Reading this thread seriously worries me! I havent had my surgery yet, but I've always been obsessed with sex & love doing it! I will absolutely go crazy if i lose my sex drive ! I started my journey January of 2011. Went through the process of a whole year of weight management, went to countless appointments and i was supposed to have surgery january-february of 2012, and it didn't happen why? Because the hospital staff is lazy and unorganized. It was May of 2012 when i decided to give up on the idea because i had gotten a new job, and i just didn't have the luxury of taking 3-4 weeks off for recovery. Soon after calling it quits, i found out i was pregnant and 3 months in i had a miscarriage, was it my weight? Maybe so said the gyn but it could of been plenty of other things. Months passed, and i injured my back, doing chores. After going through months of agony i finally found out what was wrong with me, i had a slipped herniated disc. I was rushed into an emergency spine surgery and right before surgery the surgeon(that saved my life) told me that if i would of waited a little longer i could of been paralyzed. And also told me that i should look into getting the gastric bypass surgery. I quickly told him the nightmare i went through with trying to get it and he said dont worry i know someone. After surgery he told me that he really recommends me doing the gastric bypass sooner rather than later because i need to lose a significant amount of weight to get full function of my leg and to have a fully healed spine. He worked his magic with the gastric bypass surgeon & because of this wonderful man, i am now scheduled for my gastric bypass surgery on February 11th and am on my way to a full recovery! below is my before pic, cant wait to post a 6 month post op pic!

I see that everyone puts their weight on their threads. I've been so use to never discussing my weight because Ive always been ashamed, that i forget to do so on here(the only safe place i have) I was 250lbs from 2005 til recently, i am now down to 238lbs due to all of the pain and suffering I've been going through with my Spinal Surgery. I am guessing that after i start my pre-op diet i will be losing at least another 10-15lbs. The day before surgery i will post exact pre-op weight.

I went through this process for about two years so i definitely know how you feel hun! The whole thing was put on hold mid last year, and was brought up again due to spine surgery i had a month ago, and now they're rushing to do it due to healing purposes. Dont worry time will fly and you will be having surgery before you know it.

My surgery date was scheduled today for February and I am extremely nervous ! Don't know what to expect!

Ended over other things. he wasn't there for me when i was going through spine surgery (that actually prompted my gastric bypass surgery to be done asap) As in he didnt even visit me in the hospital.. but he was actually pushing me to get the gastric bypass surgery while we were together, For my health mainly, because my weight is affecting me a great deal. Glad i dont have him around now for when i get this surgery he would of made me miserable.

Wow im so sorry to hear this, i was kind of scared to get the surgery while i was in a relationship, since ive been heavy all of my life & now that im about to be thin its going to be a whole new life, i have always been a trendy dresser but i know now im going to dress even better and im going to get attention from men that would of never looked at me twice, fortunately i broke up with my boyfriend before i even found out i was having the surgery for sure.

Hello Everyone, I originally was going to have the gastric bypass surgery, but my doctors have pro-longed my surgery i was supposed to last a year on weight management and then about a month to get everything set up but it's not been a year & 3 months since I started my journey and still not surgery... & since life changes do happen, I was just hired for a new job in a hospital emergency room in registration.. and I was going to cancel the entire weightless surgery but then I remembered the option for Lapland, it being a much safer procedure vs. removing a part of your stomach and or stapling your stomach. I was reading that this is an out-patient procedure as well, but how long after surgery can I get back to work? at this new job I cannot afford spending more than a couple of days off..please let me know I need some feedback other than the doctors! I havent had the surgery yet, but I know exactly what u are speaking about, the thought of being able to shop anywhere makes me so anxious that I get dizzy! But i think you should take it slow & take your time and make smart choices in what you buy, try not to let it overwhelm you! Congrats on ur weight loss! I can't wait until I get my surgery !
