Are any of you taking anything like prevacid or nexium? I heard that even if you do not have the feeling of reflux or heartburn that the hunger pains can be caused from excess acid in the stomach. The prevacid or nexium type medicines are supposed to quiet that feeling down. That is just what my research has told me. I hope it helps.

I would ask for an itemized estimate of any out of pocket expenses after the expected amount the insurance should pay. Surely the doctors office has done this enough to be able to tell you what your benefits will probably cover and how much you should have to pay out of pocket.

On my diet list of foods at 3 days I can go on full liquids which inludes pudding, yogurt and cream of wheat ect.

Thanks I hope so but I am sure I will have little melt downs a long the way. The sticks of butter things are an amazing way of looking at it. That helps give a good visualization to the weight loss.

You have been on the diet for six days? That is a pound a day and your not even sleeved yet. That is so good! I know I have not been sleeved but I hear alot of the veterans say take the word "only" out of the vocabulary. I think 6 pounds is a good start. If you continue to lose a pound a day thats 30 pounds a month 90 pounds in 3 months and so on. That is a lot of weight. BE HAPPY!! YOU ARE ALREADY ON THE LOSING END! I am goind to pray for you to continue with your loss!

I know I have spent alot of different flavors so I don't get to bored. I have bought jello, pudding, gas x strips, crystal light type stuff to put into water, a small single serving type blender to make pureed foods, broth, and protein shots. I know it will last a while but still it gets expensive. Hopefully I will get it all back on money I save on food. I just want to keep m protein levels up during the clear liquid phase.

From what I have learned by all my research on this surgery there is a 3 week stall that hits the majority of the people. It will pass but may take a couple weeks. Your body is trying to regroup and this is its way of doing that.

I have to do a certain diet for 14 days before including protein shakes and high protein food then clear liquids for 3 days.

The preop diet is to reduce your liver size in order to help with the surgical process. Also it helps you start to lose weight.

I looked at the belightweight.com and I believe it is a Mexico surgeon named Dr. Almanza. I am going to Mexico but I am driving to San Diego. In my area its pretty expensive. I hope you find the perfect surgeon at a good price. Good luck with your journey.

You have to stay in the US to do self pay? So you do not want to go anywhere outside the US, am I understanding this correctly?

Did you find out why it was taking so long? I am having surgery with him also in May.
