Omg I Just Ate Cake 8 Days After Surgery
New1 replied to Mishy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am kinda shocked that people would reply to someone's admission of failure with curse words and attitude. I'm sure that being cursed at and berated has helped no one lose weight. I for one don't come to this board for all sunshine and sparkles. We all need tough love occasionally but there is a time, a place, and an appropriate manner. There is only one thing that bothers me more than a thin person reacting so harshly and that's a former fat person reacting in such a way. SMH To the OP good luck, search deep inside and outside of yourself for the help that you need to get where we are all trying to go and trying to stay. None of us are better than you. -
Labor Day Challenge 2012

CW 204.4 GW 185 1.2 lbs down this week. -
Even though I've read numerous posts about this topic I did not think about my own marriage until recently. I met my husband when I was thinner so I really didn't think about how things might change if I got thin again. I am 4 months out and the past 3 months had been terrible as far as my husband and I arguing and not being on the same page. We never really argue or disagree so I felt something must be wrong. I didnt ask about specifics because I can't ever read my husband either, I just mentioned that I felt like we weren't on the same page. We sat down and talked about our 5 year plan and I think he got the sense that he's still in my plans and I was able to focus in him and give him attention that I probably haven't given him since I started focusing on myself with this weight loss journey in April of last year. My husband is definitely one who does not like change and no one can predict how lossing a lot of weight will affect the relationship.

I had been stalling for 2 weeks at a time then dropping 2-3 pounds then stalling. I try to track but I just can't get in the habit of it. I found that if I concentrate on getting pure water in I lose more quickly. So I haven't been tracking carbs or protein just water intake and dropped 5 pounds in a week. Could be a fluke but I'll take it!!!

This is an awesome question. To be a normal weight I believe I need to hit 132. I was happy at 160 so my personal goal is 150. That would put me squarely in the overweight range and I think I would be fine with that.

I quit the day before surgery. So I haven't had anything carbonated since March. I can't say I miss it much. I took a drink of my husband's soda because I got our drinks mixed up one day and it didn't feel good going down. It made me feel like I do when I take one bite too many. It was the most painful belch I ever experienced.

I have not added carbonated drinks back into my diet out of fear! I loved drinking red bull and diet coke. Now its so difficult to get all my water in that I don't have the time/space to drink the carbonated beverages.

I stole this from another vst member but I like any shot of hard liquor on the rocks with a few drops of Mio. Sip slowly! -
That's awesome! You rock! Good luck with the rest of your journey!

Roll Call Nurses Being Sleeved ...........
New1 replied to TinkerToyz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm a family nurse practitioner with hospice and palliative care being my primary focus for the past 6 years. I was sleeved 3/13 and am down 51 lbs. I still have 50 lbs to get to my personal goal. I went back to work 9 days after surgery. Good luck everyone! -
Has anyone ever done lipo post surgery? What were your experiences? I am 4 months out and I am thinking about it for the future.
-
I am happy so far. I hope that I can get to goal within a year.

I am losing just slower now. Sometimes I stick to protein shakes and that always gives me a losing boost.

Labor Day Challenge 2012
New1 replied to jhansen71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yay, you've motivated me today. Thanks! -
I can eat most things on most days. Some days I can't tolerate heavy meats and some days I can't eat as much as the day before. Other times I feel like I'm starving. I'm still working on sticking to an eating plan.

SW 210.5 CW 209.0 GW 185 I will gladly take my 1.5 lost because I've been stalling for over 2 weeks! Gonna get my water and protein in and try to go for a jog tonight. -
I was sleeved 3/13 and I do not have any regrets r/t to surgery. I do regret not getting my mind in check before I started.
