I think I need to purchase an unflavored protein powder for after surgery - does anyone know if I can get this at GNC or Vitamin Shoppe? Just curious....

wow - sorry you are going through this, but like prettysleeved1 said - at least he's not a husband. Sorry to say this, but your psychiatrist is 100% correct, these issues are going to continue to grow until they are dealt with, honestly. Don't stay with someone just to have someone....I see this so often and it's so sad....everyone deserves more. I stayed in a bad marriage for 9 years as he always made comments like you posted initially - and i was a SIZE 3 - just had 2 kids.....and was told I was fat....finally woke up and left him and never looked back. I see my friends in relationships where they are always trying to change the guy - and then complain when it doesn't happen. I prefer to be alone and happy - then with someone and miserable. I'll find mine again....but now I have to concentrate on ME and getting this surgery towards better health is the first step. I wish you the best, but please don't let anyone make you feel less of person - that is NOT love.

Sorry you were positive - now you have to do 2 weeks antibiotics and wait 4 weeks after that to be re-tested. But it's an important test to make sure it's out of your system before the surgery.. Looks like from your ticker that you have a few weeks of appointments, so that's not really going to throw you off track. Good luck!

that's 100% correct - always follow up with EVERYTHING. First - before you start anything - call your insurance company and get the details on coverage, in writing. then you will know that you have done all the requirements required by YOUR insurance plan/policy. I have copies of everything from the beginning of this journey. It really amazes me how many people 'trust' their doctors office to know each and every insurance policy and then get SO SURPRISED that they now have to do a 6 month wait or other requirements. My doctors office printed out what was required by the surgeon, their office, and my insurance....guess what - they were WRONG - luckily I had my requirements from the insurance company so they could see what was 'truly' required - not recommended. They cannot be expected to know all the policies, it's your job to know your policy, no excuse.

what 'horror stories' are you referring to? I've not really seen too many - except for the unfortunate leaks and such- but even those seem to be small in numbers - at least compared to the horror stories of people with the lap band.

yes- all last night - drove me insane and today it still can't connect. I even deleted it from the phone and tried again and powered phone down - as well as doing a force close on the app. ugh

good decision! and I'm glad you showed them this site and the postings/replies to your post. I'm sure it was eye-opening for the girls - as teenagers they can only see 1 foot in front of them! they will appreciate you so much more once you start this journey...sometimes as 'big' people we allow others to walk over us as we fade into the background - you will emerge from this adventure a much more confident person -and that's the image you want your girls to see.

Wait - I though Isopure was like a gatorade - is Isopure another powder?? just more flavors than chocolate and vanilla??

I was going to stop over at the Vitamin Shoppe in Frisco on Friday - I hope they have samples. do you know how much the isopure is?? i hear people here talking about it as another source for getting in their protein after surgery.

well the my nurse who was assigned to me by UHC phoned today and said she has everything and she will call me once a decision has been made. So I hope to hear back by Friday, if not- I'll be calling UHC.

so sorry - I hear that Cigna is one of the harder insurance companies to deal with. Are you very far away from the other two hospitals? I hope you get a date soon, this must be very frustrating for you.

WOW you get to eat chicken, turkey and tuna at 4 weeks after surgery? i thought I'd still be on liquids at 4 weeks out or just on mushies - but what do I know - I'm not sleeved yet. However, I have read 100's of posts just like yours about the dreaded 3-6 week stall - search for stall and you'll read a lot of peoples journey and you can then see their tickers and know it's going to get better. Happy Anniversary - 14 years is amazing.
