I was denied at first for the same thing, but in my case I did have the second clearance letter they just apparently lost or didnt receive it. My surgeon faxed it over and I went through a reconsideration. I was approved in about a week and a half after the second submission. I think it is pretty standard that the insurance companies want a second clearance or recommendation from another Dr other than the surgeon. All of the different surgeons offices I researched had another Dr they worked with for this reason. I bet you will be approved. I would try and find out exactly the wording they will need. Cigna can be picky on wording.

It took me 19 days before I received my approval....I have been told Cigna is the most difficult and lengthy to deal with but that they are trying to strealine the process. Mine waiting was horrible. Good luck everyone. My fingers are crossed far you all.

August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?
Nikki613 replied to futureskinnypants's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Name: Nicole Surgery Date: August 21st Dr. Scott Stowers Age: 31 From: Fort Worth Texas Highest Weight: 250 Current Weight: 250 Goal Weight: 140 A wee lil bit about me: I am a 31 year old newly wed (well its been just over a year). I have a awesome "too big for her britches" 10 year old daughter. I have been struggling with my LIFE for an eternity, but the weight issues began about 8 years ago. I have everything I ever dreamed of, and I should be the happiest I have ever been but my weight is out of control and I have spiraled into one hell of a depression. I have been coming out of it little by little. I plan on finding a therapist to see once a month after surgery. I believe in order for myself to be successful I will need to get my spiritual being healthy along with my physical being. -
I would like to suggest a Rouge forum for those who want to eat/drink off plan. I have seen a lot of people fighting on here lately. Maybe if the Rouge people had a specific place to post it would help. Just a thought.

What Was It Like The First Day After Sleeve?
Nikki613 replied to lglavish's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Love reading these stories. My hope for everyone is to have huge success! -
Going rogue would be eating off plan. It was a term I saw on the HCG diet boards. There were Rogue HCG dieters that didnt adhere to the strict rules of the diet.

Anyone have advice on this topic? I already have thinning hair due to PCOS. I am very self conscience about it, It is s little bit noticble in the front bangs area. (especially when wet). I am worried I dont have much left to lose if the surgery makes it worse? Any advice or stories to share about this?

I have the most amazing friend. She was so excited and open and told everyone about her decision to get her sleeve. It was because of her courage and strength that I have decided to embark on my own journey. I will be meeting with the surgeon in a few weeks and I am so excited, ready to embark on the road to a healthier me. I even found out my insurance does cover it!!! That said the one thing that I have struggled with is deciding if I was going to tell everyone or not. My husband is very supportive and so is my awesome friend, but after a lot of thought I have decided I am not telling anyone, with the exception of some friends and anyone I meet or know that is struggling with obesity themselves. My MIL is a nurse and she will not be supportive and I know she will say I need to do it on my own as she did 30 years ago. When I mentioned my friend having surgery all she said was "well...you have to be careful so many of them become alcoholics, or shopping addicts, I see them all the time at work" . Mind you I wasn't saying I was thinking about it or anything. She also talks about everything and everyone, not in a harmful way at all, she is not mean spirited, but is always talking about various peoples health and medical issues ect. After discussing this with my husband I have decided to not tell my in laws or anyone in his family. This is a very personal choice and I feel I want to keep it private. I wish I too could scream it from the mountain tops like my friend, but I fear that any form of negativity will keep me from being successful. Am I a coward??? :confused5:

People in general are opinionated. People LOvE to share those opinions. I personally can see both sides of the argument. Its annoying to people who want to treat themselves to be bombarded with advice or being scolded. Its also annoying for those who have changed thier lives completely to see others doing things or wanting to do things they feel strongly isnt a good idea. either way, people need a place to go and talk where they feel safe. Even if they are going rogue. Some people have decided not to change their lifestyles at all....and that is their right. If they are successful awesome, if they arent? Well they will learn that on their own.

Ahhhhh yes Lol i knew that didnt look right hahahaha

I do not have any intention of going rouge myself btw.

August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?
Nikki613 replied to futureskinnypants's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes I researched my surgeon. He has only been in Bariatrics 2 years. But he has been a general surgeon for 20 years. He sleeved a friend of mine she is doing great. I havent met him yet and wont until the day before surgery. Makes me nervous. Its my fault though. His office is located pretty far from work and I was scared to take off when i was temp. I did all my appointments withe one of the after care docs near my work. Im sure IM fine. just a scardy cat -
