Has Anyone Had Caffeinated Coffee @ 3 Wks Out?
Felicity549 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved 4/20. I haven't had coffee in over a month but today I'm exhausted (my 2 year-old was scared of thunderstorms all night). I am tempted to have a small cup. My food list says only decaf but I saw a girl in a YouTube blog that had been drinking coffee since a few days out. Just curious, has anybody else had coffee this early? -
Has Anyone Had Caffeinated Coffee @ 3 Wks Out?

Thank you for the replies!! I think I'm going to have a small cup. Brandymarie, inwas wondering if it might help things along in the BM department... Glad you said that. I'll let you guys know later if I had any craziness happen. Thanks again. I love having "help" right at my fingertips. -
I had all kinds of hot flashes too. But now im always cold. I'm 30 yrs old, sleeved 4/20.

Elizabeth, I'm with you on the protein. I've been gagging through one protein shake in the morning. I know I need another one in the evening to get my protein in but I can't stand the taste of any of them anymore. I laughed when you wrote you have to "choke it down." I'm doing the exact same thing!!

Hey NewLife. I was sleeved on 4/20, just a few days before you. I was surprised when I could eat more than I'd expected. Swordfish is very soft and so are cooked squash and mashed potatoes. And you didn't eat all of it. It smooshes together easily so I think you can fit more than if you were eating chicken or a more dense protein. I had pulled turkey yesterday at a BBQ restaurant and really couldn't eat much. Yet later that night I had refried beans and felt like I ate a good amount. I think it just depends on WHAT you're eating. You're doing fine.

Whoa! Your weight loss is awesome!! I lost 15 pre-op and another 15 so far post-op. Im steadily losing about a pound per day. Surgery was great, too... no complications. I am having heartburn after everything I eat but that's my only complaint. I think I need to try out a new acid reducer. Congrats - you're doing so great.

25 Pounds Down, 75 To Go - Picture
Felicity549 posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Happy Friday, everyone! I had surgery on 4/20/12. I was 260 when I started my pre-op diet and 10 days later on day of surgery I weighed 246. Now I'm 2 weeks out and have lost another 16 pounds. Current weight is 230.5. The picture was about 5 pounds ago but I thought I'd post to show the difference that just 25 pounds has made. I was wearing a 20 pants and am now fitting comfortably into my 18's. I've still got a long way to go but the small changes already feel so great! -
How was your surgery? Mine was 4/20.

Thanks, everyone. D1N - I haven't done anything spectacular. The first 10 days after surgery was full liquids only. It was tough because I was hungry. One day I got desperate and licked the cream out of some Oreos! The liquid only really makes you lose weight. Now that I'm on "mushies" I eat lots of tuna salad and chicken salad, eggs, cheese, etc... I can only eat 3 or so tbsp at a time. I don't work out yet. I should but I just haven't yet, other than 3 or 4 walks with the dog per day - but it's a slow pace and I never break a sweat. The weight will come off. Just do what the doctor/nutritionist say and you'll be fine. Please stay in touch. We're close in our journey. Congratulations on your surgery. I still can't believe I actually went through with this!! :-) But glad i did. -

7 Days Out And I Finally Felt Hunger
Felicity549 replied to FluffyBleu76's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Fluffy. I'm also 7 days out but I'm total opposite. I'm ready to eat!! Can't wait for Monday so I can start "mushies." The fullest liquid I've had is tomato soup and it was heavenly. Ha. I'm pretty sure that what I have is head hunger but I can't really tell. Congrats! -

Msusvi, you're already on soups? I'm still on the shakes & clear liquids. I can't wait to eat some beans or soup or something! I'm 5 days post-op. -
4 Days Post-Op & Still Haven't Gone "poo!"
Felicity549 replied to Felicity549's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@Alovio- You're kicking @$$ with the Protein. I'm having a hard time getting even 20 grams in. For some reason I hate the shakes now and can only drink about 1/4 cup at a time. I bought some Isopure today (icy orange) and HATE it. Ingot 2 other flavors I haven't tried yet. Hopefully at least one is better. I also got some whey "shots" so hoping I can stomach one of those. Please full me in if you have any secret weapons. I think i start mushies next week so hoping I can do Beans, tuna, etc. Excited to be sharing this journey with you. :-) -

Jdhenin, you're hilarious. Thank you, everyone. -
I'm 4 days post-op. I constantly sip, burp, sip, burp... repeat. It's not painful but I'm also wondering if I'll be burping like this forever!!

I'm much better now & got to come home today. Been walking a lot & sipping Water & broth. I feel good. I cannot believe I did it!! I don't have pain at the surgery site but for some reason my legs & arms, neck are super sore. Especially the creases of my legs at the top of my thighs. I wonder if there's gas in there somehow. Thanks again, everyone. -
On Way To Surgery... Please Pray For Me!
Felicity549 replied to Felicity549's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for the well wishes and prayers, everyone. Everything went well. Surgery was yesterday AM at 11. I don't have much pain but soo much nausea. Each time I take a tiny sip of water I feel like vomiting. Lots of dry heaving. I also have "the shakes." Not feeling awesome right now but trying to keep a good attitude. -
My Surgery Is The Day After Tomorrow. Oh My!
Felicity549 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm scared, excited, nervous... ready! I've had my life "on hold" for several weeks while waiting. I'm ready to move on and start with this new me! I missed out on life by hiding through my 20's. I'm 30 now and ready to "live" my 30's and enjoy my husband and toddler daughter. I started at 258 before pre-op, now down to 244, 84 more pounds to go! Any advice of what to take to the hospital? Anybody else getting sleeved on Friday 4/20? Ahh! I can't believe this is really happening!! -

DogMom, I hear you on the irritable. I went through that also! Now that I'm so close the irritability has been replaced with apprehension. I'm ready to be done with the surgery and moving on. Good luck to you and Nikki D too!
