  1. I have been banded for over a year and a half, and have lost roughly 120 lbs! I went in for a check up since it had been about 7 months since I had had my band checked, and found out that it has actually slipped. I dont really have any of the symptoms of a slipped band though. No pain, no acid reflux, and yes, I do throw up from time to time, but I just assumed it was due to what I ate, or how fast I ate. So now we are waiting to get insurance approval to go back in and reposition the band. Worst case senario is the band will have to be removed, which I stll am roughly 50 lbs from my goal weight and don't want it removed! Anyone else have stories related to this?
  2. I found out my band slipped a few weeks ago. Also, my new insurance carrier will not cover any type of procedure to reposition or remove the band. My doctor didnt remove any of the fluid that was in my band at my appointment since I wasnt having any issue. Now that I have minor issues, he is removing all of the fluid. I have lost roughly 120 lbs in the last year and 1/2 and am terrified to gain any weight back! Anyone else with similar stories?

    Lying About LapBand

I will personally tell anyone who asks. Those close to me know the hard work i do put in, and even did before the band. What some don't realize is those who have the band may not lose any weight. We still have to make a conscience effort on what food goes in our mouths. Sure, I could snack on fried food, chips, and ice cream all day if I wanted... but would i lose weight? No. It is the conscience decisions I make that determine my weight loss, not my band. It is a tool, and you have to know how to work it.

    Never going to make it

I know it can be difficult. But you can do it! After the band, you will have to do it. It was easier for me to tell myself, "you can't have it" instead of "you shouldn't eat it". My husband, love him dearly, but he was in no way shape or form much help right after I got the band. He would bring home fast food (big fat juicy cheeseburger) on the days when I would tell him that I just wanted a Soup or salad from home. I had to sit him down, and tell him that it was mean, and he can't do that. He didn't realize what he was doing until I mentioned it to him. Now, this is a lot easier to do with people who are close to you. I hate to say it, and I don't mean to sound unsympathetic, but it is something you will just have to deal with. Others cann't be expected to change their eating habits for you. And eventually it does become easier to ignore those people and their foods. Good Luck!
  5. Hello, my name is Tamara. i was banded 2-21-12... so as of yesterday is has been 1 year. I have lost a total of 103 lbs so far! I am extremely happy with my weight loss so far, but for about 2 1/2 months I have been stuck at this weight. I recently joined a gym, I am hoping that will help. Anyone have similar stories after being around a year out? If so did the weight loss kick back in, or what did you do?

  9. Hello! My name is Tamara. I was banded 2/21/12 and have lost a total of 63 lbs! I am down 3 pant sizes! I have 5.6cc in my band. I am just wondering how everyone else is doing? I have had a few plateaus here and there. I was stuck between 55-58 lbs for about a month and a 1/2! That was frustrating. But i started dropping again recently. I'm hoping it keeps going! Please share your stories
  10. Thank you! I 'm sure you will do great! I was a little worried to start solid foods. I am still learning what I can and cannot eat. Red meat does not go down well at all. Chicken is fine. And even though I love it, bread is no longer an option. LOL. I am so happy with my choice to have the surgery.
  11. Hello! I was banded 2/21. I no longer have the gas pains, but my tummy rumbles all the time! In the 1st week I lost 11 lbs! Total to date, I have lost 21. So it slowed down a lil bit. But I am so happy with it! I had a very rough time with the liquid only diet. My husband had to wake me up 4 days in a row for work just because I didn't have the energy, but since I started eating, it has gotten much better. I go in for my first fill on the 30th this month. How was the 1st fill for anyone else??

    Anyone Want A Band Buddy??!!

Hello everyone! My name is Tamara. I am 23 and have also struggled with weight my entire life. I also have PCOS. I was banded Feb 21st. I have lost 15 lbs. I am feeling a little discouraged because I haven't lost any weight in the last 4 days. But I am trying to stay positive. I live in California, and in my town the weather is so unpredictable, and it has been way too windy to go walking. So I need to find some other exercise to do. But my doctor advised to stick to walking for the 1st month. I look forward to checking this forum and seeing how everyone is doing!

    New To Lapland

I have done those, as well as oatmeal, and eggs. Hard boiled and scrambled. I had a hard time finding the right Protein drink for me, and am still struggling. So my doctor okay'ed the eggs to add some more protein.

    New To Lapland

Hello. I am new here. I just had my surgery on feb 21st. I am feeling great. I wasn't doing too well with the 2 week liquid diet. My doctor gave the ok to start soft foods, so I did about 4 days ago. In the last 3 days, I haven't lost any weight, and I am getting discouraged! Any similar stories?
