    New Here

I am the mother of 2 girls, ages 10 and 7. The morning of my surgery I had a major panic attack thinking what if I don't make it, this is so selfish. Well, I made it! Banded on 2/27 and I feel fantastic! My girls are seeing me exercise every day and last night my 10 year old chose yogurt instead of chips with her sandwich. She said "Don't you think that is my healthier option Mom?". I did this for my entire family and I can see the great results already. Hang in there, you will do great!!

    February Bandsters?

I was banded on 2/27 and I feel great. My issue now is that I am sick of Protein Shakes, pudding and yogurt. I have 2 more days of full liquids until I can start my mushies. I cannot wait to have a soft boiled egg ion Saturday! Question, are there any moms out there? I think the worst part is making my family dinner and not being able to eat it! Although my reward came tonight when my 10 year old asked for yogurt instead of chips with her sandwich because, in her words, "that is the healthier option". Now I know what I am doing is worth it and I will succeed. Congrats to all of us!! I am down 12 pounds and walking everyday.
  4. I was concerned about exercise as well, but I have discovered this week that losing almost 12 lbs and consuming protein instead of cheese curls and chocolate really makes a difference. I was banded last Monday and I feel fantastic, more energy that I can remember having in a long time! Hope you get rescheduled soon!

    Skinny Bucket List

What a great topic! I was banded a week ago tomorrow and I feel great, 10 pounds down and I know I can do the rest with some dedication. Here is my short list: 1: wear my engagement and wedding rings for the first time in 6 years 2: get family pictures done without worrying that I will hate how I look 3: exercise without hating it 4: get rid of my cpap

    New To Lapland

Wow! I am still in a full liquid diet for another 6 days so that means: protein shakes, sugar free jello, sugar free pudding and strained cream soups. I am looking forward to scrambles eggs next Saturday. I did notice that there is a lot of difference in the food transition timetable for different posters. Although I would love an egg, I will stick to the plans the surgeon provided. Good luck and keep me posted! LOL!

    New To Lapland

Thanks everyone! I never expected to get so many supportive replies. I am down 9 pounds (not bad for 4 days!). I woke up this morning excited that my abdomen was down and squishy again, but when I was up and moving out it popped hard as a rock. Walking will be a priority today! Good luck to the future banders. I was terrified the day of my surgery, but I can already tell this will be an amazing journey. And for everyone who says this is the easy way out, you never had abdominal surgery!
  8. I just had my lap and surgery on 2/27 and I am feeling pretty good with the exception of the abdominal distension. I am hoping that goes away soon. I am excited to see how my journey turns out. I am glad to have people to connect with.
