wow, I would tell/show him where the door is! But I do know easier said then done. I married my husband at 130 and now at my highest 354lbs, I am now 316 lb since surgery. My husband is now acting threatened because I am now losing weight rapidly....He has become very complasent in our relationship because he feels secure that no other man would even glance my way....well Wake up husbands...cuz we women have been given a tool that will bring us all back into the game! Treat us well and cherish us, we love you but love you for who you are...it is time you love us for who we are fat or thin. You must love yourself first!

So true...I have lost 26 lbs. in the past 14 days since surgery...my feet and ankles (yes I did say ankles not Kankles) my feet fit in my shoes, and my knees feel way better. I climbed 3 flights of stairs yesterday instead of using the elevator.....wow unbelievable! I use perkecet 7.5/500 for pain of the knees in the past....maybe you could get a script from your local doc....until surgery is over.

I too am self employeed. I run a Verizon indirect location. I was sleeved on 2/27 (got out of hospital on Thursday) flew home on Sunday and returned to work on 3/5 (the very next Monday). I am 14 days post opt today...4 of the 5 of my incisions are healed and the drain (which I have a pic posted) is healing up nicely...maybe by week end, I will start swimming again. I have been walking about 1/4 mile during warm days to get my excersise in.

Getting In Enough Protein?
gramaof4 replied to MsDebi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am with ya on the isopure....wow I bought 2 cases of the stuff...and wow it is rough to get down...not that I puke it but the taste...you must force it down. I am 14 days post opt today and I have tried a few other things at this stage of the game....blended cottage cheese...1/4 cup at a time (6.5 g protein) it is easy going down and fills the need to eat because it has some texture in your mouth. cor meal mush too again small amounts and it allows your tummy fullness and your brain gets a texture in your mouth fix... -
Wow girls, I am so with you...I have been using perkecet for knee/back pain for the past 2 yrs....finally made the decision to be sleeved on 2/27/12 and as of today I am down 26 l.b.s and have not used a perk for over a week...even just 26 lbs makes a huge difference on the knees....walking still pains my hips, last night I went to a community play production and climbed 3 flights of stairs to the theatre. I am ready to start shrinking, glad to have you ladies join the losers bench!

Corn meal mush is like a hot Cereal, it is way good (only 2 gm protein) but I added a dash of brown sugar and a spat of real butter and a spot of milk so maybe 3 gr of Protein... try 1 cup boil Water and add (sprinkle) 2Tablespoons corn meal over water let it boil for 1 minute take off stove and scoop into your cereal bowl. It was okay on my tummy...it didn't make me want to puke, It did only take about 1/4 cup to fill me up...I used the remainder of the mush and made my family tamalie pie for dinner....(and they'll have it tonight as well). Today is the first day I have not lost any weight...so I'm still at 26 lb loss. Keep us updated on your progress...Lisa did you get my email with our funny photo. Jan

Now ladies....How bout looking from a different angle because I was with you both at first... When...is the last time YOU bought YOU something? When did you last do something special for YOU? How long do your your children deserve to have their mom around? Do your grandchildren deserve the privelege of loving their Gma...and better yet how long do those grandbabies deserve the right to have you around? WLS is not selfish in any form or fashion....Your health is a bennefit to you kids/spouse/family/friends/ and employers.... I look at the $8750 I just spent and think...well my hubby has 2 4 wheelers ($5000 each) and my kids have enough clothes to clothe half of Africa....now the last time I bought something for me?? well it was about 5 yrs ago when the airline lost my luggage and sent me a check to clothe my naked self... Now your Health is worth millions to your kids/grandbabies... Good luck Ladies!

This man cares about his patients and he speaks great English! -
Sleeved 3/8 Please Help
gramaof4 replied to MSMONIK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I believe the rule of thumb for all of us patiens of Dr. Aceves was Clear liquids 10 days..(yes it was hard), then cloudy for 10 days (this is where I'm at now) and then adding in pureed foods smushie food.....I can't wait for that....I'll try and egg...great potein and low fat. I had no real pain, only if you take to big of sip (more than a tsp.) I have a little restriction...kinda like a sink trying to drain to fast with to much Water in it....takes time... Good Luck...I was sleeved 2/27/12 and have now lost 25 lbs. -
just got back from the walk, I was a little winded but am doing well...it's not the surgery that pains it's the hips....but this too shall pass....just keeping it going one day at a time... had some corn meal mush this morning, was yummy but after 3 small bites my belly said full! so I took all of the left over mush and whipped out some tamalie pie for the families dinner. kill 2 birds with 1 stone... are either of you swollowing pills down for Vitamins? or are you doing liquid vitamins? SG - hope the ear infection is better for you now.

Hey there Windy City Mom and Smiling Gal....glad you're both doing well. I had potatoe Soup yesterday....was able to eat like 1/4 cup before I took the remainder home for dinner. Hubby tried telling me I shouldn't be eating that....well I just told him I knew what was gonna go down.... How is your inside stomach feeling ?(as in the healing of it)? mine kinda naggs of a little discomfort now and again.. I'm gonna start walkin today...I'm gonna try 1/4 mile... love you guys keep in touch! Jan

My Sleeve Is Killing Me!
gramaof4 replied to blackanese25's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good idea on the $20 to get in the closet.... maybe even a silent auction bidding war between friends to determine the entry number....LOL I am so excited to be going down....however I have save alot of my business type clothes from my 130 lb - 354 lb days so I do have a wardrobe i can wear if I have nothing else...LOL It will be exciting to be able to shop at other stores other than Lane Bryant.... -
welcome to our loser bench...you gals will do awesome...it's been 11 days and I'm down 22 lbs...people keep saying your face is so thin....LOL I see it in my fingers...
-
We were told Clear liquids for 10 days, then cloudy liquids for 10 additional days, then mushy stuff the next 10 days, then introduce.....chicken but chew chew chew small small small bites almost to a liquid. I am just into my 2nd ten days so am gonna try some cream Soup tonight after work.

I see this post was earlier last year...but I am 11 days post op WLS and I will say...my husband did not go to any apts with me, nor did he go to the surgery with me...my sister attended the surgery and stood vigal by my side...love her! I flew home and he was there to pick me up...I had to ask him if he could carry my 47 lb bag.... He gave me a superficial kiss and when I jokinly said so did ya miss me after 11 days....he laughed and said "nope"...did just fine. I have been married 20+ yrs now, 5 children later....I am thnking (ccbc) is way right on track...these men take their "fat ole' ladies" for their maid, mother, and care giver. I had meals pre-prepared for him and the kids prior to surgery...all he had to do was preheat the oven....I had laundry done folded, ironing done etc... of course he didn't miss me, why would he...I did all my chores 11 days pre-opt... However I do have a very wise girlfriend who told me recently....Do not make any life altering changes just after surgery....He may be scare, insecure, and just waiting for his life to come tumbling down like the Roman Empire....what he is unsure of...we ladies just wonder...I married my husband 20+ years ago weighing in at 130 lbs....does he think I love him more since I am 354 lbs? NOT and especially when he acts like he is 3 yrs old. I drove myself home home 130 miles after long plane ride while he was in the passenger seat sawing logs.. Weight and see is a big game! Jan
