Oh you will feel full. It is a different feeling than you had before but you will know when it happens. I do not even get hungry. I have to remind myself to eat and keep myself on a schedule to eat and drink. I do get thirsty though. I can cook for my whole family and not even bat an eye about what I am not suppose to be eating. It does not bother me at all. I am almost 5 weeks out and cannot only eat a few small bites before I am extremely full.

You probably are just retaining water from the IV fluids. I would not stress over it. It will come back off when the water is released. Keep drinking fluids and your body will adjust naturally.

I did not have numbness with this surgery but I did with my c-section and still do. I am not sure what causes it but it was 20 years ago and am still experiencing the numbness at the incision sight. Maybe nerves were cut and never healed not sure. Just make sure it is not getting infected that is the important thing at this point. Sorry I wish I could be more help.

Tired And Cant Stand The Smell Of Food
2bsmallagain replied to wannabe2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know exactly what you are talking about. My sense of smell has been heightened and my tastes have totally changed. The smell has not gone away and things that make me sick to look at I will probably never eat again. The bad taste in your mouth does subside with time but it will take a little while. Make sure you drink something like gatorade or powerade with electrolytes if you cannot stand water because you will dehydrate quickly. You will feel tired for a while because you just had a major surgery and your body is trying to heal so that is normal. Just keep drinking it will help you feel better I promise. -
Not Even Gonna Lie, I'm Kinda Scared
2bsmallagain replied to Tia Noel's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I know exactly where you are coming from. I had never been out of the country and still have never flown. My husband and I drove to San Diego. I would definitely fly next time. I am not sure who your surgeon is but you should be well taken care of by a coordinator and the Doctor's staff. They will make sure you are not alone and get everything you need. -

Anything that is a clear soup or liquid can be taken as long as you strain it. If its clear its fair game lol. -
Protein Supplement

I believe GNC has a satisfaction gaurantee. I was told by my GNC that if I did not like the product I could bring the unused portion back for a full refund. I would call and make sure and then try it if that is the case. You will have nothing to lose that way. Everybody has different taste so it may or may not work for you. -
This Is Just So Frustrating! Doctor Selection....
2bsmallagain replied to Sarah35's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I totally agree I would not want to be herded like cattle either. Dr. Garcia only does 4 surgeries a day and I never once felt like a paycheck or a cow lol when I was there. As far as the advertising goes I never once chose him because of any advertising he paid for. I chose him because of the testimonials on this forum about him which are all positive. Everyone has to make the choice they are most comfortable with and I am so happy you have found a surgeon that you are happy with. As far the as the price tag goes the cost of the surgery does not make the surgeon better or worse. I feel like I got the same great service for $5000 that some people pay $8000 or more for. I agree with comfortably numb we cannot put every doctor in the same category. The more you pay for a surgery does not guarantee you a safe and happy experience. I do hope you have a wonderful experience and am honestly happy for your choice. Good luck with your journey and I will tune into your youtube channel. -
Sleeved 5/17..pain On The Right Side Of My Belly Button..
2bsmallagain replied to itsmeloca's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on the 7th and it is totally normal. I had the same pain and couldn't figure out why. I think it is just the fact that your whole abdomen is bruised and is healing. My pain has been gone for at least 3-4 days now. -
I just hit 4 weeks yesterday. Yes this is normal. It is the feeling of over eating and eating too fast. It hurts badly I know. This is the hardest thing for me to correct about myself. Also on certain days you will tolerate food well and others for some reason the same foods will cause problems. It is all apart of the healing process I guess. It does get better but I still have those days that I forget and take a big bite or big drink and think "Oh no, here it comes." and the pain starts. It just takes time.

It is the right decision I promise you and when you return you will have proved it to everyone. I would not change a thing. It is not an easy process but well worth the weight loss. Congratulations on your decision. -
Stalled At 3 Weeks?
2bsmallagain replied to Preacher's Wife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Totally normal. It happens to almost everyone. It is your body regrouping from the sudden weight loss at the beginning. Your body has to rejuvinate in order to work properly. It will start back do not worry. -
Were Any Of Your Family/friends Against You Getting Sleeved?
2bsmallagain replied to thehappycat's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Your mom is probably just worried about you and wants you to be safe. In the end you have to make a decision that is good for you and will help you be healthy. I have family that is totally against WLS at all because they think it is just not safe. Well being obese is not safe either. I did for me so I will be around when my daughter gets married and has kids. I want to be thin and healthy at her wedding. Do what is best for you that is what you have to live with in the end. If dieting was that easy then this forum would not exist. -

The deposit they asked from me was $500 but you can schedule the surgery and let them know if and when you can make the deposit. Yes it does save money and gives peace of mind knowing all expenses are paid when you go. You won't be eating so that will not be an expense. The hotel provides you with broth, popsicles and bottled Water for free. Your husband will get a 15% discount on his food and drinks at the restaurant in the hotel. The cafeteria is wonderful in the hospital according to my husband. They take very good care of you and he was very satisfied with my care and his lol. -
Will I Always Have The Fear Of Being Judged?
2bsmallagain replied to justmeandmysleeve's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did not tell anyone except for my husband, daughter and a close cousin. The "easy way"? There is no easy way to lose weight. The surgery is not an easy way by any means. At times it will make you cry, depressed and extremely frustrated. The good news is you will lose weight and be healthier. It also gets easier with each passing day. I would not change what I have done for anything. You will have to change your lifestyle and work at it still. It is a total life adjustment. People that call the it easy way have no clue what it is like. The relationship with your husband should not change if it is strong and he supports you in this journey. I talked with my husband about every step, every fear, and everything I will have to change. He is supportive and has helped me make the right decisions for my eating and shopping for what I need. The 3 week diet is going the be torture I am not going to lie. You will fail at times and want to quit at times. Just get past any mistake you make and start over do not give up hope. The addiction is a problem we all have or we would not have the surgery. This will be something you will have to deal with on an emotional level and try to not replace it with another bad habit. Replace it with a healthy alternative like running or working out to relieve stress. I had all these fears too and as far as having kids you are only going to increase your chances with weight loss it definitely will not make the situation worse. Good luck with your journey and God bless you. -

Cost Of Vsg In Mexico
2bsmallagain replied to AutumnPunkin's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I went to Dr. Garcia in Tijuana on May 7th 2012. My total cost of surgery, hospital stay (2 nights), hotel (3 nights), and all medications were $5000. It was an amazing experience and my husband was treated like a king while we were there. You never feel alone and have the best care money can buy. The Marriott was amazing and the hospital was so clean I was so pleased. I would not trade my experience for anything. I love the doctors. I saw 4 of them everyday. I just cannot express the level of care I received and my husband too. Hope this helps. -

2bsmallagain replied to Sarah35's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
No problem I am glad I can help. Yes I am doing great. Everyday gets easier and better for me. I have to make myself eat because I do not really get hungry. I started out with no hunger then came the head hunger for a couple of weeks but now I could take it or leave it. I have lost 31lbs since my surgery and it has been just shy of 4 weeks. I take dissolving B12 tablets which help with my energy, gummy vitamins, and calcium chews everyday. That is my breakfast and evening snack lol. I am happy with my decision more each day. -

The package provides you with a hotel room one night before surgery for you and your companion and two nights after you are released from the hospital for you both. My husband went with me and they provided him with a bed in my hospital room as well for the two nights there. There is no recovery house. The Marriott is amazing. -
