Eating More Than Before Surgery
2bsmallagain replied to Thankful's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I could only eat about half an boiled egg and it took me over 2 hours to do at that stage. That should be way to much food for your stomach. I would call the doctor. -
That looks so good. I also like how you put the nutritional value on the recipes for your chicken bites.

Warranties So To Speak..
2bsmallagain replied to meadowesky's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I used Dr. Garcia and I did not ask about a warranty. I am sure if you asked you would get a straight answer. All the doctors on your list are great doctors and you will be in good hands with any of them you choose. Good luck. -
*blushing* But I Have To Ask....bowel Issues...
2bsmallagain replied to TMyers1471's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am having the same issues. Its either one or the other but usually constipation. I feel like I am going to explode and gain a couple pounds before I take something to alleviate the problem. It can be painful taking laxatives. I would like to take something to keep me regular and not have to wait and then go to the extreme to take care of it. Any suggestions that have worked for someone in the same boat would be appreciated. -
I am sure they would need to do their own labs just to have in your file and cover their own behind. That would be my guess. Plus the tests would be the most up to date results.

Did you tell him " You got paid to do it right, darling?". That is very unprofessional of him. I cannot believe a bariatric doctor would act like that. Can you report his behavior and demeaner to someone in your insurance company anonymously? To answer your question I have never broke into a sweat while eating.

I am just a few weeks behind you and I still feel weak. I sometimes get nausea depending on what I eat. I would think your body has been through so much you have a lot to recover from. This would definitely cause weakness. I am sorry I don't have more information to give you. Are you able to take your vitamins like some B12 for more energy? Did they actually repair the leak?

Self Sabotage...please Help Me!
2bsmallagain replied to decamom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are going to have to do a detox session with yourself. Get rid of everything that is bad and replace it with healthy snacks that will satisfy your sweet tooth at the same time give you the nourishment you need without all the bad stuff in your body. Just turn your home into a rehab and go back to the original rules that helped you lose the weight to begin with. You will get back on track after you relax and devise a plan of action. You can do this and you know you can because you have conquered worse already. Keep smiling and fight back. : ) -

You are so welcome. Yes take it very slow. What works one day will not work the next. I have found if I eat something one day and then try to reheat or eat the leftovers the next it does not work. My friend called our stomachs aliens and I thought it was so fitting. It seems to have a mind of its own with its own agenda. We can only hope the alien is happy lol.
-
You are so right we are all different. It is amazing what our stomachs (aliens) will accept and reject daily. It is truly a guessing game at the beginning to see what will happen with each meal.

If you are concerned about your weight loss you can keep a food diary with the amount of protein and calories listed. You can document your fluid intake in ounces. This will help you make sure your hitting your protein, fluid and caloric needs each day. Also check your carbs on the food your eating. Hope this helps it helped me. Good luck with your journey.

I definitely shred it because my bites need to be extremely small. I have to make sure it is moist also or I cannot eat it thats why I would rather eat fish.
-
I can tell you that before surgery I was starving all the time and ate constantly therefore I needed surgery. NOW, I have no hunger what so ever. I have to eat on a schedule so I do not starve my body lol. I eat for survival not for enjoyment anymore. I could care less if I eat each day. So something has been removed besides most of my stomach. I do believe that the hormone has disappeared. YAY!! I do get thirsty however.

It is normal to have that type of restriction. It will get better by the time your at 5 weeks but not much. The swelling has to go down so you can get something into your stomach. Just keep sipping for you fluids so you do not add dehydration to the mix.

I was told to eat tender chicken, fish, ground turkey, and ground beef but I am also 5 weeks out. I was told I could eat beef and told chicken was perfect for me. It however is way to early at 3 weeks to eat heavy protein like chicken or beef. I am glad I love fish and it works great for me. Everything seems to be up in the air lol. What I can eat one day I cannot eat the next. Fish is my constant and faithful.

My husband is the same way. Thin, tall and has a great metabolism. The cookie situation with the one year old is not that big of a deal if you also expose the child to fruits and vegetables too. The key to keeping a child from being over weight is balance and lots of activities like sports or playing outside daily. Every child should have a cookie once in a while. It is the sitting in front of the TV with limited activity that makes a child obese not just a cookie.

It is probably the food your eating. You were just sleeved on May 21st? What are you eating? I was sleeved on May 7th and can't hardly eat anything heavy without suffering. I can only eat chicken or fish without pain. Mainly fish is the best thing I can eat that goes down smooth. My sleeve can be very tempormental and if it isn't happy aint nobody happy lol. Good luck with your food choices.

Did I Break My New Sleeve?
2bsmallagain replied to Iwantitgone's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No this is normal. This happens to everyone especially when you lose rapidly at the beginning. Do not panic and be patient the scale will show your weight loss soon. This also can happen if your bowels are not working properly yet. It will all work out. -
What Do You Do With Your Nose Piercing?
2bsmallagain replied to buffalogal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Take it out right before surgery and put it back in right after. You should be fine with it being out for a few hours. -
I'm sorry . I know it is not a pleasant experience.

Help, Is Vsg The Right Thing For Me?
2bsmallagain replied to cosmogirl70's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was in the same boat as you are. I scheduled my surgery early so I had a long time to worry. I have no luck at all and things never seem to go my way. I was also worried about all the things you are. I decided I was going to take a positive approach about the surgery and do it for my health. It was bad luck that got me fat and unhealthy. Good luck and don't be a negative force in your life. Stay positive. -
I never had acid reflux before surgery but since surgery I have it so bad. I take 4-5 pills a day for it. This seems to be the norm. I was told to take an antacid for the rest of my life.
