I was soooo thirsty the first 2 weeks. What made it worse was the artificial sweeteners in my clear and full protein drinks. I got to the point I stopped drinking them and only did water. I'm about 3 1/2 weeks now and finally feel quenched :-)

I had to drink warm liquids to get anything down. I worked on staying hydrated over protein. I couldn't do any cold bc I would get foamie crud coming up after. My surgeon said cold was constricting and sleeve was swollen so stick with warm liquids to help swelling subside. I know ever set of post op instructions are different but I didn't have to start supplements until 2 weeks out. Hope you feel better. I'm 3 weeks out and it does get better.

In a sauce pan boil 1 chicken breast along with baby carrots, celery, onion, and just a little butter (optional) using chicken broth not water. My mom cubed the chicken and used my food processor to purée the meat first. Strain the juice and slowly add it into the purée until you get your desired consistency. The flavor was awesome in the chicken and it made a lot for left over. She also puréed the carrots also using some of the same broth to thin it down. It was the best dinner ever!

Now That I Am Post-Op
birdEbird replied to LorenaVaca's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The only approved protein I was allowed to have was Unjury strawberry sorbet, Unjury chicken soup or unflavored beneprotein or unflavored Unjury protein. Oh and Isopure clear protein. All but the chicken was nasty to me so as everyone else said just be concerned with staying hydrated . -
First Md Appt Tomorrow

My surgeon removed my strips and examined my incisions. We discussed how things were going and advanced me to full liquids 1 week early. We also talked about the next upcoming weeks. I would take a pen and pad for notes; I regret not taking anything. He also asked if I had concerns or complaints this far. If you have questions I would take them in on that visit:-) -
My post op discharge papers say they can be removed 7-10 days. By then I had a follow up appointment on day 8 and the surgeon removed them.

5 Days Post Op And Down :(
birdEbird replied to ebthompson2010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 2 weeks post op today and I could have written this post myself last Saturday. I was at my SIL's house and was very emotional when everyone was having ritas and beer with queso and chips while waiting on the burgers to cook. I excused myself and went home crying the whole way. My husband's family understood why I left and they know until I get past these next phases I may sit more gatherings out. It's what I have to do for me for now. As all the vets say it is so normal and this too will pass. -
Same here and I'm 2 weeks post op today. For me it's the artificial sweeteners in all the shakes. I even bought and now use a tounge scrapper. I only drink water here. I won't touch crystal light or the diet AZ tea. I hear it does get better as we progress:-)

Pod 2 And Stuggeling
birdEbird replied to zamion19's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 3 days out and I could only do warm liquids. I was not a fan of warm tea more less green tea. It has saved me! -
Sorry to hear. I'm 3 days out and I had trouble getting fluids in on day 2 w/out foaming. Warm liquids did the trick and today I'm getting more than warm fluids in. Slow going here.
