  1. I just posted on a "stall/slow loser post". If you can see me sig you can see how my lose has been going coming up on my year in a few weeks. I'm not at goal but I just don't feel like I need to "do" anything to make the weight come off "quicker or better". I stick to my plan most days and I'm happy with that. I caution all of the more newly sleeved folks to not even give themselves a label like "slow loser" within the first 6 months. I really didn't even realize I could be considered a slow loser until a few weeks ago now that I have enough months worth of data and weight loss numbers to see my trends. I guess I "dieted" and stressed myself so much prior to being sleeved that for me this surgery really was the savior I wanted it to be. Everyday my body may not being losing pounds according to the scale but my mind is losing its obsession with food and and my spirit feels freer. I hope that this continues for me and when I make it to my scale goal that I don't lose all that I've gained!

    Stalls

This is probably weird and not the right response for your post but I never really focused on the stall. If you can see my sig you can see how my weight loss has been. I have never compared my weight loss to other sleevers either. Looking back at almost a year out I think I would have gone insane doing that. I guess by looking at purely numbers and the scale I'm an extremely slow looser. And there were plenty of times that I wasn't losing pounds at all. I don't know that I ever did anything different to start the scale moving again. Most days I follow the plan to the letter <60 g carbs, >60 g protein, 64oz of water my calories tend to stay between 800-1000 cal per day. I guess all this to say just wait and watch if your following the plan the weight will come off. I still weigh everyday knowing that some days I'll stay the same and some days I may gain a pound but eventually I'll lose my 5 pounds for that month. But I try not to let it dictate my mood- that's the hard part! Good luck.
  3. You can do this. I definitely can relate to the feelings of being discouraged and wanting to quit. Just keep fighting the best fight you can. I am spending some time trying to restart my mind and trying to get back that initial enthusiasm. Good luck with your gb surgery and your continuing journey.

    Newbie Here

Welcome! I wish you good luck during your journey. I too went back and forth trying to decide on surgery. I'm close to my year mark and closer to my goal everyday. I would do it all over again. Happy early birthday. Improved health and well-being is a great gift to give yourself.
  5. Surgery date 3/13/12 not at goal yet but not unhappy with where I am. Started at 260lbs. 250 day of surgery and 170lbs today so 90 lbs total. My doctor didn't give me a goal. My personal goal is 150. I convinced that I can get close before my surgiversary. Im interested in where other folks are. Good luck all!

    Pardon my bluntness...

I don't know why it's so shocking to see some people posting about eating harmful things pre or post op. at one point we were all so fat that someone somewhere was probably shocked everytime they saw us eat anything. I'm all for giving support how the person needs it. Many times you can tell from the tone of the OP what they are fishing for. Some people want that kick in the a&& others seem to just want an audience. Sometimes I post most of the time I don't. As a matter of fact most of the topics on here are so repetitive if you've been here for 6+ months, so I guess nothing shocks me anymore. However, if I see another post about someone 4-6 weeks out "not losing weight" I'm gonna scream :-p j/k. All jokes aside many of us are fighting demons of addiction and as helpful and supportive as we all think we are or genuinely want to be we may not be able to reach everyone that has an addiction and having the sleeve doesn't save everyone. As always I say, good luck, God bless, and happy losing!
  7. My weight has come off slowly but it's coming off. I still want to lose about 35 more pounds. This past week I have not followed the plan and it shows on the scale. But I refuse to be discouraged like I have been before the sleeve. I am giving my self a pep talk to get it back together. I didn't know how easy it would be to slip back into old habits but I see now that if you try hard enough you can fail.

Hope I can get 3 pounds off by the 20th 175.6 lbs today. I'm so close. It would be awesome if I could surpass my goal." Well in 174.8 today so I made my 175 birthday goal! I want to be 172lbs or less on 1/1/13
  10. I will be 30 tomorrow and I'm so excited to be entering my thirties and not be obese. I started my journey in November 2011 at 260lbs. I had surgery 3/13/2012 at 250lbs and a BMI of 49. Today I'm 175lbs with a BMI of 32 and 30 lbs from my personal goal. I'm excited about where the sleeve has taken me and where it will take me! I can't wait to go to the license bureau tomorrow and get my weight put on my lic
  11. I am excited. I have several birthday dresses to choose from compared to last year where I could only fit on old 2x gown. And now I can wear heels again because my knees don't hurt from carrying so much weight.

Weight Goal Challenge For New Year's Day

175.6 lbs today. I'm so close. It would be awesome if I could surpass my goal.
  13. I did feel an immense sadness in the weeks immediately following surgery. My mind felt on fire with thoughts of wanting to eat. I also ate mostly for comfort and it took me many weeks to adjust psychologically to the fact that it is not physically possible to fill my emotional needs with food now. I did try several times to over eat with the same result, vomiting!!! I can't tell you for sure when the head hunger eased for me but I am 9 months out today and I have a totally different relationship with food. I would totally do this again. The weight loss is awesome but for me the ability to have food be in its proper place in relation to everything else the world has to offer is priceless.

  15. I take generic Prevacid daily and I too drink coffee which gives me terrible heartburn so I take a Zantac in the later morning and that helps the acid exacerbated by my coffee. Good luck.
  16. I would say not to worry. When was the last time before the sleeve you felt able to get full off soup of any kind? The liquid phase of the diet is partly to allow your freshly sliced stomach heal. You will definitely feel some restriction as your diet progresses. Some days you may feel like you have more restriction than others and from most that post here you will find this is a normal occurrence as well. Good luck and happy losing!
