  4. So excited to report the post op visit was a SUCCESS. I'm on track, I am on to Phase 3, smooshey foods, one food at a time to see how I respond. YES! Man I am stoked - the liquid only phase was about to drive me batty - not that I was hungry - no, just needed some substance - other than Isopure and Whey Shakes. My incisions look sort of nasty but are doing well. One has the Dr. concerned so hes giving me some antibiotics - "joy". I'm also going forward with the vitamin supplements. First, I have to invest in them. So by the end of the week I should have all the shopping done. A small dent in my wallet, I'm sure. I can sort of feel my clothes fit different - but it's not really eye catching like - WOW you've lost 20 some odd pounds. Funny how 20 to a skinny biatch would make them look anorexic and 20 to a curvey and well endowed woman has no impact. No worries, my skinny biatch day will be here soon enough. Not that I want to be a biatch - I'm just looking forward to others noticing something other than my eyes, hair, nails or boobs. I'm just saying. I'm returning to work on Monday - full steam ahead. I have a sit down job, so it should not be too bad. Until then, success and hapiness to all.
  5. in the hospital I puked after that swallow test, and all I could think was NEVER again...it was so uncomfortable...I hope I don't got through what you are going through...It is a tough situation - especially for people who did not disclose to anyone what the surgery was for...maybe speaking to your boss privately would be helpful. I know it would not work with my boss - she's has no soul. I just plan to do what ever I can to avoid upchuck city - heaven help me when the plan fails...oy....
  6. insurance paid 99% of the whole deal - my out of pocket was minimal. They even called to see how I was doing!? I love UHC.

    Wtf!

love your post - raw. I am that 300 pound woman and envy your 100 pound success. Stay the course and keep doing what your doing - focus not on the scale but on you and how you feel and look - maybe that will help? If not, my mom's sure fire recipe for revenge on loud music playing neighbors is to "Light 'em on fire and then stab the fire out with an ice pick"...but guns work just as well.
  11. pre op visit today and on to phase 3 - smooshy foods - so far so good - down from 334 to 308 for about 26 pound loss...wow.

Any Way Around The 6 Mo Diet?

Depending on your health care coverage, yes. You can call the insurance and ask for the Weight Loss Surgery Guidelines. I was able to get a letter of medical necessity, which was approved and negated the 6 month requirement. I had several co-morbid issues, high blood pressure, mild sleep apnea, pre-diabetic and COPD. If your primary care doctor supports you - you can request a letter of medical necessity and submit that with your Psych Evaluation. I worked with a nurse case manager through my insurance company - and it was the easiest process. UHC was really great.
