers Any Regrets? Best And Worst Thing So Far
deshauna replied to andi0120's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on 2/22 and at first it hurt so bad to drink water. I started heating it and it made every difference in the world. My doc told me today I could start eating real food. I was so excited tbat I went home and made me something to eat. I could have screamed because it took me nearly one hour to eat one egg. I found that when I mashed the heck out of it I could eat it better. I get a funny gas bubble thing happening if I don't chew well enough. Is this me learning? I keep saying it's like baby steps. But its really alot to take in. My brain is really making me crazy. -
The surgery itself was fast. I was in and out of surgery. I had the best recovery. I had relatively no pain till day 3. It takes at least one hour to eat my food. I have been having lots of gas. Feels weird... Anyone else having these symptoms? I have been draining some in my large incision...Has anyone experienced this?

What a terrific decision. Good luck. I am down 14 since my surgery on the 22nd with a total of 28. This is a decision I would make again in a heartbeat. Take one day at a time. -

I Was Sleeved On 02/22/12.
deshauna replied to deshauna's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Well I was informed that I had a seroma around my largest incision. Dr Umbach drained alot of the fluid. It feels so much better. He told me to come back so he can verify that it's going down. He is truely the best. He also said he is releasing me to work out. -

Neosporin is the best. Drainage is slowing. I am really pacing my eating. I am getting used to my new limitations fast. I am really starting to feel good. -
